Marsh Madness at Timbercreek 18A, Beautiful Creek Views, pool and creek access

You will love everything Timbercreek 18A has to offer for your vacation to Bald Head Island. Besides the comfortable accommodations and the beautiful creek views, you have access to one of the few private pools on the island and our Timbercreek dock. Feel free to use our two kayaks to explore the creek. The dock also allows for crabbing and fishing just steps from the condo. We provide two golf carts for exploring the island and for easy access to the beach of course!

There is a garage that stores one of the golf carts, beach amenities, and a full size washer and dryer. All Timbercreek buildings consist of two properties. The A unit is the top floor, the B unit is the middle floor and the garages are on the base floor. The buildings are nicely spaced apart so you can enjoy sitting on the outdoor screened in porch. We have comfortable patio seating for 6-7 guests.

You have the option to purchase a weekly membership to the Bald Head Island Club for access to their pools, tennis courts, restaurants, and golf course.

Wonderful creek side location

Delightful place to be. Watch the sun rise over the creek from the screened in porch. Peaceful and beautiful. Accommodations were excellent

Great location on the creek

Wonderful stay

The condo was as wonderful as advertised. We especially enjoyed the close proximity to the pool. Communication with the owner was excellent. Overall a very pleasant experience. A great place to stay on the Island!

We so enjoyed our trip! The condo is beautifully decorated, very well appointed with everything we needed, and with a stunning view. The property owner communicated thorough pertinent information and always promptly and kindly—a very gracious host!

Great view, comfortable, but in need of a little TLC

My family enjoyed our stay. The unit was well appointed (loved having the kayak), the two new carts were wonderful, and the view was the best. However, the bathrooms are in need of full remodel as the floors had water damage and are really showing their age.

Beautiful Scenery

We loved the location on the water and the main room also stood out as being a lovely space. Overall, Bald Head Island is magical and this was a great place to stay while there. The only negatives were that the fragrance of the sheets too strong for our tastes, the ceiling on the porch needs some tlc as does one of the bathroom floors. None of these features impeded our ability to enjoy being there.

Great Family Beach Trip

The condo was great! This was our first visit to BHI, and we loved it. The property was centrally located, easy to Marina, Market and beaches. The pool right outside was a huge highlight for our family and younger swimmers - went daily sometimes twice a day. Well equipped, with tons of beach stuff: boogie boards, shovels/buckets, umbrellas, chairs, kayaks to use in marsh. Younger kids loved the loft, and older teenagers enjoyed the privacy of bedrooms. We would definitely book again

Spacious condo - on the marsh!

We had a great trip to BHI. We have stayed at various locations around the island and love the marsh - beautiful views and access to kayaking. Timbercreek also has a pool, which is rare on the island. Mike was great to work with - super responsive. We loved the size of this condo with the extra loft area. Enjoyed the screened in porch in the mornings. We also loved the fact that this condo has fans in every room - so you can keep the air conditioning turned a bit lower even in the muggy summer months. We would definitely stay here again! Oh - and great golf carts!

Disappointing

This property is aging and needs some care. The porch, which is the highlight of the house, needs the screen replaced; fixtures are rusted, the furniture is too big and uncomfortable and was very disappointing. The outdoor shower and faucet in garage does not work at all. Water was standing in front of the washer and dryer, with no way to clear it away. The walkway around Timbercreek, which should have been a treat to use, was in disrepair and unusable. Bald Head Island is very expensive and the facilities should be maintained. I will say the kitchen was very well stocked for cooking.

Great stay at 18A!

We love BHI and 18A Timbercreek was a great place to stay. It has a great loft and three comfortable bedrooms. All of the beds and pillows are very comfortable as well! The owners are very thoughtful and seem to try and provide additional resources for their guests (laundry soap, dish soap/sponge, Ziplock bags and paper towels to name a few). This was a very nice surprise. They also have spices in the cabinets, sharp knives, and a nice blender in the kitchen! The owner, Mike, was also very responsive and helpful as little things cropped up, such as a slow-moving shower drain. We loved being on the marsh and having access to the pool right outside our door was very nice. Bald Head Island is a very special place. My family has never found another vacation spot that comes close. The only potential "downside" to this unit is that it is a second story unit, so there are a couple flights of stairs to climb. It shouldn't be an issue for younger, able-bodied individuals. My parents are getting older, so it started to be tiring after the first week. Thank you for a wonderful stay. It was a great time!

Great stay at Timbercreek 18A

We loved access to the pool and kayaking on the marsh. Enjoyed the screened porch, especially in the morning. House was comfortable and well kept. Could have used some extra dish towels for the week but will just bring a few next time!

Great Summer Beach week - 2nd time here!!

This is our 2nd time at BHI and we've stayed at 18A Timbercreek both times. The central location and extras provided make it great. We used the boogey boards/surf board and kayak. Golf carts were great. Biggest thing for us is the pool in the complex! We swam everyday, sometimes 2X - couldn't get the kids out. It's hard to find a swimming pool on BHI, so this is great!

