  • Beautiful setting/great property.

"We benefitted from previous reviews and for the most part everything that was said was spot on. First a few negatives; parking is very tight, pool deck had screws that were raised (I was told they would be taken care of, as well as the grille which hadn't been cleaned in some time) and the gate to the beach wasn't always working, the entry to the ocean in front of the condo is rocky--but 100 yards down is perfect, the journey to get to the condo saw the higher end beach side and the mostly run down opposite side of the street--some chickens and dogs, but never bothered us. Now for the rest of it nothing but positive!! Gorgeous views from both levels. All sorts of boats parked in front and very few jet skis zipping by. The beach is pristine. We were there over Easter and never felt crowded. In fact, the mile long stretch rarely had more than 20 or 30 people in the water at the same time. Water is crystal clear--snorkeling is okay. Pool was also nearly unoccupied--we often had it to ourselves and at 5 feet deep was great from our 8 and 11 year old. Sunsets came directly to the outside patio attached to the condo. Gorgeous! The unit is very well maintained and has everything you need to cook in. Second floor master with the balcony is stunning. The four of us spent many a night sitting out the oversized couch and enjoying the breeze and the night view of the area. We arrived and had the tour given by Gordon--very helpful. We also had 4 cold beers and 4 cold sodas waiting in the fridge for us!! While it is only a short hop from the airport and a 10 minute walk gets you to some good restaurants and a little grocery store, we had a car and were happy to have it. Simpson Bay Beach is great--we also went to the far more busy Orient Beach and found it touristy, but nice. If you want to relax with great views, ocean and beach--you don't have to move an inch it is all there!! Atlantic Bakery (walkable), Beruit restaurant (walkable) and Palms (walkable) were among our favorite spots. I'm sure the issues I mentioned above will be dealt with--so I would recommend this property without reservation."

  • Beyond Our Expectations!!

"We booked this spectacular penthouse for our family vacation. We've been to St. Maarten several times and love vacationing there. This was by far our favorite accommodation. The location on the island is perfect. You can walk to so many fabulous restaurants and of course the water is just steps from your door. We walked to Karakter beach every day and paddle boarded right from the beach in front of the condo. With the pool onsite it was very convenient to cool off there too. With 3 adult couples the condo was the perfect size and layout. All of us had plenty of privacy or could hang out together on the spacious balcony or great room. John and Sharon quickly replied to all or our questions prior to our trip. During our trip the iron would not work and we contacted the on island manager and a new iron was brought to us the following day. There was everything we could have asked for in the condo. I would return to this amazing property in a heartbeat. In fact, my husband is trying to figure out how to move there full-time."

  • Great Family Vacation!

"We rented Seaside Retreat January 16-26! Yes, 10 days of Caribbean bliss! There were 8 family members in our group; all adults along with a 11 year old niece. The villa provided all the necessities of home. Each couple had their own bedroom along with its own bathroom which was a plus! The views from the patio were stunning day & night! The airport landings & takeoffs were tolerable & by the end of the time there it was something that you really didn't notice to much. The villa was close to attractions & some within walking distance. Jenny, the housekeeper, did a great job cleaning 3 times while we were there. She washed bedding, towels & cleaned bathrooms. There was plenty of hot water for the group at all times. All the kitchen appliances worked well. It might be a good idea to print off an online detailed map of the island before you come because there were not any to be found on the island. They did provide one but was very vague on street details. I would like to throw in a few things that may need attention. Not trying to be picky - just saying. *Internet was not very reliable at all. For the most part it was difficult to get connected. *Patio/pool were wonderful, the balcony could be a hazard to smaller children due to gap width in the railing. *Bathroom, kitchen & beach towels were getting thin. *Washing machine did not spin out the water. We informed Jenny & she seemed aware of the issue. *Would be nice to have lids for the frying pans in the kitchen. *Patio door screen looked like someone had fixed them in the past however they were in need of some attention as there were open gaps in them. Not good to keep out mosquitos and other bugs. Attractions we visited: *David's Pocket-beautiful! *Maho beach-cool watching airplanes land & takeoff plus good food at Driftwood beach bar. Plus shopping in Maho & eating at the 3 Amigos-good Tex-Mex. *Mullet Bay beach-stunning sunsets & relatively calm bay. *Pinel Island-relaxing & great snorkeling on the other side of the island. *Shopping in Phillipsburg-specifically visiting Juggie's Place "smallest bar in the world", his deal was 2 beers & a Cuban cigar for $2.99. The guys in the group this & enjoyed visiting with Juggie while the girls shopped in the nearby store. *Little Bay beach-nice & not many people. All in all Seaside Retreat did not disappoint. If we ever get the chance to return to Sint Maarten we would stay here again. Thanks Rick for sharing your villa! Stay well!"

  • Loved Staying Here!

"We rented this condo for 60 days and loved staying here. You can't beat the location in Simpson Bay. Everthing is close by and a car isn't needed to get around. Loved having the washer and dryer in the condo and everything we needed was supplied. Security was great and gave you a sense of safety. Balcony is a nice size and overlooks the pool. Samantha and Jean were great to deal with and ensured we we had what we needed. Would suggest a new couch as the one in the condo is getting old and could be replaced with something more comfortable. Great winter away!"
