  • A Memorable 50th Anniversary Celebration at Villa Agel

"We were fortunate to be able to celebrate our 50th Anniversary with our children and grandchildren at Villa Agel. There was enough space for everyone to have their private times as well as large spaces for all to congregate. The home has a very "Old Island feel". All of the sections are beautiful and immaculate, with a spectacular view of the East end and Tortola. The pool is spacious on a lovely patio, and is well maintained. Most important, the driving access to the Villa is very easy. We've stayed in many different Villa's on STJ over the last 27 years and this is on the top of our list. Diane and Fitz are wonderful hosts, being very attentive to our needs , making sure we had enough linens, towels, beach chairs, etc for our large group. Other than it's people, the beaches are the most part of STJ. Go to as many different ones as possible. They are all beautiful and everyone has a favorite .As far as snorkeling, following the Sea Turtles on Maho is fun, but the most exquisite spot is Waterlemon Cay. Also, make sure you take the walk out to Drunk Bay from Salt Bay. You'll be rewarded at the end. Our favorite restaurant on this trip was Sweet Plantains and the "take out" pizza from Indigo Grille was first rate. Many thanks to Diane and Fitz for the opportunity for a memorable vacation, The Prices"

  • Peaceful Hansen Bay Retreat

"We have rented Camercon Cove for many years now, and would never consider another place. While not ostentatious in design or furnishings, the house works well and is comfortable, and for peace and quiet, and water access, you cannot beat the location. Life happens on the deck breakfast thru dinner and on into sunset and starscape, or on the beach. Not as sandy as the north shore beaches, but a very short walk, and the 1/4 mile beach is shared by only 5 properties, one still only an empty lot. Right next to Sloop Jones on the map, and walkable close to other uncrowded East End beaches. A regular parade of sail and power boats and kayaks anchor below the house: you can pay about $75 an person to hire a boat in Coral Bay for a "secluded snorkel" trip and they will bring you here to Pelican Rocks, which you can easily swim to from our beach. You need a bit of sang froid to drive the hills of the National Park from Coral Bay-- centerline road from Cruz Bay is just a warm up--but Coral Bay has all you need, and now has several quite fine places to eat. If you snorkel over the turtle grass toward Long Point in late afternoon, you have a good chace of seeing a Spotted Eagle Ray cruising under you, the single most graceful moving creature in the sea ( and air for that matter)."

  • Great stay above Coral Bay!

"My wife and I had an excellent week at Giovanna's in Calabash Boom. We drank coffee from the deck every morning, the amazing views of St. John's east end and the BVI beyond were worth the trip alone. We've been to St. John a number of times, but this was the first time we have rented a house. We were really pleased with the choice. It was convenient to all our favorite spots on the Coral Bay side of the island and had everything you would need for a week in the tropics. The Calabash market it almost just below it on the main road, and it is convenient to many of the other Coral Bay establishments. Thanks Antonette!"
