  • Excellent Property

"We are two couples who spent a week at the end of June at this great property. The condo is better than the pictures! It was easy to find from the airport. The area across the street from the condo are inhabited by very friendly locals. When we arrived, Gordon, the property manager, was there to greet us and gave us all kinds of great advice and showed us around the unit. A VOIP phone and a cell phone are provided for your use. The unit is well-equipped with fans and air-conditioning. The view out the back is fantastic. The beach is small in front of the unit, and you can snorkel around if you enter the water with some caution due to the large rocks. Just down the beach a little bit is a nice swimming area. There are a number of restaurants as you walk towards the airport that are nice to walk up to. Karakter Beach Bar was a nice treat and we had brunch and dinner there. Everything is within 40 minutes driving or less. All the previous reviews are spot on when it comes to the information. Everything is provided and more at Bella Mare. Be sure to take the advice from Gordon and Jill (who we worked with to book the condo). They had fantastic information and made the trip so much easier. Jill helped with booking a car which made it a lot easier for us. WHEN we come back, we will definitely stay at Bella Mare, again."

  • Perfect place for our Honeymoon

"My husband and I were married at the Sonesta Ocean Point in Maho, we had 34 guests there. We wanted to find a quiet place on the island to honeymoon after the wedding. I came across this villa on VRBO and thought it looked lovely in the pictures and was in a prime location for what we were looking for. The pictures and reviews did not disappoint. Everything is exactly how it looks in the pictures, great condition, great location. You do need to walk down the beach a short distance to swim without rock but it was no longer of a walk then I would of done at the resort. They supply you with everything you could need, towels, bedding, beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, floats etc. Having the pool a few steps from our door was fantastic. And if you are a fan of seeing boats and yachts you will be in heaven! They also supply binoculars to view some of the boats! I would highly recommend this villa and we would definitely love to come back :)"

  • Beautiful setting/great property.

"We benefitted from previous reviews and for the most part everything that was said was spot on. First a few negatives; parking is very tight, pool deck had screws that were raised (I was told they would be taken care of, as well as the grille which hadn't been cleaned in some time) and the gate to the beach wasn't always working, the entry to the ocean in front of the condo is rocky--but 100 yards down is perfect, the journey to get to the condo saw the higher end beach side and the mostly run down opposite side of the street--some chickens and dogs, but never bothered us. Now for the rest of it nothing but positive!! Gorgeous views from both levels. All sorts of boats parked in front and very few jet skis zipping by. The beach is pristine. We were there over Easter and never felt crowded. In fact, the mile long stretch rarely had more than 20 or 30 people in the water at the same time. Water is crystal clear--snorkeling is okay. Pool was also nearly unoccupied--we often had it to ourselves and at 5 feet deep was great from our 8 and 11 year old. Sunsets came directly to the outside patio attached to the condo. Gorgeous! The unit is very well maintained and has everything you need to cook in. Second floor master with the balcony is stunning. The four of us spent many a night sitting out the oversized couch and enjoying the breeze and the night view of the area. We arrived and had the tour given by Gordon--very helpful. We also had 4 cold beers and 4 cold sodas waiting in the fridge for us!! While it is only a short hop from the airport and a 10 minute walk gets you to some good restaurants and a little grocery store, we had a car and were happy to have it. Simpson Bay Beach is great--we also went to the far more busy Orient Beach and found it touristy, but nice. If you want to relax with great views, ocean and beach--you don't have to move an inch it is all there!! Atlantic Bakery (walkable), Beruit restaurant (walkable) and Palms (walkable) were among our favorite spots. I'm sure the issues I mentioned above will be dealt with--so I would recommend this property without reservation."

"Great location. Right on beach. Condo was nice but needs to be updated. Beach was not crowded and the people at the resort are very hospitable. Location is so close to airport and many great restaurants and bars Simpson bay was isolated from most winds"
