Property was as advertised, but a few things you should know
Easy walking distance to lots of cafes, the Louvre, shopping, etc. We almost never used the nearby metro or taxis. From inside the apartment you can see the Seine, the cranes rebuilding Notre Dame, the foot and street traffic, vendors selling their art, etc. (trees obstruct some views). It really feels like you’re in the heart of the city - because you are.
However, with the central location comes street noise and we struggled with opening the windows to let the cool night air in, or keeping them closed and the rooms getting warm and stuffy. Traffic noise got a little quieter between 2-4am, but even at that time was fairly steady with a number of sirens. Noise-cancelling headphones might be the solution, if you can sleep with them.
Unfortunately, we arrived in a rare September heatwave (36C/97F) until the temps lowered to more normal 20-25C (68-76F). Out of the 3 couples on our trip, 2 opted to sleep elsewhere (one in a hotel with a/c and one at their quiet apartment in Versailles). Beds were firm and pillows were thin for our US taste, but we slept fine – mostly because we bought 2 fans ($150 USD total). Even with the cooler temps later in the week, we needed fans.
The apartment was furnished with bath towels, soaps for the shower, etc. Suitcase stands or dressers (and fans) would be nice, but we knew from the pictures there were none.
We'd opt for a place with air conditioning next time, but we're spoiled Americans so keep that in mind. The apartment was as described.
