  • Tough to get to but worth the trip

"The Exumas are a hidden gem for those who have never been. If you seek nightlife, this is not your spot but those who love the outdoors, boating and sandy beaches, this is a place for you. The Island has everything you need. Kayaks, paddle boards, snorkelling right off of the house. Gage was a great host and guide. He will help you set up anything you need. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and the like. Clearly, entertaining in the home is the norm. The only negative I would say is that the Wifi is spotty but I understand this is something they are working on. We went in July and it was HOT!"

  • Love this place!

"Spectacular view and very clean and comfortable home! Dock is perfect for afternoon breezes, snorkeling, or just star and moon gazing. We were there with 6 adults and there is plenty of space and privacy. Great water gear on premises with plenty of books and entertainment. If you have a chance read the book "Staniel Cay" - unbelievable non-fiction. Stephen will take care of your every need, and Vivian and Burky at Isles General have all the provisions you need. Highly recommended!"

  • Good value and location

"This cottage has been nicely redone inside and has most everything you need for a weeklong stay. There is a road between the house and the beach, but don't let that be a factor, since only about 1 car goes past per hour. The east-side beach and bay are right there and good for hours of relaxing in nice sand and 2-3 foot, crystal clear water, when the tide is in. The west-side beaches and blowhole are super scenic but are strewn with garbage, and the waves were too rough to go in very far while I was there (and I like rough waves). It is a short walk to town and Lorraine's cafe (excellent) and Mom's bread (do it!). No internet at the house, but we were shocked to discover our T-mobile phones had free coverage there. The cell coverage was not highly reliable, nor was the water pressure. The water quality was surprisingly high, drink as much as you like, no filtering needed. The air conditioners were powerful and kept the house at any temperature you liked. The house had an inflatable kayak, but it was in bad shape, and we were unable to rent a better one, nor a paddleboard. If you are looking for an affordable house and a week of relaxing, this is it!"

  • Great Island

"Stayed at Breadboys in Blackpoint for 2 weeks. The house was spotless and has everything you need. I felt like it was home the minute I walked in the door. There are spectacular views of the ocean from the front porch where I spent a few hours in the hamic. There are spectacular views from the back porch which faces the exuma bank waters. Its not enough that we had fabulous water views from both the front and back of our place but they also have a beach which is one of nicest beaches in the area. We would bbq on the back porch and watch the boats at anchor with amazing sunsets. We had such easy access to paddle boards, kyacks and inner tubes out our back door. The exuma bank waters are some of the most beautiful coloured water you will see in the world. Even when the ocean is rough the Exuma bank is usually nice and calm for boating. Actually when the tide goes out you can walk out for almost a half a mile….which if you have small kids it is ideal. We are looking into returning next year with our family and grandkids. We rented a 21’whaler and a 17’ whaler and spent many days visiting the grotto (snorkelling), and visiting numerous white sandy gorgeous beaches….some we swam with pigs (large swimming pigs), some we swam with iguanas, we visited other local Cays where we swam with sharks and bought some local fish. While the boat rentals are a must if we had one complaint it would be the cost of the boat rentals. We made a mistake and hauled a bunch of groceries and payed extra for the haul and learned that it would have been much easier to just order everything through the Owners. The Owners will put you in touch with Costrite in Nassau (on-line store) and you can order anything you want and have it shipped to the door. The Owners pick it up on arrival and put it in your place when you arrive. Live and learn…..Rented a golf cart and had lots of fun driving into town (5 minutes) and seeing the locals and enjoying some awesome Bahamian food. Homemade fresh coconut bread every day from town made for a few extra pounds…The best Bahamian meal we had was made by the Owners for us the night before we departed. Thank you and WE WILL BE BACK……"
