We rented this home back in July 2022 for our retreat in April 2023. I confirmed pool heat during my original conversation with the owner only to find out it wasn't included in my cost. We ended up having to pay an additional $500 (which we negotiated down) for things we believed to be included in the cost. I'm grateful he was willing to work with us, but also communication and transparency is key.
Day of arrival I had to reach out for instructions as they weren't provided prior and was then asked what we had rented. Seems weird he wouldn't know what we had rented and I had to tell him. We checked in, everything was fine. Just don't move the couch or lift the cushions, look up at the fans or expect unstained linens. The pool heat was also broken, but that's not on him and he did refund us.
There was also no listing of a camper being on the property with an older lady and her dog. She will enter the property if she thinks your party is gone. Luckily for us, we had individuals there who witnessed this. There was also no mention of lawn care being done on Wednesdays anywhere in his listing, instructions sent to me through this app or on the house instructions. My guess is if you see it now, he's updated his listing.
Upon bringing these things to the owners attention, I was called high maintenance like his property. I'm not, I just have standards for the amount I paid.
The property's beautiful, customer service is not.
