Whalesong House är utformat av hjärtträved, och är ett charmigt tvåvåningshus med ett välutrustat, fullt kök, ett angränsande matrum och ett vardagsrum med vedspis. Designad av en av ägarna, den tre fot sfäriska fontänen, Global Peace, som punkterar dussintals ljungar, lavendelar och prydnadsgräs i trädgården, har blivit ett landmärke i Trinidad. Och Byrd Baker, "gammaltimern" från Mendocino, som i sin lilla skiff en gång blockerade ett japanskt valfångsskepp, snidade drivvedvalens insignier, som hänger vid toppen av husets yta. Gorgeous beach retreat

This house is so serene and close to the ocean. We stayed here two out of three nights on an extended weekend getaway. I cannot say enough about how sweet this spot is. We would return in a heartbeat!

Loved it!!

Great location that is central to the Redwoods parks. Can walk right down to the beach. Hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking. Very glad we chose this rental for our trip.

Whalesong house

Our family lives near Trinidad and this space is great to be close to them and the ocean! Trinidad is a very walkable town, great access to state beach and Trinidad head.The house itself is open, comfortable lots of windows, plenty of dishes and flatware. We have stayed here many times and look forward to return!

Lovely stay

My family of four had a very nice stay in Trinidad. The property manager reached out the day before our stay to inform us we could check in early. The home was clean and had lots of space for everyone. While we had a few issues, the property manager was highly responsive. Two little things that could be fixed to create an even better experience: the dishwasher door is incredibly loud/creaky and weatherstripping is needed at the base of the main door as there is a small gap that ended up letting rain and cold air in. Overall, great stay and I would recommend to others.

Great views and location

Amazing place

Sunsets from the second story balcony are not to be missed. The hot tub is great and private. Fire place is a perfect place to read by and the location cannot be beat.

Just the right place for us

This comfortable house in the middle of Trinidad offered just the right amenities for our stay on the coast for 4 adults and 2 kids. We like to cook so the fully-equipped kitchen was a plus. The backyard allowed the kids to play in a safe place. Views of the bay and ocean were just right. Quiet neighborhood within walking distance to stores, restaurants, aquarium, and beach was another asset. And a wood stove for extra heat and ambience was another plus.

Beautiful View, but…

Bad communication with the local management company, as in we didn’t hear from them until after being there for a full day. Also, why are there so many mirrors in this house? But great location, ocean views, walking distance to local shops/food, close driving distance to the mini grocery store as well. Would stay again.

Amazing location and house!

We loved everything about this house! We had 4 adults and one kid and there was plenty of room for everyone. You could not ask for a better location. It was just 1/2 a block away from the best restaurant and shop in town, and an easy walk to the beach, although it's kind of steep in the way back from the beach. The house had everything you needed, and the yard was phenomenal. Our kid was ready to move in permanently. The only downside is the house is really creaky. If you have light sleepers they will want ear plugs or white noise.

Gorgeous Location. Less than optimal communication.

The property was a very unique, beautiful home with lots of character and a near perfect location. The beds were very comfortable, the only issues we had were partially out of their control, partially not. There were many dead bugs on the ground in the upper bedroom, ants in the kitchen upon arrival. One of the pillows in the bedrooms smelled strongly of perfume/ cologne as if it was not cleaned… We had difficulties with communication as there were multiple numbers texting/ calling regarding check in but no responses on the VRBO app. There was a city wide water outage predicted for weeks but we were not notified until the night before once we had already checked in. The water outage turned out to not affect the home, but most of the surrounding businesses we had planned to go to were closed. Had we had enough notice, we would have adjusted our dates accordingly. The home worked well for our stay, I would say we would give it another shot for future stays, there is just room for improvement from the management side. .

Great View & outdoor space

I enjoyed the stay here overall. I liked the open concept living room and kitchen. There's also a great loft area, and almost every corner had a good view of the water. The location is excellent! It's walking distance to the beach, trails and restaurants. The couple things I wasn't the most fond of were that it was dusty in the bedrooms, and the beds were just OK comfort-wise. It might be fine if you're below 6' and prefer a firmer style bed.

Hidden treasure!

If you’re planning a family vacation to the Redwoods and trying to figure out where to stay, stop scrolling and book now! Whalesong and the whole town of Trinidad is a charming, walkable treasure! The views from the back deck are beautiful, and the garden in back is incredibly private. There wasn’t one thing we didn’t like about our stay here. We have two kids, a teen and a preteen, and they didn’t want to leave. It’s not fancy, but it has everything you need with nicely updated bathrooms (with excellent water pressure if you care about that), a nice family-friendly game collection, and every book you could ever want to read. Seriously, just book it!

Place was very nice, communication not great though

The cottage was great for our family including young-adult children. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well-equipped and they layout was fantastic. We had one member who needed to do some work and there is a small upstairs "office" space and a desk in the laundry area that worked well for him. The upstairs deck was lovely, and the outside/backyard area was very pleasant. The location was fantastic - short walk to town or beach. Main downside was lack of communication both before the trip and during - you are dealing with a company rather than a single owner, and the instructions for getting in, communication in general was poor.