Great location, Attentive owner

If you are new to BHI, the Timbercreek neighborhood is centrally located w/ quick access to the ferry, market, & equipment rentals. It's a pleasant four minute golf cart ride to East Beach & two to South Beach. The location is fantastic. The neighborhood itself is divided into three sections. This particular unit is located in the section w/ the owners-only pool, which makes it very convenient for families. There is a neighborhood dock for fishing & crabbing, & a walk-in ramp for kayaks, paddleboards & canoes. The walkway along the marsh was damaged in a storm and was blocked during our stay, but did not impact usage of the dock. This unit does not have a private outdoor shower, but it does have a spigot w/ hose next to the garage & two outdoor showers at the pool to wash off sandy bodies, shoes, etc. Each building in these sections has two separate rental units; an upper (A) & a lower (B). 18A, being the upper unit, has a beautiful lofted ceiling & a wonderful view of the marsh from the back screened porch. The golf cart seatbelts had a tendency to get stuck from the elements, but depressing the release w/ a little muscle & child wiggle worked every time. There are plenty of shower & beach towels. The linens were great. The kitchen is small, but open to the family & dining area. It has just about everything you will need for meal prep & storage while vacationing. As a larger group, we would have enjoyed a second couch versus the chaise lounge for one, or the two armchairs, but that is just our preference. Honestly, two small bathrooms was challenging for a large group, but we did it. Both have a shower/tub combo & single vanity; nothing fancy, but clean & in very good condition. The same goes for the bedrooms: nice & clean w/ a closet & large shelving unit. I would suggest hanging a small wall mirror in each for dressing, doing hair, etc. especially if renting to larger groups. The tower fans in each bedroom were nice, especially the loft. This unit provided one double and two single kayaks with lifejackets. There were two surfboards, four+ boogie boards, six+ beach chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, shovels, charcoal grill & one bicycle in the garage, which is also where the washer & dryer are located. So, you must exit your unit & walk down two flights of stairs to the garage to wash & dry your clothes, which might be difficult for some. The owner is pleasant & was very responsive to our inquiries. Communication was great.

Magic on the Marsh

We watched the sunrise every morning over the marsh from the screened porch! Our second visit to BHI and we loved everything about this condo. The kitchen was well stocked, the water pressure in the showers was great, the beds were comfy, and the golf carts were in great condition. There were plenty of beach supplies including towels, chairs, toys, boogie boards, umbrellas , etc. The community pool was a great asset given all the restrictions with club memberships now. The owner was responsive and thorough with communication! We had 4 adults , two teens, and two young children and everyone was comfortable. Can't wait to return!

Easter weekend getaway

This property had everything we needed for a stress-free weekend away. Mike was great with communications. Beautiful place and so peaceful. Golf carts worked great and it was nice having beach towels and beach chairs available to use. I would stay here again!

A great holiday vacation!

My two biggest fears when I go through VRBO...will the beds be comfortable?; and will the place be cleaned? For this property, the beds were comfortable and it was clean. I don't mean to suggest this is all the property has to offer, just saying that I've had some less pleasant VRBO experiences and these are more important to me than most. This place has a lot of positives. To name a few: 1) the place is fully stocked with everything you need to cook--we were here for offseason and limited restaurants were open on the island; 2) there isn't a bunch of breakable nicknacks everywhere that I have to move to keep kids from breaking; 3) there are two carts and kayaks and stand up paddle boards; 4) right on the creek and fishing and crabbing from the dock was a fun activity with the kids. (We used the owner's crab nets, but bought our own fishing equipment); 5) beach chairs and towels are already there; 6) games and puzzles in one of the closets for when the weather doesn't cooperate. Negatives: I have to stretch to find any. Hmmm, a part of the TimberCreek deck appeared washed out, which just required we walk a little more to get to boat landing and docks. But it was still a close walk. And if I want to really get picky, I wish the hose was a little more accessible to wash sand off beach chairs after use. Overall, this is a great value and we would stay here again...or for a summer if we could afford it! P.s. I recommend bringing as many groceries as you can with you on the ferry and don't leave your phone charger in your car!

Wonderful view and relaxing stay

This was a wonderful property that was perfectly located between different spots on the island. We also loved having a pool for the kids and the extra things available (beach toys, chairs, kayaks, etc) made it extra special. We will definitely stay here again! The host was very responsive as well!

Tranquility AND Adventure

Our family of seven wanted a special place to come together for our overdue vacation. Somewhere quiet and restful with fun activities. And Mike’s place is it! Plenty of room to gather as a group and plenty of spaces for solitude. We explored the island on bicycles, kayaks and golf carts. The porch was a favorite looking out that beautiful, peaceful water view. And reading in the hammock. Movies and jigsaw puzzles in the living room. The pool was an extra bonus as we were the only ones there most days. The neighbors and everyone we met at Bald Head Island were very friendly and helpful. There was not one item we needed or wanted for. Even maple syrup and a griddle for pancakes. The local market had a bakery that made special cakes to celebrate all the missed birthdays from our time apart. Each of us commented on how well we slept. Clean and comfortable beds and linens. Thank you Mike! You were an outstanding and gracious host. Coming back any day now.

So much fun on the marsh!

We had a great experience! The location is really convenient to the marina, shops, beaches, and of course, the marsh. We’ve always stayed closer to the beach, and we really enjoyed the marsh view, kayaking, crabbing, and seeing different birds and marine life. The owner was super responsive and helpful, too!
