Awesome Mountain Getaway!

The Algonquin Lodge is my family home. It has 6 bedrooms accommodating up to 12 guests. There are three levels that include a living room, dining room, large dine-in kitchen, family room and den. This is a roomy home that offers space for everyone. It is a great place for a family vacation! This beautiful Adirondack style home is located in a private setting just minutes from the village with lovely mountain views.

The kitchen/family room has a wood-burning stove to keep it cozy where a large family can gather. The living room has a floor-to-ceiling 2-story stone fireplace. The basement has a 65 inch smart tv with X-Box 360 gaming system and a foosball table.

Great for Family Gatherings

We had a family gathering and we had plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was well outfitted which made it easy to prepare meals. The location was spectacular and we would stay there again.

Lake Placid Family and Friends Getaway

Lisette and Kirk's property was a dream. My family and 2 other families stayed over Martin Luther King weekend to go skiing. Between us there were 5 kids (ages from 6-9) and 6 adults and we all had a blast. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, but the house was so cozy and inviting that we all were able to be together comfortably as well. This house had every pot and pan you could ever think of. I have never stayed at a home that was better stocked with anything you could need. The house was a super short ride into town where all the restaurants, shops and supermarkets are and an easy 20 minute ride to Whiteface Mountain. My son turned 9 over the weekend and we were able to go Bowling just 5 minutes away. Amazing memories were made all around with adults by the fire, cooking in the kitchen and kids laughing and playing. There is a huge basement for the kids to hang and play as well where they enjoyed movies =) Lisette answered all of my questions before and during my stay; she is a wonderful host! If you get the opportunity to enjoy this picturesque home I highly recommend it.

Adirondack Family Christmas

We had a lovely, cozy stay in this house. It’s in a great location, and lots of space for all our family groups. We loved cooking together in the well stocked kitchen. The lighting was a little confusing. But we all called the visit a success.

A Wonderful Two Week Stay

My family returned to this property after having a wonderful stay last summer. This summer we even added a week to our stay. We were pleasantly surprised by some upgrades to the furniture in the home. This house has plenty of living spaces giving all three families staying the room to relax, play, and work all at the same time. The hosts are incredibly responsive and helpful. The location is great. We can’t wait to go back next summer as well.

Last minute vows.

Kirk was so accommodating with all the last minute cancellations our wedding posed during this time. We were able to have a beautiful family get together to do our vows. The house was gorgeous and well maintained. The owners were great.

Perfect for family vacation

This is a wonderful property. The home is very spacious! With 6 large bedrooms, there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep very comfortably. The house is very clean and beautifully decorated in Adirondack style. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood but only a 3 minute drive to town. The large driveway had plenty of parking room, and was a great place for the children to play! The kitchen is very large with a six burner stove, two ovens, and two dishwashers. Great for a crowd! It had every kind of pot, pan, and utensil you could need. The large outdoor deck is great for sitting with a book or a drink. The stone fireplace is gorgeous, and great for warming up on a chilly night or morning. This property was perfect for our multi-generational family in every way!

Spacious Vacation Home for Large Families

This house is amazing! We stayed the weekend of Feb 15-18 2019 and entered into a very spacious, very clean and very accommodating home. The location is very close to town yet still feels like the wilderness. We had 3 families in our group of 11 and never felt crowded. In fact, there were nights where we preferred to stay inside and enjoy the home rather than head to town. I have stayed at a number of homes reserved through Homeaway and would highly recommend this home.

The Best Part of Our Lake Placid Tour was this Mountain House!

It is not an overstatement to say that the best part of our Lake Placid Tour was the stay at this house. We were a large group with many small kids and this was the perfect place for our group. Huge, beautiful, and close to town, and most importantly, very clean and well-maintained. All of us thoroughly enjoyed the whole setup of this place, that very small details were even looked into by the owner, Kirk. For instance, there was a Sonos Play5 Wireless Speaker placed at the living room. We used this well, and there was good music throughout! There was plenty of space for parking our 6 cars! We had tons of space - each family had a private room for them and still several living room areas to spend time in. All the rooms and bathrooms were stuffed appropriately with all we wanted - such as towels, extra beddings, sheets etc. Common areas are huge. As for the kids, there were enough games stocked to keep them engaged. There was Playstation at the basement with some good popular games as well. The best part about this house we liked was the kitchen. It is equipped very well - Appliances maintained very clean, and had enough vessels- big/small, and we used this kitchen extensively. Most of our gatherings were around the kitchen. Lastly, the owner was extremely courteous and helpful with all our enquiries. He has employed a caretaker which we could call anytime to address any of our issues with the home. We will definitely stay here again if we come back. We highly recommend this place! Thank you!

Huge rooms and lots of space!

This home was perfect for our group! 2 skating coaches, 6 other adults, and 4 skaters all stayed here. We had tons of space - each family had a private room and still several living room areas to spread out in. Lots and lots of parking (we had 5 cars!), big rooms, and a huge kitchen. It made our stay in Lake Placid very enjoyable! The house is very clean and well maintained! We will definitely stay here again if we come back. Thank you!

This is an awesome property

I will highly recommend this place for bigger groups. Great and spacious kitchen. This home has an amazing feature to accommodate and gather more than 15 - 20 people in at least 4 rooms.I will surely visit this place again as it is at a very appropriate location for tourists.

Beautiful setting

A large comfortable house in a beautiful setting. It is perfect for a family get together. The bedrooms are large and the kitchen is great for preparing meals for a crowd. There are 3 gathering areas, one with a beautiful stone fireplace . We enjoyed the hiking/snowshoeing trail which was right out the back door. It is less than a mile to the village and lyft rides are available. It was a very enjoyable vacation for our family.

Beautiful home. Everything we needed was there

Lovely house

We had a great experience in the house. Huge house lots of space all the amenities provided. Kirk was very helpful and responsive to questions leading up the stay. We would definitely come back for another stay.
