The Space:
Perla del Mar is your ultimate beach retreat located in the heart of Maunabo, Puerto Rico. Nestled amidst the natural splendor of the Punta Tuna Wetlands Nature Reserve, this clean and spacious three-bedroom, two-bathroom haven offers breathtaking ocean views.
Perla del Mar comfortably sleeps up to six guests and features a washer and dryer, 2 assigned parking spaces, and air conditioning in all bedrooms and living spaces.
Enjoy the complex's pool, tennis courts, and basketball court, or take a leisurely walk to the Punta Tuna Lighthouse. The beautiful Punta Tuna Beach is just an 10-15 minute stroll away, promising endless days of sun, sea, and sand.
LIVING AND DINING AREAS
The open-concept living area is perfect for relaxing and socializing. The dining area, with a 4-person dining table, flows seamlessly into the the living room, which offers a comfy sofa and flat-screen TV. The living room connects to an oceanfront balcony with stunning views and two chairs to sit back and relax.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
With three bedrooms, Perla del Mar comfortably sleeps six guests. The master bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed, an oceanfront furnished private balcony, a flat screen TV, blackout curtains, and an ensuite full bathroom. The second and third bedroom both also have a queen bed, a flat screen TV, AC and blackout curtains.
PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):
We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.
KITCHEN
The fully equipped kitchen makes meal prep a breeze, featuring a refrigerator, freezer, microwave, oven, stovetop, and coffee maker, along with plenty of counter space.
GETTING AROUND & PARKING
Renting a car is a must when staying at Perla del Mar. The property includes two (2) assigned parking spots.
You will need it to move around to nearby restaurants, shops, and the many beaches in the vicinity. Also you will want to have a car to explore the rest of the island.
Ubers are not readily available in the area, which is why we recommend having your own means of transportation.
LOCATION
Perla del Mar is situated in the heart of Maunabo, Puerto Rico, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Punta Tuna Wetlands Nature Reserve. Explore the historic Punta Tuna Lighthouse just a short 10-15 minute walk away, or venture further to discover the vibrant culture and cuisine of Puerto Rico.
Besides enjoying the beautiful villa and all amenities on offer, there are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites:
Chill at the beach! It is one of our favorite beaches in Puerto Rico and a must-do if you are staying at Perla del Mar. The apartment has beach chairs, towels, and a cooler for a long day at the beach. The beach is just an 8-10 minute stroll.
Take a hike! This lush wetland reserve spans 1.4 miles of coastline, just north of the Faro Punta Tuna. Interpretive trails through the mangroves and along the beach impart interesting information about the ecology, flora and fauna, and a lookout tower makes it easier to spot wildlife, especially in the mornings.
Visit the historic Punta Tuna Lighthouse just a 10-15 minute walk away! The Punta Tuna Lighthouse was built in the 1890s by the Spanish government to serve the south-eastern coast of the Island. Sitting atop a small peninsula, the views from the lighthouse are some of the Island's best.
Go on a roadtrip to nearby beaches! Here you have the name of a few beaches we recommend nearby: El Cocal Beach, Balneario Playa Lucía, Playa Maunabo, Playa Bohio, Los Pinos Beach, Emajaguas Beach, and Playa Negra (great surfing beach).

STARTER AMENITIES
At West Indies Vacation Rentals, we strive to provide top-notch amenities, ensuring our guests feel at home during their stay.
All properties come with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest.
We provide a set of disposable essentials to help you get your vacation started comfortably. These include:
- 1 set of hotel-size soap and shampoo (per bathroom)
- 3 garbage bags
- 1 roll of paper towels
- 2 rolls of toilet paper (per bathroom)
- 1 dish soap
- 1 dish sponge
- A small amount of laundry detergent
Please note that we do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is the guest’s responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock any additional items needed for the duration of the stay.
Most properties also include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler. You may reach out to us 5 days before arrival for confirmation.
HOUSE RULES
RENTAL AGREEMENT: All bookings require a signed Short-Term Rental Agreement, which will be sent upon confirmation of your reservation. Guests must upload a valid photo ID (no selfies) that matches the name on the credit card used for the booking. The agreement must be signed within 48 hours of booking or prior to entering the property, whichever comes first. Check-in instructions will not be provided until the agreement is completed.
NO SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. A $500 smoking fee will be charged if this rule is violated.
NO PETS: While we are pet lovers, pets are not permitted at the property at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if this rule is violated, and guests may be asked to leave the property.
QUIET HOURS: Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Please be mindful of noise during these hours out of respect for nearby residents/neighbors.
UTILITIES (WATER & ELECTRICITY): In the event of an interruption to water or electrical service, the host is not responsible for hotel, alternate lodging, or transportation expenses. If service is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests may cancel the reservation and request a refund for unused nights only. Nights already used are non-refundable.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: The maximum occupancy is 6 adults/children at all times, including visitors.
OCCUPANCY ENFORCEMENT: Occupancy limits are strictly enforced. Exceeding the maximum occupancy may result in immediate cancellation of the reservation or removal from the property without refund.
TOWELS & LINENS: Towels and linens are provided for normal use only. Please do not use them for cleaning or allow them to be stained with food, grease, or other substances. Charges may apply for damaged or stained items.
TOWEL HANGING: Please do not hang towels or any other items to dry in areas visible from outside the unit. A $100 community fine may apply if this rule is violated.
SUBLETTING: Subletting or re-renting the property is not permitted.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT TIMES
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM, and since this is a self-check-in unit, you can arrive anytime after that.
If you’d like to check in earlier, please contact us the day before your arrival, and we’ll confirm availability. When possible, early check-in typically starts around 11:00 AM. Please note that early check-in is subject to availability and depends on our cleaning schedule.
If you need a guaranteed early check-in, you will need to book from the night prior to ensure the property is ready upon your arrival.
Check-out time is at 11:00 AM. For late check-out requests, please reach out the day before your departure, and we’ll be happy to check availability for you.
TRAVEL INSURANCE / HURRICANE SEASON
We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, not only during the peak months of Hurricane Season (July to October) but also throughout the year to cover unexpected events such as travel delays, pandemics, or other unforeseen issues.
Travel insurance is inexpensive and can reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, coverage will depend on the policy purchased. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase.
