Find ski-in/ski-out rentals near Vai Palm Grove

We stayed at Villa Manika at the beginning of July and had a wonderful time. The villa is a short drive to Sitia with shops, a beautiful harbour and lots of cafes and restaurants. We had a hire car but got a taxi a few times in the evening which was 8 Euros each way. The villa was very spacious, clean and well equipped, we also liked that it was laid out on one level. The pool was beautiful, it was a great size and the water temperature was perfect. Upon making our reservation Despina and Pantelis sent us emails with some suggestions on places to visit and restaurant recommendations which was very helpful. One suggestion would be that a welcome pack is provided with some essentials such as milk and bread etc, we had a very long journey so it would of been nice not to have to go to the supermarket immediately upon arrival. The only thing we felt that could be improved upon is an upgrade to the outdoor furniture and unfortunately the large parasol by the pool had a base which was unable to support it when the wind picked up and it kept getting blown over which could be dangerous. We noticed around the harbour area that the restaurants have their parasol bases bolted in the ground which might be a good idea. We very much enjoyed our stay here and it was a great base for exploring the eastern part of Crete. We would definitely stay at Villa Manika again when visiting this beautiful unspoilt part of the island. Thank you Pantelis and Despina for a wonderful stay.

A very unusual and quirky place to stay, it has been converted to a comfortable holiday home on a number of levels ( so you need to have full mobility). Our host was very warm and welcoming and we had some very interesting conversations. the beds were very comfortable , the kitchen was well equipped too. It was a peaceful location set in beautiful gardens off the main road but it was very easy to visit the next village of Palekastro for shopping and eating in the tavernas. Not far into Siteia if you want a busier place. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit to take in the atmosphere. We would recommend for couples and small groups. If you enjoy touring and exploring there are some lovely beaches within 20 to 50 minutes drives depending on your choices. If you like quiet and peaceful beaches try Itanos and Xerocampos. A great holiday, will return.

We have just had a fabulous 10 days at Oceanis and completely fallen in love with Eastern Crete. The property is a calm oasis and so beautifully maintained. Pool delightful and always sunbeds available plus a hammock and other shady spots to escape for a snooze or read..... The apartments are lovely with big bedrooms but kitchen rather small to cook in....not a problem as there are so many wonderful restaurants in Sitia! But the best part is certainly the Cretan hospitality....Nectarios and his family looked after us so well with top tips for where to visit and a cold frappe or wine in the late afternoon. They made us feel incredibly welcome and contributed to a great holiday experience. Must do's....Vai beach, Richtis Gorge, drive over mountains to Xerocampus beaches and coves. We will be back!
