Find mountain rentals near Gulf of Gaeta

The villa is very well located in the mountains but close enough to the coast. Formia is very pretty and we particularly liked Sperlonga with its little alleyways and shops and Geata. Our party learned to windsurf on the beachfront. The villa is lovely. It’s roomy with high ceilings. It’s superbly equipped. We didn’t need anything. There are lots of places to sit in sun and shade and the pool is beautiful. The hosts looked after a flower filled garden and were helpful without being intrusive. I would thoroughly recommend. We wish we’d booked two weeks.

The Villa was beautiful. It has everything you need for a really relaxed comfortable stay, it is spacious and airy and the patio and pool area was perfect, the beds were really comfortable and the kitchen area had literally everything you could possibly need. We would really recommend it as a place to stay. Paola, the lady letting us in and showing us around the villa was really lovely, and we got by despite my hopeless attempts to speak Italian!. The area of San Felice Circeo was really pretty quiet during our stay, but I think this was because it was May, the start of the season. Our only criticism of the area is that the coastline, apart from a couple of very small areas, is almost entirely inaccessible unless you pay for it…. it’s hard to even see the coastline unless you have paid for entry to a private beach bar and sunbeds. I don’t mind paying for sunbeds, but the way each business is set up one next to the other, with beach hats and bars in the way of the view, it has left the coastline so closed off, that it does unfortunately affect the beauty of the place.

A charming, cute and lovely sized house for us. With all the amenities and facilities that you could wish for in a self-catering place. We were very impressed with the provisions - eg, cooking utensils, beach towels, deck chairs, beach bags, herb garden etc. Kitchen had gorgeous views. Property was tastefully decorated, providing many little homely touches. Beware, there are stairs up to the house and up to the mezzanine bedroom floor. Bathroom is on this floor and has a sloped ceiling, but we quickly got use to it. The house is the most photographed property on the beach! The pretty potted plants and flowers added to the charm. So did the added daily activities of the local fisherman tending their boats outside our windows. We were lucky to have been introduced to a lovely enthusiastic female taxi driver called Loredana. Not only did she provide transport to the port, but provided an excellent 3 hour introduction tour to Ischia island. This gave us a glimpse of what was available and where to return to for our day trips. Her local knowledge and stories about Ischia were very entertaining. Communication with Peppino and Francesco were faultless. They were friendly, thoughtful and helpful. Nothing was too much for them. We would definitely return!

Cristina was an outstanding host, always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. She was incredibly helpful and attentive, far exceeding what you’d normally expect from a host. The flat itself is spacious and fully equipped, offering all the comforts of home. It’s in an ideal location, right by the harbor and town center, making it easy to explore and enjoy the surroundings. It truly felt like a home away from home.

We had a magical stay at Villa Martina and would highly recommend it as a wonderful place to base yourself on Ischia. Augusto, Eva and Enzo are a lovely, caring family and they went out of their way to make sure that we were very well taken care of including driving us to the supermarket when we first arrived (we decided not to hire a car as we have a 10 month old baby), picking us up in a heavy downpour when the roads had turned into rivers (not ideal for a pram!) and their general day-to-day interaction was a fantastic bonus to our stay! The accommodation itself is comfortable, we slept well and were easily able to self cater with the provisions provided (the dishwasher was an added perk). As for the grounds, they are stunning - you have free use of a lovely pool area with views out across the bay (which reminded us of stays at SLHs, pre baby!). The Villa is within easy walking distance to a couple of supermarkets, Panza is a nice, working Italian village about 15 mins walk away (with restaurants) and it is about a 5 minute walk to a bus stop - which for us was the key to exploring the island. The buses were safe, regular and it was easy to access the beach (including Poseidon thermal baths), Forio, Santo Angelo (a lovely village - the "Capri" of the island) and Ischia Port (this was the furthest we ventured and took about 40 minutes. It was a memorable stay and we were lucky that there was availability for our dates. The family truly deserve the 5 stars.

A beautiful house with every attention given to detail, huge spaces including the best terrace I have seen, and the room are very comfortable (and air conditioned!). A wonderful stay

Ideal appartment for spectacular views and ideal for a family of adults. Good bus route, better with car. Quieter part of town, restaurant and spa's close by.

From check in to check out and beyond Valentina could not have been more helpful. She gave us lots of useful information about the island and locality, even her own production of a map containing everything we needed. A little away from the busy areas which was exactly what we wanted. Store and brilliant deli in easy walking distance and they all deliver. Plenty of sun beds and bikes available for guest use.
