Let us know if you’d like to also enjoy sleds or a cozy winter campfire! Thank you for staying with us! If you're looking for the perfect retreat in a country setting you have just found it! This new construction with cottage home connected to a large garage is centrally located between Traverse City and Elk Rapids. The cottage home has a master suite, large loft and a 3-piece guest bath. This cottage is designed with your comfort in mind. There is sleeping room for up to 9 people with 2 queen beds, 3 twin beds and a pull-out sofa sleeper. The home is furnished with hardwood floors throughout, central air, and open concept kitchen, dining and living area. You'll love the interior, but the custom patio, fire pit and grill is what will keep you coming back time and time again.

*Kitchen includes Quartz counter tops, microwave, dishwasher, toaster oven, hot plate, griddle & crock pot, and all the utensils you will need (due to township regulations a stove and oven is not permitted)
*Living room with large flat screen tv and cozy furnishing
*2 full-bathrooms with walk-in custom tile showers & bath linens, and hair dryers
*Master Bedroom with queen bed, all the linens you will need and flat screen tv
*Large loft with two separate sleeping area with 3 twin beds, queen bed and pull-out sofa sleeper. All linens are included.
*Back porch with gas grill and sitting area with large stairs leading down to the custom patio and fire pit.
*Fire pit with large fire ring, table and chairs, perfect for a relaxing evening enjoying the Michigan outdoors. Firewood available for purchase.
*Dog friendly (extra $50 pet fee for 1-2 dogs)

Excellent motel for our half-way home stop.

Extremely clean and property, inside and outside. Beautiful suite, comfortable and nice breakfast with, perhaps, the best motel coffee we've had in many years.

Easy and beautiful

This was a great place to stay on our visit to the area and Sleeping Bear Dunes. While still an hour away from the dunes all the space in between and near by provided all that we needed, traverse city, pie, wine, beaches. The place was clean, well laid out, stocked, and very easy to check in to, hosts were very helpful and kind.

Fantastic venue

We stayed at this property for nearly a week. A true hidden gem! Private, country setting yet 15-20 minutes to the fun things to do in Traverse City. Will stay here again if we ever make it back!

Perfect little getaway!

We had so much fun at the little house, they had sleds we could use and it was nice to just hangout. My girls loved the games that were provided to use during our stay and the cows were an added bonus. Also, communication was great!

Cozy and quiet

It was a great place to stay. Very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed seeing the cows each morning. It’s a country setting but very close to all we needed including Meijer and Grand Traverse Resort. A clean place where we could sleep and cook our own meals and relax in between while including our dog in the stay.

A Wonderful Return Visit!

We love everything about this idyllic little home that's just a short distance from Traverse City. It's so clean, well-appointed, quiet and comfortable. Best of all, Kara and Eric are friendly, welcoming hosts to us and our lovable 98-pound dog, Dilly. We know that this is the place we will always try to book! The nearby cows are a bonus--when we spot them! We WILL be back, whenever we can slip away to our home-away-from home!

An Adorable Home in a Great Area

This little house is situated in the middle of the country but just minutes from all kinds of fun. It was so quiet there - we slept so well. The bed was comfortable and the place was so clean. We were very impressed by the workmanship in the house and especially the cleanliness. Cara was a great communicator and was very welcoming as well.

Wonderful

This property was perfect for our high school bass team. We had great parking for the trucks and boat and the house had everything we could possibly need. The hosts were wonderful! It was fun to have a fellow bass fisherman as a host.

Peaceful & dog friendly

This was the perfect spot for us and our dogs. It was a relaxing & comfortable place to come back to after our adventures each day. We loved being greeted by the cows every morning. The owners were on site & available, but not at all intrusive. They answered questions immediately. It's a great location to explore all the surrounding areas. We definitely want to come back!

New Year’s Eve Trip

My husband, my son, our Maltipoo and myself enjoyed the rental house. Everything we needed was supplied by the owner. It was a great spot to relax after going to Traverse City and Elk Rapids. My son really enjoyed having the large loft with foosball table to himself. Communication with the owner was excellent.

Wonderful Setting and Great Hosts

Our family of four stayed at the Little House in the Country for a long New Year's weekend. Our two boys really enjoyed having the large upstairs to themselves. The property was very clean and well appointed. Kara and Eric took care of everything and even left a welcome present upon our arrival. They were gracious hosts and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We will definitely be back!

Great place

8 of us used the property for our home base during a yearly golf trip and it served its purpose perfectly. It was clean and well stocked with what it should include. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere but you're 5 minutes to grand traverse resort and 10 minutes to lots in Traverse City. Great communication from the host before and during our visit. Highly recommend.

Country Haven

This is the second time I stayed here and the return was an easy decision, once I decided what I wanted to do in northern MI. It is clean, comfortable, peaceful and within easy drives to Sleeping Bear/Leelanau area; Traverse City, Petoskey and Mackinaw City. The owners are helpful and welcoming. They are on the same property, but non intrusive. Very pleasant areas to walk the dogs. I'll hopefully return!

Nice place with a good location

My wife and i enjoyed our stay at the little house in the country. The location between TC and Charlevoix worked out for our travel plans. It was a nice quiet setting and enjoyed sitting on the back deck in the morning watching the cows graze in the woods while eating our breakfast. The bed in the master bedroom was small, maybe a full sized. The rest of the house was nicely furnished and comfortable. Pat W. Kalamazoo Mi.

Beautiful and Relaxing Place!

We stayed -- with our dog -- for just two nights at this beautiful and relaxing home that offers so many amenities and little luxuries. Now we can't wait to return! It's just a short drive to Elk Rapids and also Traverse City, so it's perfect for any getaway to those areas. Kara was a gracious and welcoming host to us and to our dog. We're excited for our return trip to this place that now feels like our second home!

Overall, the house was roomy and comfortable. The only complaint we had was the bed pillows were very flat and uncomfortable. The house location to Traverse City and other places up north was very good. We enjoyed our time there.

We also love to vacation (have used VRBO/Home Away for years) and love the idea of helping others find and create the perfect vacation. Our cozy, country house won't be the perfect fit for everyone, but for those that want to be close to it all, but not in the thick of it all, this is a great place to kick your feet up and enjoy the quiet country setting and the cozy accommodations!
