Formerly known as The Surf Perch.
Whether you’ve come to Pacific City to beach comb, fish, surf, or just relax, Surf Spot has all you’ll need for an excellent stay at the beach! This custom home has beautiful wood detail, stained concrete floors, attractive décor, and a three-sided gas fireplace between the living room and dining room. The great room ceiling soars two stories with transom windows for lots of Pacific light—your guests will love the plush seating and the huge TV/DVD and soundbar. With loads of counter space and a breakfast bar, the fully equipped kitchen lets you serve meals at the dining table or out the sliding doors to the picnic table, hot tub, and barbecue. A fish-cleaning station lets you ready your catch for the table; an outdoor shower will take care of any sand from surfing or boogie-boarding. The kids will love the loft over the living room, reachable only by ladder and filled with cushions for lounging and board games for amusement. They’ll also gravitate to the nearest of three bedrooms, which has three recliners, a TV/DVD, and a balcony. You’ll want the queen suite upstairs, which has its own private balcony with a view of Haystack Rock, plus a TV/DVD.

It’s an easy walk across the road and over the dunes to the beach, or drive three minutes to Cape Kiwanda and the Pelican Pub. There’s room to park your boat or ATV trailer, a horseshoe pit and fire pit for fun, and every amenity you can imagine at this family- and sports-friendly home. Book it and add another level of adventure to your next stay in Pacific City!

Not as advertised

We rented this properly based on the hot tub and ping-pong table. We were excited to use both. Unfortunately the hot tub was broken and they couldn't fix it before we left. The ping-pong table was warped and unplayable. The home was in a nice location but needs a good cleaning as there were cobwebs in all the rooms. The home had a lot of wear and tear. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to use. The fireplace was a nice amenity. Overall we had an okay time. Definitely dissatisfied with the lack of hot tub though. We would have picked a different location had we known these things.

Weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our time in pacific city at the house and on the beach ! The hot tub and pong table were a hit for our kids thank you for the beautiful place to stay !!

Was good

Place was good. Few things were off. Oven didn’t work.. which sucks bc we needed to back. Hot tube seemed like it didn’t have chlorine. Few things broken here and there. Was ok place. Close to beach

Needs a little TLC

The property is centrally located, pretty, clean and well laid out for a family get together. However, it could use a little TLC. There were small things all around the house--a broken shower door (replaced by a shower curtain), missing vertical blinds (so the kids' room was never fully dark), no way to watch the TV in the kids' room (since there is no smart TV in there, no DVD player included, and guests would need to bring their own game player/device which we did not), small knobs are missing/broken on the stove and faucets, a broken bathroom towel bar, and I'm not sure the bed in the bedroom with the twin bed and another bed is actually a queen (it seemed more like a double, so said my sister and brother in law). Lastly, there is a terrible spiky weed covering much of the back yard so DO NOT go out there barefoot (or even with just flip flops on)! At this price point (all in it ended up being just under $900 a night for 3 nights, split 3 ways in my family), many things really should be simply replaced or upgraded. The maintenance people were very kind and responsive, but were unfortunately not able to fix these things during our stay (mainly, the issue of not being able to use the TV in the kids' room). Despite these numerous small things, we had a very good time and enjoyed the location and hot tub! I think a little investment in the property would go a long way in making this a great place in a beautiful beach town and to get us to return to this property in the future:)

Wear and tear

The blinds to the back patio were broke. House furniture is worn out and uncomfortable. Kitchen is infested with ants. Coffee maker leaks all over counter top.
