Prioritizing a pleasing and restful stay, you'll find our cabin equipped for the most discerning guests to be your home-away-from-home. Grab a latte at Broad Porch Coffee Co., or bring your favorite roast to the cabin and enjoy a french press or drip. A fully-stocked kitchen and outdoor gas grill present you with opportunities to cook in comfort; or, choose to visit one of the many restaurants in downtown Luray.

Enjoy the view of the George Washington National Forest through our many floor-to-ceiling windows while taking comfort in our mid-century styled living room. Our two bedrooms and a one of-a-kind, modern bathroom will house two to four guests comfortably. Enjoy the inviting fireplace while you unwind, or take in a movie on the flatscreen TV that supports streaming services via WiFi.

The outdoor amenities at the Black Walnut are just as inviting. Two private patios with plenty of outdoor seating provide you with options to take in the starlit sky. The cabin is less than half a mile from the Shenandoah River and a stocked fishing pond. Put in your canoe, kayak or tube at the boat launch, or you could begin your day with our friends at Shenandoah River Outfitters for a relaxing day on the river, located less than a mile away.

The Black Walnut is nestled around a variety of wineries, breweries and distilleries. Enjoy a glass of wine after visiting the Luray Caverns, or one of the many nearby hiking trails and return to comfort in our fully-equipped, newly renovated cabin. Our doors are open to you!

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, the driveway is a gravel or hard packed dirt surface. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing their property from these roads as long as you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.
