Man-O-War Cay is a small island (2.5 miles long and .4 miles at the widest point) in the Abaco region of the Bahamas. It is a very special place for the discerning traveler who is looking for something quiet and out of the ordinary. Whale's Tale Cottage is located just outside the settlement of Man-O-War Cay. Surrounded by palm trees and flowering plants this property is located only a few minutes walk from the beach and the Sea of Abaco. The wrap around porch is a great place to relax in the hammock or to enjoy morning coffee with the hummingbirds. The cottage has all the amenities you need to be comfortable while you enjoy the relaxing and beautiful atmosphere of island life. Some of the amenities that are included with the house are Internet with WiFi, Air Conditioning, Backup Generator, Outside Shower, Pawley's Island rope hammock on the wrap around porch, Washer/Dryer, BBQ Grill and Beach Access.

Amazing family vacation

Our family spent 9 nights at Whales Tale and absolutely loved the home and loved MOW! Very well laid out with plenty of space for the whole family to hang out together in the living room. The porch and hammock were lovely as were the grounds. Very happy we chose Whales Tale and we hope to be back!

Whales Tale Cottage - Man o War Cay

We stay at Whales Tale Cottage every year for our Abaco vacation. We love this rental home! The house is comfortable, beautiful and so relaxing. It’s a gorgeous, tropical yard full of palm trees, flowers and birds in the morning.It has an amazing wrap around porch where we spend lots of time on the grilling out, reading, relaxing on the hammock and then go exploring!Ebbie and Chuck are the best hosts and communicate regularly and are so kind. We love everything about staying at Whales Tale Cottage and we always vacation there!Gordon and Keri Bourne

A little slice of heaven.

Just had the privilege of spending a week at this wonderful property. The house is modern and pleasant in every way. It was quite warm while we were there, but the ac kept us cool, as did the summer breeze on the porch. Speaking of the porch, we took turns napping in the oversized hammock as well! Overall, a great stay!

Island Paradise

This was our second year staying at "Whale's Tale," a truly special vacation home situated on the pristine and untouched Man O'War Cay. We simply couldn’t resist returning! The yard is as enchanting as ever, featuring a vibrant palette of brilliant red hibiscus and other native blooms in shades of fuchsia and pink, beautifully complemented by lush green palm fronds. The homeowners have thoughtfully updated the kitchen with sleek white cabinets, marble-like countertops, and stunning sea glass shades of translucent subway tile. The home exudes warmth and hospitality, offering ample opportunities for family gatherings over meals and endless hours of puzzles and games. Ideal for outdoor living, it boasts a perfect location for accessing beaches on either side of the island, as well as the charming shops in the settlement. We dined at the newly renovated marina restaurant and savored coffee and pastries at the local coffee shop. Our family has been visiting Man O'War Cay since the 1980s, and "Whale's Tale" serves as the perfect venue to continue this cherished tradition. We already miss it!

Perfect Bahamian Cottage

Whale’s Tale was a delight on the beautiful quiet island of Man-o-War Cay. It was a 5 minute walk to the beach and a short walk to the harbor for us to hop on our boat everyday. The outdoor shower was our everyday shower which we loved and kept the cottage from getting Sandy. The best part, in my opinion was laying in the hammock every afternoon or as sunset, reading my novel and enjoying the sounds of the ocean and the birds that frequent the beautiful yard. I would happily stay here again! Thank you for helping us create our family memories! gettingsnady.

Enjoyable all around

The Whales Tale was perfect for my husband and myself as well as our daughter and son-in-law! It basically has two master bedrooms; one has a separate entrance which allows for privacy. Also there was other space for additional people/kids that we did not use. The air conditioning was fantastic, back up generator turns on automatically, the deck was very comfortable and the location was a short walk to the beach. The owners were very communicative.

Vacation Paradise in Man O'War Cay

Nestled in the heart of Man O'War lies the charming residence known as Whale's Tale. Our family has been visiting MOW since the 1980s. We adored Whale's Tale. The dwelling is enveloped in luxuriant landscapes filled with lush flowering greens, bougainvillea, and hibiscus. Each day, we engaged in our yoga practice or immersed ourselves in reading while swaying gently in the hammock on the front veranda. The abode boasts two queen beds and a smaller twin, each accompanied by its own recently renovated and beautifully decorated bathroom. The kitchen is well-appointed, perfectly meeting our culinary needs. Whale's Tale is tastefully adorned in soothing shades of blues and greens reminiscent of the sea glass scattered along the shoreline. It proved to be the idyllic retreat for our family's vacation.

Wonderful beach house with outstanding location

This Whale Tale property is a slice of paradise. Beautifully furnished and the garden property 500 feet from a gorgeous beach is so wonderful as a home base for adventuring the island. Hosts were very responsive and we felt we got more than we expected with the amazing island home and experience. Will absolutely stay here again.

Great Cottage on Man-O-War

We stayed at this property in November of 2023. The property has a bedroom inside with one twin bed and a larger bed, as well as another bedroom accessible by the porch. It worked very well for a family with younger teenagers. The property has an amazing covered porch which is where we spent most of our time. The kitchen is well stocked for a small space - nice open concept space into the living room. A very quick walk to the ocean and short walk to the settlement. Caretakers and owner were very responsive.

Beautiful property

Beautiful property! Easy walk to beach. House has everything to make your stay comfortable. We enjoyed the nice porch in the evenings. Will definitely be back.

Lovely place to stay!

We can not say enough good things about this gem! This was our second stay at Whale"s Tale Cottage. It is a beautiful and comfortable cottage with a nice wrap around porch.. The caretakers go above and beyond to always make our stay great! Looking forward to our next visit.

Not a 3 Bedroom

We stayed at Whale's Tale Cottage in the beginning of June. We selected it because it was advertised as a 3 bedroom home. When we arrived we were disappointed to find that the 3rd "bedroom" was simply a twin bed crammed into a non air-conditioned laundry room. No one was able to sleep there. There was no breeze and the room was never cooler than 85 degrees. Additionally, we came by boat and asked several times for directions to the dock. We were finally able to get GPS coordinates, but the approaching channel is not well marked and there was no fresh water at the dock. We were excited to have a golf cart offered to us, but we were hesitant to go down many of the beach access roads because the brakes were nearly ineffective. The home was in a good location near a beautiful beach that allowed our kiddos to collect a lot of sea glass. It was also nice to have a washer and dryer. Whale's Tale Cottage was not as advertised.
