The living area and master bedroom open onto the balcony overlooking the beautiful emerald water and that gorgeous white sandy beach. Pelican Beach Resort offers deeded private beach, beach service, kayak rentals, and indoor/outdoor pool, children's pool, hot tub, tennis courts, seasonal Gulf front beach bar, poolside deli cafe, a sundries shop, game room, covered parking, dry sauna, steam bath, spa and fitness center, picnic area with fire pits and grills, 24 hour front desk and security, on-site manager, banquet and conference facilities, plus the best part - the beach is right in front of you!

Our kitchen is updated with stainless appliances and granite counter tops. The master suite offers a king size bed while the guest bedroom offers 2 twin beds. Living room has a fold-out queen sofa bed for extra sleeping space along with a 55" LED TV and blu-ray player.

Great Rental Property

View was perfect, Unit was clean and updated. Close to everything. Tiki Bar and Cafe on Property was very convenient. Secured Resort, felt safe. Would definately stay here again. Contact with property owner was very easy!!!

Destin Pelican Resort

Lots of amenities...pools, hot tub, gym, etc. The cafe was open every other day. The beach is beautiful.

Amazing Experience!!

The condo is everything I hoped for...from the breathtaking views of the Gulf of America, to the convenient location close to shopping and restaurants, Tommy's condo checked all the boxes! The property amenities were outstanding. My only suggestion is softer and shorter bedroom pillows!! I felt like I was sleeping on a boulder. Otherwise, I plan on rebooking next winter!Destin is my second home.

Thanksgiving Getaway

This 2 bedroom 2 bath condo was perfect for our gathering. The beach was close, pools and hot tub were great, AND with it being off season, the resort wasn't jammed! Tommy is a great host, communication was good and any questions i had were answered promptly. Highly recommended!

Beautiful location and view

Our trip was fabulous! Tommy the owner is awesome at responding to me right away and helped with all questions! The location and view is amazing!!! Priceless!! My only complaints were the condo wasn’t that clean. I dropped something on the floor and it went under the master bed and there was so much dust bunnies under it & the ceiling fan had dust all over it. Also you can’t cook on their pots and pans as they are very old and eggs stuck to the pans so that was disappointing for trying to make breakfast for my family. They really need to invest in some new cookware asap for future guests. If you stay for a week you will have to wash towels for your family so bring laundry soap. The restaurant downstairs is open for breakfast & lunch and was pretty good. They also have a server if you rent the beach chairs & umbrella thru La Dolce Vita but please note you have to book that months in advance. Condo is centrally located for shopping, excursions and many restaurants. It’s a 45 min drive to 30A beach & Rosemary Beach . Would definitely visit Destin again it’s beautiful!!

Condo Great-Beach Access Terrible!

The condo itself was excellent! Wonderful view of the beach and the gulf of Mexico. The included washer and dryer came in handy as did the many appliances and utensils on the kitchen counter and in the cabinets. There's also a Keurig machine, so don't forget to bring the K-cups for coffee. As far as the beach situation at Pelican Beach Resort: Forget about actually being able to get a spot with a view of the water unless you are lucky enough to reserve a fairly expensive set of 2 beach chairs and an umbrella. If you don't make your reservations with La Dolce Vita Beach Rentals at least 2 weeks in advance of your stay you'll be placed in the 2nd or 3rd row staring at the back other chairs and umbrellas, and forget about setting up your own chairs and umbrellas with a view of the water.....it isn't allowed, and the beach chair vendor guys will relentlessly harass you to move your stuff to the back of the beach. We gave up and drove about 2 miles down Hwy 98 to Henderson State Park where for $6 you are able to set up your own chairs and umbrella with an uncrowded view of the beach and gulf. If I had been more vigilant in my research when selecting a resort to visit, I probably would have found someplace in a less busy area with much better and definitely much cheaper actual beach access!

Safety First, but overall a great trip!

Overall, our stay was great. The space was nice and as pictured. They provide some beach chairs and there were some beach toys there as well. Plenty of seating on the balcony and within the unit! That being said, there were a few concerns we had, which is why I gave the lesser rating. Our biggest concern was the electrical safety of the unit. We brought our mom’s down for Mother’s Day and we found the tv in their room (guest room with twin beds) was not working. After looking more, we found the outlet it was plugged into had burnt out, leaving a black residue on the outlet. We obviously did not try to plug it in anywhere else and the host said he would have it looked at as soon as we checked out. I will say, the lights in the connecting bathroom would also go off randomly. The only other issue we had was there were a number of bugs that seemed to be coming out of the sink. Not sure if it was a palmetto bug or something else. I would say we saw a minimum of 6 within our 3 days there. I will wrap up with more positive. We had a great trip and loved the number of pools and easy access to the beach! The location is very convenient and pretty easy to get around!

