  • Peaceful, comfortable get away.

"Beautifully decorated cottage with high ceilings and large balcony and a view to die for! Well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and good shower. The Wifi is fast. High up on a hill so beach access is 10 minute walk down the road with many steps back up for a good aerobic work out! Easy drive to many different beaches and hiking areas. Highly recommended"

  • Wonderful

"Our family (we have two kids), plus two grandparents, spent some time in Steve's cabin this January (2015), and had a truly wonderful time during our stay. Our kids are very young, and they had so much fun exploring the cabin. We found the place easy (directions were clear), and it was well prepared for our visit: everything was very clean and tidy. The cabin is very inviting, cozy, and quite spacious - there was plenty of room for sleep (3 bedrooms) and hang out (downstairs and upstairs). The kitchen was very well stocked, we cooked most of our meals. Linen and towels were plentiful and clean. We were lucky to be there during a heavy snowfall, we all loved watching it, and going out with kids to play. The wood stove served us well to warm up after we came back inside. One thing we didn't have time to enjoy was the sauna. The cabin is a short drive to Whistler, we went there a couple of times during our stay, for lunch and to walk around. We didn't go skiing/snowboarding, but, the cabin is a good base for winter activities in Whistler. The cabin is located close to a railroad, but, the trains go by very infrequently (twice a day or so), and they were not annoying (on the contrary, kids liked watching them go by). Our correspondence with Steve was very clear and easy (e-mail, phone). Thanks Steve, we hope to come back and visit your cabin again! Davor and family"

  • The best vacation place for a family with children

"We had an totally wonderful experience at the South Garden Vacation Rental. There were 9 adults and 5 children, all under 6 for a week-long family reunion in July 2016. The house is very well designed for a large group of people, with a separate bathroom for each bedroom, and a large dining and playing area, well-stocked kitchen, outside grill, safe fenced area outside for children to play and picture perfect flower garden. There is space enough both for privacy and for joint activities on the second floor. Children enjoyed the playground in the yard with a sandbox, swings, sea-saw, croquet, badminton - all provided by our hosts. There are a lot of toys and board games for children inside the house too for different ages, so the children could be entertained in all kinds of weather. The house is surrounded by trees and spectacular flowers, pretty enough to be published in a Home and Garden magazine, it feels very secluded yet it is just a few minutes drive from the fun village of Harrison Hot Springs with a good choice of restaurants, sandy beach, shallow water for small children to swim and wade near the lagoon and a water park, boat rentals on the Harrison Lake - for older children and adults. There are amazingly beautiful views and hiking trails within short driving distance from the rental. Quite a challenging climb up a rocky hill can be accessed right from the back deck of the house. A built water-fall from the near-by rock provided peaceful background sound of falling water day and night and a joy for the eyes every time you happen to look at it. Plenty of outdoor activities both for adults and children - hiking, rock-climbing, boating, biking country roads, picking blueberries at a farm field, watching happy chickens at the Happy Chicken Farm, goats, pigs. The owners, Jacquie and John were very welcoming and gracious - the best hosts one can wish to have! They stayed in another building on the same property, and they were very easy to reach if we had a question, yet they gave us a sense of privacy, as if we were totally alone in their beautiful home. We would highly recommend this vacation place for large groups of people both with children and without. We are looking forward to our future visits at this rental property. Thank you, Jacquie and John for providing such a delightful experience for all 14 of us. Marina and Bill"

  • First home away from "home"

"I recently had to move to the coast for a career opportunity. As a newly graduated student, with very few options available on the coast, I was given an affordable option and offered to live in the gorgeous carriage house, on Welcome Beach, for 2 months. Not having to worry about moving all of my belongings over right away was a huge stress reliever and gave me the opportunity to settle into my career and new surroundings. It also gave me the chance to look around and find a more permanent place to live. The carriage house is beautiful, with a stunning view of the ocean in the front, and forest like setting in the back. The owners of the property were extremely accommodating and friendly, in assuring my stay included everything I needed. They went above and beyond to help with my transition to life on the Coast. I would highly recommend the carriage suite to anyone looking to get away, to a quiet, peaceful and beautiful setting! I know I will be recommending it to my friends and family."
