El Tigre | Pet Friendly + Fenced Yard

From the moment you drive up to your pueblo-style vacation home, El Tigre, you’ll know a great Southwestern mountain vacation awaits you. Located on the north side of Ruidoso, you’ll be close to the shops, restaurants and entertainment of this scenic mountain town. Plus, you’re within easy driving distance of the Ski Apache Resort, great fishing and hiking trails in the Lincoln National Forest. Best of all, your pets are welcome to join you at El Tigre! There’s a fenced backyard where they can romp to their heart’s content.

El Tigre has spaced out front for two cars to park. The unique entry to your split-level home is another fun aspect to staying at El Tigre. You enter the home through a tiled porch on the upper floor of the home, which is on the same level where your car is parked. On this level, you’ll find your primary bedroom and half bath. However, to reach the rest of your vacation home, go down the stairs into the open living space.

On the main, lower floor, there’s a spacious room that encompasses your living, dining and kitchen areas along with a ¾ bath. Beautiful hardwood floors run throughout much of this space. Your main living area includes a comfortable couch and recliner both with a good view of your cable TV with DVD player. Gather your group around for a favorite movie or a game on the coffee table. You also have free Wi-Fi within El Tigre so you can check out websites for area attractions and send photos to friends back home.

The El Tigre kitchen is outfitted with a gas stove, stainless steel counters and all the serving and cookware you’ll need during your stay. Though there is no dishwasher, you have a large, deep sink, a microwave, toaster oven, refrigerator, and the all-important coffee pot.

There’s also a gas grill out on the deck so you can cook up some steaks or chicken for your group. Sliding glass doors lead out onto your deck and fenced yard.

Of course, there are a number of excellent restaurants in Ruidoso and you’ll probably want to visit these on many evenings.

If you do dine in at El Tigre, you’ll find a lovely round dining table with upholstered chairs next to the kitchen. This is a great place to gather for dinner or for a game of Uno or Bridge with your group.

When it’s time for bed, head up the stairs to your primary bedroom. With its king-sized bed and many windows out onto the forested area around El Tigre, you’ll fall in love with this restful retreat. Your room has its own wall-mounted flat-screen TV and ceiling fan to gently lull you off to dreamland.

When you wake up head in for a shower in the primary bathroom. In minutes you’ll be dressed and ready to enjoy your first cup of morning coffee.

If a guest travels with you to El Tigre, he or she can bed down on the double-bed futon in the main living area. The half bathroom, also on the ground floor level, is where you’ll find a washer and dryer. What a convenience this is. No visiting the Laundromat. Just start a load of wash and head off to visit the ski resort, golf course, or hiking trail.

El Tigre is an excellent destination year-round. However, if you visit in the colder months, we encourage you to bring a four-wheel drive vehicle or else put chains on your two-wheel drive vehicle. Ruidoso is a mountain town and the area gets snowy and icy. Come prepared.
