  • Beyond what we expected!

"Our family of 5 wanted an authentic Jungle Experience while in Belize & The Exotic Jungle Lodge was just that & SO MUCH MORE! We booked 10 days at the lodge & I have to tell you after a long day of traveling & finally arriving at the Jungle Lodge we wondered if we had lost our minds & could really stay for the full 10 days. I can tell you after a great nights rest, despite no a/c, with fans blowing & night temperatures lower our cabana was a comfortable temperature & we slept well. We decided to give it a shot. The grounds & atmosphere were amazing & very well kept. Each cabana was neatly tucked in it's own private area with well groomed, natural foliage all around. The walking paths were great & made getting around so easy. Ron & his staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable & had an amazing experience. We ate breakfast & dinner at the Lodge. WOW! The food was amazing & freshly prepared. We never ate anything twice the full 10 days we were there! Ron & his staff did a great job providing us delicious meals that combined local foods with things we were also familiar with too! My kids are picky eaters & they were great at altering things to make sure everyone loved their food! They didn't just make a simple little meal. For breakfast they made fresh fruit juice along with a plate of local fruits. For dinner every meal started off with an appetizer & ended with a dessert. Ron was so great at telling us everywhere to go as we toured Belize. He helped us everyday & we saw a lot of Belize while we were there. If it wasn't for Ron & his help & suggestions we would have missed some great things! All within a short driving distance (2 hours or less) we saw several Mayan ruins, Big Rock Falls, Blue Hole, cave tubing, cave kayaking, Belize Zoo, "The Showers", Rio on Pools, & the San Ignacio weekly open market. We also wanted to see the beach so we took a day trip to Placencia which was about 3 hours away. Oh & the Lodge is right on the Macaw River so everyday we would walk down the path & the kids would swim in the river to cool off before dinner. We loved coming back to the Lodge after a long day touring & sitting down & talking with Ron all about it! They would clean our room everyday while we were gone & replace towels & bed linens about every 2 days. Ron's customer service & friendship started before we ever got there. We look forward to going back! If you want to experience the Belize Jungle, this is the place to stay!"

  • Paradise in Belize

"Our family of 21 stayed in this incredible villa -- and it left nothing to be wished for! First of all, Luis and Liz, Managers, communicated with me for the 18 months prior to our stay to be sure we would have everything we wanted. The villa is beautiful, incredibly furnished, spacious...the pool is huge, and the ocean is just a few steps from the pool. The kayaks and catamaran and water boards are great for those who aren't hanging out in the hammocks. Luis hired a cooking staff and we had all meals on site - which were delicious and varied. We went on snorkeling adventures, touring, zip lining, and horseback riding. They found the best places for us. And they rented us two SUVs so we could drive around on our own. But you really didn't have to leave the Villa to enjoy your stay. Hopkins Village is fairly remote - but with the short flight from Belize City to Dangriga, then a Villa shuttle to the villa, it wasn't difficult - especially because everything was arranged and overseen by Luis and Liz. It was a fabulous trip."

  • Created lifelong memories of an experience like NONE OTHER... and will DEFINATELY be back!!!!

"We stumbled across this ad for a luxury yacht when searching for a place to stay in Belize. After reading about the amazing amenities included, we couldn't help but inquire to learn more, just to cure our curiosity. Never having considered sailing or chartering, combined with the avg. nightly rate being much higher than our budget, we were just "playing around" with the inquiry. It was Mandy who clearly defined the ALL INCLUSIVE vacation, set the tone for the customization that this trip allowed and made suggestions that turned our inquisitive connection into a booking. Because of Mandy's expertise, detail and recommendations, we learned that luxury yacht chartering is not just for the rich and famous! This trip was a truly customized vacation, absolutely affordable considering the amenities, food and excursions and held MORE comfort and luxuries than any hotel I’ve stayed in while traveling the world. Our Captain, Jason, and First Mate/Chef, Kainie, got to know us immediately upon arrival. They asked just a few questions, and created comfort and laughter from minute one. What we didn't know at the time: they were learning all they could about us ensure they would be able to put together a successful and customized itinerary, menu, sailing path and excursions before our boat left the dock. They served us with perfection to the point that we didn't even realize we were being served! From kayaking with manatees and dolphins, docking in mangroves, swimming in beautiful private white beaches to fishing really large catch, our visits to so many private islands and our 1:1 guided snorkeling tours filled 4 days with 10 days’ worth of activities!!!! We got a taste of life on a beautiful Caye, socializing with locals, and spent many moments on numerous secluded islands, with no sign of humanity anywhere. Last minute dingy rides with the Captain allowed us to search and explore… we got to see things nobody has ever seen before! The knowledge, personal connections along the Cayes and experience brought with the combination of our Captain and First Mate/Chef allowed us to comfortably, safely and excitedly see many parts of Belize that are seen by few. The meals were fresh, EXQUISITE and beautifully prepared (as well as abundant in supply!!) Dining was an experience in itself like no other. Beverages and Belizean specialties accompanied every single meal, sail and social time! We left Belize this week, very sad as we feel we have left lifelong friends beh"

  • Amazing!

"I had the chance to spend some time at the Maine Stay recently and had a very difficult time leaving. The property has three units; the unit we stayed in is two beautiful Mennonite houses with a complete kitchen attached by a deck to one another. Each unit has its own bathroom and the bedroom unit also had a laundry room. The level of detail and care apparent in these places is remarkable as is the attention paid by Karen and her staff - predominantly Hector and Joyce. The bedroom unit has its own coffee maker and fridge so I could enjoy sitting on the deck in the morning with my coffee without waking up my family in the kitchen/bedroom unit. I have stayed in self-catering units before but I have never encountered such a well-appointed kitchen. I love to cook and everything we needed to make a fabulous meal of fresh lobster was there. Oh and fabulous wifi! The grounds themselves are beautiful and the units are positioned so that each unit has more than sufficient privacy I was lazy and read on the beach - beautiful white sand - but if you want more activity there are kayaks, canoes, bikes, board games, books, and more. I'm sure I've missed something. The property is a short drive to Placencia village for those wanting to shop or dine but far enough for to ensure a quiet, peaceful beach. There was always someone around during the day if we needed them and in the evening there is security at the gates - although I never felt like we needed it. Bottom line - I can't recommend this place highly enough. It is the perfect amalgamation of luxury and privacy while allowing you whatever level of self-sufficiency you might want. My husband wasn't able to join us but you can bet I will be bringing him back as soon as I can manage."
