Excellent trip. Excellent getaway with nature, with the ability to drive around and even go into DC for a few days. The area is very quaint and relaxed and a lot of nice eating options too. The house is awesome!

Deer Haven was the perfect getaway for our family. We loved spending the evenings on the deck or by the fire and can't wait to go back. The hosts, John and Matthew have thought of everything and were easy to reach by email and text throughout the planning and when we arrived. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay, look no further!

The house was wonderful!! The location is amazing although our GPS said we had arrived well before we got to the top of the mountain. We enjoyed the house, the deck, the hot tub and all the wild life that we saw! John is very responsive and answers questions quickly! We would definitely come back!

So glad you enjoyed your stay, Donna! For future renters, I send a welcome email with detailed directions noting that your GPS will not get you all the way to the cabin. As long as you review these once you are off the main road and on your way up to the house, you'll make it just fine.

We really enjoyed our stay at Deerhaven. The hosts John and Matt responded right away with any of our concerns or questions and the place was well stocked with towels and supplies we felt right at home. The views were amazing we saw a couple of deer and wild turkeys, squirrels and a turtle come up the mountain in the yard. The bed was very comfy plenty of blankets and pillows. We definitely recommend a stay at Deerhaven we give it 5 Stars. John and Denise

The property was stunning! It was extremely clean and the owners were wonderful! If you are looking for the perfect getaway to relax and unwind this is it. There was lots of room and the morning sunrise and evening sunsets will take your breath away. The only slight con on this location is the very narrow drive up to the house. I would suggest arriving during daylight hours as doing it the first time in the dark was a little scary. But during the day the drive was fine. The hosts were super helpful and very responsive. Would definitely come back again!

We had a wonderful weekend at Deer Haven! Honestly, it’s the best VRBO we’ve ever stayed at. The property was beautiful, exceptionally well-maintained, and spotlessly clean. There were plenty of towels, pillows, dishes, and cookware, and the hot tub was absolutely delightful. The views were outstanding!Even before we arrived, communication was excellent, and the welcome packet had everything we needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable.John and Matt truly know how to run a successful VRBO. They could give classes to other VRBO owners on how to do it right! We can’t recommend Deer Haven highly enough and would love to stay again.

Our stay at Deer Haven was great. We appreciated the heads up on the driving directions, the gps pretty much got us there but it was nice knowing it might be a little confusing.

The highlight of this house is the beautiful view of the mountains and the gorgeous sunsets. John sent so much information about the house and the surrounding area ahead of check-in, which was very helpful. His directions to the house were perfect, and we found it without a problem, but we were glad we had a four-wheel-drive vehicle to navigate up the mountain. The water did have a strong sulphur smell, which we were informed about before check-in, so we brought plenty of drinking water with us. We enjoyed the local wineries, breweries and restaurants, well.

So glad you enjoyed your time and found the welcome packet helpful. Yes, though the well water is treated through an ultraviolet system and is fine to drink, it can sometimes have a sulphur smell. If you are sensitive to this, probably best to bring some drinking water.

Everything was wonderful! The views were spectacular. There were just 2 of us, but another couple and small family would have plenty of room. I would recommend thisnto anyone.

When I booked this home, it was originally for a total of 3. Then 4 others decided to join us due to the beautiful location and the activities we planned on doing ( dual sport/OHV trail riding). This house was roomy enough for all of us ( we cleared it with the home owner first) and very close to the trails. Lots of towels, very nice appliances, comfy beds, extremely private.

We had a wonderful stay with the most amazing view! Watching the sunset from the deck, sitting by the fireplace, and looking at the stars from the hot tub were definitely highlights.

Wonderful stay! Great views, inviting hot tub, wonderful fireplace. Great set up for our annual, family Christmas gathering. Plenty of room and very clean. Easy check in and check out. Close to a grocery and historical sites. Definitely would stay here again.

Absolutely the most gorgeous views and a beyond peaceful and secluded location! The hot tub under the stars at night and making smores around the firepit was the highlight of the trip. The only recommendation we could offer to other guests - if you are at all picky about water - bring bottled water with you. Otherwise, this was an amazing cabin!

The kitchen was perfect to have dinners with everyone! We BBQd, used the stove and oven. Had plenty of cooking utensils. The view was spectacular at any temperature and any time of day or night. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, inside and in the hot tub. When it got too warm, the air conditioning was awesome. Everything worked as described!
