Very lovely place, and would be a great stay. The house is surrounded by lake on 3 sides, which is very cool! The kitchen is well equipped and clean. Beds were comfy. If you're staying on the futon downstairs during the winter, just make sure to bring some extra layers as it can get a bit chilly a night. The provided space heater was very appreciated. Overall awesome stay and highly recommend to others.

Overall good and exactly what we needed. Kitchen was well supplied. No complaints here! Great for a small team, as it's relatively close to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.

My husband & I, along with our dogs, spent 9 wonderful days here. The welcome basket and fresh flowers were much appreciated when we arrived after dark. The lodge is beautifully decorated with comfortable furnishings, cozy pillows and blankets, everything we (avid cooks) needed in the kitchen, lots of books, a heated bathroom floor, comfy beds, a fabulous fireplace (with a jackalope), and great outdoor spaces to commune with nature (especially the cool bed on the front porch). The indoor plants and outside landscaping are beautiful. We also loved the focus on environmentally friendly practices such as composting & recycling and use of "green" products. I just can't say enough about the attention to detail shown by the owners. The location worked well for us since we took the dogs to Dog Mountain in St. Johnsbury (some good restaurants in St J). A short drive to Hardwick for a nice coffee shop and restaurants. Also loved Willey's store in Greensboro, Pete's Greens in Craftsbury, and Miller's Thumb for local art/crafts. Caspian Lake is just down the road from Willey's; nice for swimming. In the lodge, Leslie has a basket filled with brochures and info about everything. We got lots of great day trip info from that basket. ***Would highly recommend you set your GPS before leaving the lodge since cell service/connectivity is spotty. We drove with a paper Vermont road map that we referred to a number of times. Traveling with dogs can be a hassle because it's not easy to find nice accommodations that allow them. We travel with our "crew" frequently, are mindful to respect our surroundings, and very much appreciate that we were able to stay in such a beautiful home with our dogs! VRBO should allow hosts to post reviews specific to folks who've travelled with dogs. It might make it a little easier for those of us who are looking for nice dog-friendly lodging options. I know another reviewer commented on being able to hear some "road noise". The lodge is in the woods and it's not that far off the road. It's a rural road however, and we in no way thought the occasional car or truck noise was at all intrusive. We travel quite a bit and overall this is one of the nicest homes we've ever stayed in (with or without the dogs!).
