  • quiet, cozy getaway

"The property is an immaculately clean, 3 bedroom lakeside cottage with beautiful decks overlooking the lake, an outdoor sauna and hot tub. We visited with a group of 2 adults and 4 kids in the winter and spent a few days skiing at Mt. Orford which is less than 10 minutes away. The property was perfect for our group. The outdoor sauna and hot tub were great for relaxing after a day of skiing. We made fires in the indoor and outdoor fireplace. There are multiple nice hikes in the adjacent Orford National Park. Magog is about 15 minutes away and has all provisions you may need; Eastman village is less than 10 minutes away and has a small grocery and a spectacular bakery (Les Beignes Dora). The manager was attentive, helpful, and available as needed."

  • Lovely spot

"Le Castor, was lovely and more fun and excitement than we could handle on our own. The cottage and grounds were wonderful, clean, warm, comfy and we could find everything we needed. Lots of easily accessible firewood to make for a really cosy atmosphere. ( Do need a supply of old newspaper to start the fire). The hot tub was excellent, everything worked, and it was situated in a great spot to see the stars after skiing and supper :-) The linens and towels were all there and the bathrooms and kitchen were well equipped. The biggest problem we had was getting in and out. It had poured rain all the way from Peterborough till we got to the cottage. The hill going to the cottage was solid ice all the way up and down the other side. Although Matthew sanded the road our studless( studs are illegal in Ontario) winter tires couldn't get us up the hill, so we had to ride in Matthew's sand truck( he has chains). On the way out it took the sander seven runs to lay enough down to get both cars out. So if not for the ice which also made the walk up to the cottage from the cars treacherous, I would have given this place five stars, but for the ice ( which was nature being a jerk), as it was one of the girls saw many stars as she landed on her butt in the icy driveway. We would highly recommend it as long as it doesn't rain in the winter. We'll be back; next time we'll borrow some tire chains :-)"

"Wonderful fireplace with lots of wood. Comfortable, clean and close to several excellent amenities, spas and restaurants. Could use some mirrors in the bedrooms. Shower is small. Lots of hot water. Drinking water supplied. Great get away!"
