  • Relaxing with a view.

"We were met at Kirkconnell airport by the car rental people as well as Bonnie and her husband Gene. We followed them to Carib Sands and they showed us to their unit. We were pleasantly surprised because of the size, amenities and view we had from the balcony. Bonnie explained many different things about the Island and had a shore diving guide for our use. She was very helpful in telling us about the many things that we could do on the Island. She had us meet her friend and fellow conservationist to help dig up a turtle nest to count the eggs of those that hatched and to count those that didn't hatch. It was very interesting. She also told us about the free Island tour we could take. It was very informative and we did tip the young men that took us around. They were very proud of the Island. The condo is on the west end so it was near the airport, dive shops (Brac Scuba Shack and Reef Divers), food markets and several restaurants. I would highly recommend this condo not only because of the price, location and amenities, but because of Bonnie Scott and helpfulness with anything we asked. A very pleasant stay. Thank you Bonnie."

  • Comfortable, convenient condo

"We cannot say enough about our experience; it was perfect for 2 couples...plenty of space and comfort. The condo is conveniently located for a short walk to LC Beach resort for a lunch at the beach bar or dinner at Southern Cross Club. Jan was helpful with 4 bicycles so we were able to make a 5 minute ride each morning to Reef Divers at LC Beach resort and they were top notch. We peddled to the point (a hardy ride), to the grocery store and the Hungry Iguana for playoffs as the TV at the condo didn't get ESPN but did get other basic channels. Jan was prompt to answer questions and respond to needs. We appreciated the mid week cleaning!! While we didn't indulge in the kayaks but more "hammock time" after diving, they were available. The view is hard to beat and cocktails on the dock were beautiful. Jan, thank you for the tips on how to freeze meats and bringing food into LC. Also, the tip to shop at Fosters before our flight to LC is the way to go! (Folks need to know that they charge by box and weight so bigger boxes are cheaper.) All appliances are new and the washer/dryer is a standard size vs a mini. Our advice is bring fewer clothes and more food, dive, fish and relax! Thanks again Jan!!"

  • Better than the photos

"First of all, kudos to Henry for a wealth of information about the property and Cayman Brac. Upon booking we received detailed information to help us prepare for our trip. Even though Brac is part of a British Colony, things do operate differently than the US. We traveled with three adult couples and this is a perfect spot for this many adults. The house was great with three nice bedrooms, a great sized living room, wonderful screened in porch, adjacent pool and pergola. Plenty of room to congregate but plenty of room for "private space." The kitchen is large and well equipped and has lots of spices for the home cook. We cooked brunch for the group and each night had a pitcher of tropical drinks and appetizers on the screened in porch and watched the sunset. The island is very quiet and slow paced and the house is extremely private. Although there is a condo unit next door, we saw very few people. The lagoon in front of the house is a great place to kayak (provided by Henry) and a good place to snorkel. It is a extremely scenic property with good views everywhere. An extra touch - the palm trees are wrapped with LED lights (solar) and a sundown they automatically light up - gorgeous. Sasha was a delight. She met us at the airport and drove us to the house (we rented a car - RECOMMENDED), cooked for us (don't leave without eating her conch fritters), advised us on restaurants and was available via house phone at anytime. Be advised that food is expensive but we never had a bad meal. Beer and pizza at the Buccaneer is a must and the BBQ at the Brac Reef Dive Resort on Friday night was a great way to close out our week. The Brac residents were always friendly and kind. The snorkeling at the end K. W. Tibbets Road on the north side is not to be missed. We also took an island tour. We drove up the North road through the communities, visited the Cayman Brac Museum, learned some local history, visited the lighthouse and the Parrot Preserve. We cut across and came back the South Road and drove to the end of the island. Very interesting. I would highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, restful, private house to rent."

  • Paradise

"The Space- First, Minnie's property is amazing. We had the privilege of staying at both the cottage and the apartment. Minnie was gracious enough to help with our Thursday-Thursday stay which required staying on one space for a few nights then moving to the other. If you are honeymooning I suggest the cottage otherwise personally I prefer the apartment where we stayed for the majority of our vacation. The apartment has an amazing view of the ocean and beach. Minnie's description is on point and the space IS comfortable - pillow-top mattresses, great pillows, etc. Plenty of spaces on the beach for chilling including hammocks and shelters. The property is beautiful and well maintained. It has the perfect blend of vegetation and open space. We spent a lot of time everyday in the water in front of the property. The beach at Minnie's is interesting in that it does not enter into the water this is normal on this side of the island. The only place you will find a "traditional" sandy beaches will be by the resorts. DO NOT let this deter you! Minnie has a small dock that takes you out past the iron-shore so you can either swim or snorkel. Snorkeling in front of her house is great. This place is truly wonderful and our family had an amazing time hiking the shoreline, swimming, kayaking, fishing, and just relaxing. Snorkeling- The island is literally a reef that came out of the ocean. Almost all of the island has what is called iron shore. Very few property owners have cleaned up the shore like Minnie has - she has the true diamond on this small island that she painstakingly carved out. We are snorkelers and used 2mm booties (I would actually get thicker booties to get through the iron shore around the island) and open heel fins to take full advantage of the snorkeling around the island - the only place you don't need this setup is by the public beach. If you have a young snorkeler I recommend the following shore dives/snorkeling locations - Handcuff Reef, Sylvia's Reef, Radar Reef, Scott's Dock, Buccaneer. They each have ladders into the water and are very easy to navigate. Be sure to bring your inflatable snorkel vest for visibility and safety. Other- There's not a lot of great eating locations on this island. There are a few gems- Barry's Jerk, Pat's Kitchen, and Captains Table (for lunch). I highly recommend buying fresh fish from a guy on the West Cross Road he has a large pink sign - "fresh fish for sale." $4CI/pound."