Spring Break

The property had everything we needed for spring break with our young granddaughter. The beach was a short walk from our condo and with three pools and two hot tubs, there was something for everybody. The management staff was very helpful and informative. I would highly recommend the Pelican Beach Resort for a truly lovely vacation spot.

Fun in the Sun

Every single thing about this place was amazing. 2 Hot tubs were hot, 2cool/warm pools and a unheated one. Our unit was clean and tidy. Great place to stay.

Our unit was a surprise as we had no idea what to expect . Clean, well appointed and a great view.

They are currently renovating the building. Noisy during the day which didn’t bother us. We are planning on a return trip so I think that says. It all. Good location for fine dining. The view was the best 👍

I booked this condo early summer it was just like the pictures show on the 9th floor beautiful view of the ocean close to a lot of shopping and site seeing would definitely recommend very clean too you will not be disappointed a week goes.fast when your having fun would recommend crab Island so much fun!

Wonderful Stay

I have nothing but positive things to say about our stay. Beautiful condo, beautiful view, and Tommy was very quick to respond to any need or concerns we had during our visit. The 2 pools were very nice as well. We will definitely plan to return in the future!

August 5 - 12 Stay

Condo overall is very nice. Decor is pleasant. The door from outside did not have a safety lock at top and was dirty. We put a chair under door knob. Beds are comfortable. There was minimal furniture on the terrace so sitting outside to enjoy the view not possible for multiple people. Pools are very nice and beac is fabulous. The Tiki Hut at the pool serves good food and drinks. Overall, very good.

Summer Softball Nationals Trip

The property was very well kept up. The only thing we didn’t like was that you couldn’t invite friends over. Since we were in town for Softball Nationals we had a lot of other friends staying in other locations. It would’ve been nice to have a few of them over.

Great place for families

Property is ideal for families with young kids. Check In was easy, Tommy’s condo was spotless clean and was much nicer than we expected. There was more than enough kitchen, bathroom and general supplies so we didn’t have to buy a ton at the store. Kitchen is well stocked to do just about any cooking you need. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced by the pool. Overall, we’d definitely plan to stay here again in this unit. Tommy was fast to respond with questions we had about the TV. Compared to other places we’ve stayed that we’re managed by an agency, being able yo contact the actual owner was something we’d never been able to do before. If you’re going to pelican beach resort, I’d highly recommend this unit for a couple with 2 kids.

Not the place for family trip

What they do tell you, location and fairly close to all the great places to eat or do in Destin. What they don't tell you, Not enough carts for check in or out, you will wait on an elevator at all hours of the day sometimes multiple trips before room, difficult to get in and out of the property considering road access. Rooms are smaller than portrayed, washer and dryer are super tiny for families. It depends on who runs your booking on what amenities you will receive. Security is a joke, all outdoor activities are to close at 10 which is no biggie but when outside we had security come by every 2-4 minutes to remind us that we had to be gone by 10 and started this process at 9:30. Two swimming pools and two hot tubs, the hot tub area that is next to the family swimming pool is for adults only and the secluded hot tub in its own gated area allows kids which causing a problem with everyone interested. Property charges for beach chairs and the property to the left and right on the beach won't allow you to set up in either direction. So the property chairs are set up just feet from the water and span the total width of the property with rules being you can't set up in front of any rented chair so the only spot you have to set up in behind all of the property chairs and if you set up back there the life guards will ask you to move for safety reasons. If you are a family or group stay away if you are a liberal ass Karen then this might be the place for you.

Our families bought this Pelican Beach condo in August of 2016 and immediately started renting the property through VRBO/HomeAway. We live in Northeast Mississippi and have frequently vacationed in Destin over the past 15 years.

Along with our Pelican Beach condo, we own a rental condo in Miramar Beach at the Tops'l Resort. Pelican Beach unit 916 was featured on HGTV's Beachfront Bargain Hunters shortly after we purchased the condo.
