Thanks for your review. You need to talk to your friends. One of the others in your group called about the hot water, and while on the phone we discovered they were turning the handle the wrong direction. If you turn the handle in the direction which would normally be cold in the States, the water will be hot. Affectionately known as Mexican plumbing. In Spanish the C stands for hot and the H stands for cold. Your “friends” said they weren’t going to tell you, because they got a kick out of you not having hot water. Regarding AC, you have to tell staff about this kind of thing. The ACs at the Villa have a much larger capacity than any ACs in the States. If it’s not cooling very quickly, then something isn’t quite right and needs to be looked at. Hope you give us another chance to do better in the future.

Thanks for the kind words Mark. We love to grill too, but it's too much of a safety issue, especiallly in a country where grilling is not so common. Our new pool guy misunderstood, the difference between keeping a low profile when guests are present vs not servicing the pool at all. That should be behind us now, and the pool was sparkling clear yesterday when I was there. We'd love to have you back again!! Villa Amistad

Hello - thank you for your review, I'm so sorry that you had the issues you did. I am happy that you enjoyed the location, pool, housekeeping, and our Isla staff. Stacy did inform me that the water pump was malfunctioning during your stay. Even though it isn't helpful for your stay, rest assured that we did fix the issue & get a new pump. We were unaware about the coffee pot and the dish cloths. I'm very happy that you brough this to our attention so we could replace it right away. As far as the grass in the backyard, I'm sure you noticed that we are one of the very few homes that actually have grass. The climate is very hard to keep grass and plants alive and we will remind our staff to keep the yard watered so everything stays green. Again, we apologize for the issues, and would love to have you back and try to make up for the trouble you had. Thanks! Erin
