  • A lovely spot to enjoy Care Caulker.

"This was the perfect place to stay on Caye Caulker. CeeCee and Don were always helpful and went out of there way to be sure we had what we needed to have a wonderful stay. The dock was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sea."

  • The photo's of this property are wonderful, but they don't do the Black Pearl justice.

"We were looking forward to our stay at the black pearl and the photo's online indicated a very nice property, but we were blown away. The villa is cozy, but not small at all, each bedroom has it's own en-suite bath and the showers are HUGE! A fully appointed kitchen and plenty of room to relax. The villa is filled with native hardwoods and local art. I think this wood lends a subtle scent to the house that I just couldn't pin down. Slightly spicy and warm. The Matinee shaped pool is fantastic and very well kept. The lofty deck overlooking the pool and ocean were wonderful to relax on. The "Pearl" sleeps 6, but our party had 10, so we also rented the two bungalows, Bonita Sapphire and Bonita Hibiscus. While these bungalows are close, the palms in between make them remote and almost invisible. We couldn't have been more pleased. The property is on the quiet side of the island, and to us this was a good thing. Nothing is very far away on Caye Caulker and the chance to explore and find something on your own is a nice opportunity. Rent a bike, or call for a golf cart taxi. I'd say the quiet side is a better option than the busy side of the island with bars and traffic (Ha! traffic!) We took a side trip to San Pedro on Ambergris Caye and this brief excursion easily demonstrated what a great choice Caye Caulker is. San Pedro is quite busy and crowded, where Caye Caulker is relaxed and welcoming. Discovering Caye Caulker is a joy, where getting around in San Pedro is a chore. The villa alone would have made for an excellent stay, but the staff associated is the "icing on the cake". Heydi was absolutely fantastic. She was so responsive to my emails and calls. I can't thank her enough. Max was our taxi driver and an excellent resource. Only partly taxi driver, sometimes guide, sherpa and excellent sea food adviser. Max always knew just the right place to go, or charter on the island. We would return in a heartbeat, and when we do, if the Pearl is already booked, we'll be heartbroken... Or, we'll choose a different date. This place is special."

  • Perfect for us

"This cottage is an amazing spot to stay on Caye Caulker. It had everything we needed and was so comfortable. The hardwoods used in the construction and the furniture are gorgeous. The loft and soaring ceilings make a great space, loved the architecture. Michael and his sister Cece were wonderful hosts, handling anything we needed, and making recommendations. Their staff are all friendly and helpful as well. Most days we explored the island by bike and came home and relaxed in the pool - a nice way to live on a beautiful and welcoming island."

  • Family vacation Dec 2106

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had another wonderful time in Caye Caulker over the holiday. Friends and family joined us and Laura's Lookout was the perfect place for cooking/eating together, relaxing on the balcony and hanging out. The home is beachfront and within close walking distance to town. The pool provided a great place for the kids to swim. Divers and snorkelers enjoyed seeing an array of marine life including sea horses, sharks, spotted eagle rays and an abundance of colorful coral. A quick flight from Houston makes this a great playground for a short stay for our Texas family and we plan to return next year. We have been so impressed with the hospitality of Michael and his sister CiCi - they are the best!"
