Stonegate Estate - Elegant Homestead

Stonegate is a stunning, elegant Victorian style homestead set on ten park-like acres with views of both the Watagan and Brokenback mountains. This property has something for everyone boasting a 15 metre lap pool, a cinema area with full reclining seating, a full size tennis court, basketball and volleyball court plus a 1 kilometre cycling/running track around the perimeter of the property.

The main house features four bedrooms and two bathrooms, both with claw foot baths, and the cabana pool house is self-contained and features a queen bedroom and separate bathroom with large living area with a comfortable queen sofabed. Stonegate features a large light-filled formal living and dining areas with an open fire, a gourmet French farmhouse kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a huge casual living room with library room and cinema spilling out onto a three metre wraparound verandah.

Stonegate has all the features of a five star property including ducted air-conditioning, Blackbutt floorboards and three metre high ceilings. It even has a state of the art built in Bose sound system and Foxtel.

Stonegate can accommodate up to 14 guests comfortably.

TARIFF
Weekend - for up to 10 guests $1266 per night (Thu-Fri or Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun)
Midweek - for up to 10 guests $950 per night (Mon-Thu)
Extra guests are charged at $100 per person per night.
Children under 13 years are charged at $64 per child per night.
Infants under 2 are free.

Please note that a $40 booking fee is applicable for all bookings made.

SECURITY DEPOSIT
A security deposit/bond of $1200.00 is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre-authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival, so please ensure the funds are available at this time.

Please note, Stonegate has exterior security cameras to monitor the exterior of the home only for the protection of the property. Security cameras are commonplace at many of our rural properties. Footage is private and remains the property of the owner, and will only be used for insurance liability reasons, to monitor occupancy and other policies noted in our Terms & Conditions. They, in no way, are there to infringe upon the expectation of privacy of guests in these exterior areas. To disable or obscure the cameras is prohibited and may result in loss of security deposit or eviction.

NOTES 

A 1-night stay may be accepted at discretion of Management within 14 days of the prospective arrival date. A surcharge is applicable on the 1-night stay, this will be calculated by our staff and quoted to you before the booking is confirmed.
Weekend Public Holiday, Easter, Christmas, and New Year periods require a minimum 3 night stay full weekend rate.



Concert and special event weekends in the Hunter Valley will have a set minimum night requirement to stay and may attract a surcharge.

Great stay, big areas for everything we needed. Can improve on modernising the property as it was a bit dated. No wifi is a big draw back and didn’t realise until a few days out (just assumed there was wifi in this day and age), we probably would not of booked if I noticed. Bindis are rampant everywhere. It would be good if at least an area was controlled as nearly everytime you touched the grass you got stuck with several.

Great for kids

Such a lovely stay with kids, lots of space for everyone and lots to do with court and pool! Easy walk for dinner to the brewery! Our second stay was just as good as the first!

Great house and location

We had a large group stay with the house providing plenty of room. We loved the outdoor deck and pool to cool off in. Very easy check in check out. Location is great! Only 5 mins from Rydges and 8 mins to Cessnock

Huge house, great space, we were really just there for the tennis court, but it is a great house for a large group.

Excellent property!!!

We had the most wonderful time staying at Stonegate Estate! It was the perfect location to have our own private surroundings and thoroughly enjoyed visiting the wine region and enjoying the amenities the property had to offer! The pool was especially enjoyable in the extreme heat we experience! We are already planning our next visit!

Family getaway

Great property in a great location. Sunset was beautiful. Tennis court and pool was great and got lots of use. Loved the privacy as well. Only complaint is the house could do with some brighter lights as the outside lights were quite dim.

This property has the potential of 5 stars bit only deserves 2 or maybe 3. There are issues in every room. Blinds that don't open because the strings are broken. Dreadful mattresses. Nowhere to put your clothes in main room... no shelf, chest of drawers.. nothing. Broken lights, broken milk frother. Nothing worked in the cinema room at all... the projector, tv dvd.. nothing. Had to get manager out with a new dvd player. Dvd player in main room didn't work either. While place needs a going over and fixed. Fantastic potential but very run down and unloved.

Happy 60th old friends

A fabulous big house. Decore, paint etc getting a little tired but still very functional, and the lawns need water and weed spray for bindii.

Hunter valley Christmas

It is on beautiful land with the tennis court and pool just beautiful. I stayed here 5 years earlier and was disappointed to see that the house has deteriorated a lot in that time. The kitchen was greasy the rangewood was full of grease the mesh inserts on the kitchen cupboards are thick with dust. Main bedroom has a Power point that makes a noise which isn’t safe and the second bedroom lamps when we turned them on they blew straight away. The house was full of mosquitoes and the house needs spraying as there are wasps and nests everywhere, also cockroaches came out at night in bathrooms and kitchen. Such a shame as it’s perfectly positioned on beautiful land the house needs TLC nothing has been done in 5 years it needs painting on the outside as well.

Great home but needs work

The home was a great size and layout for a great and memorable multi generational family stay, however as a premium property with premium pricing it fell well short of the cleaning and maintenance standards one would expect. There are too many issues to list individually but include poorly maintained gardens full of weeds ( we understand that with the dry a green lawn was not there however gardens full of large weeds, and bindis on the walk between the house and pool is just lack of maintenance. The broken nets on the games facilities dilapidated pool housing and surrounds; , holes in the deck and protruding nails took the shine off what otherwise would be an outstanding property. Also whilst the surfaces inside the house were clean, mouse poo in the kitchen cupboards and on the utensils was not great neither was the super iced up and dirty freezer. The kitchen utensils and crockery has not been maintained and sorted as part of the post clean up by the managers after each visit. Lack of wifi ( whist this was made known in the booking ) is also not great for a stay in a premium property . When some of the defects were mentioned to the managers staff on site the response was you can suggest to the owners only so much but cant make them do things to me is not a response - when the property is managed by a company that promotes luxury stays then they have the power to ensure the quality lives up to the promise - by refusing to list unless the required maintenance is done.

Perfect weekend getaway

Beautiful cottage that catered for 8 adults who needed a weekend escape. Everything that was needed was on premises. It was clean and well looked after inside and out.

Nice property

The Stonegate is a beautiful property, located close to vineyards, and not far from Cessnock. Overall, our stay was comfortable. Facilities within the property were generally functional for their age. General cleanliness was ok but with some areas for improvement, for instance the floorboard was a bit dirty and we found a cockroach in the kitchen. The dishwasher did not seem to be cleaning the dishes very cleanly as some plates/utensils were still dirty upon our check-in. Also, some bathrooms were missing body wash. Overall a good stay.

Our group of 12 enjoyed the facilities for a weekend. Great bedrooms and living spaces including the added bonus of the pool cabana. The pool and tennis court were well used ad we all had a great time.
