  • Paradise!!!! Our new home away from home

"Gorgeous home, well maintained. The moment we walked in my family was blown away! Everything you need to have a fabulous vacation. Kitchen had all appliances and tools to cook a great meal. The bedrooms are comfortable with large windows that bring in a tropical breeze all the time and the views are surreal! We felt like we were living in a screen saver! Large and comfortable, great location, close to all the beaches and trails, about 25 minutes from Cruz Bay. We cried when we left, and are already planning our return. This is a can't loose vacation spot! Sue was a available at a moments notice, very attentive to any and all needs and questions. She is simply the best hostess!!"

  • What a great spot!

"Romance Cottage is such a delightful place to stay, Mary and Jay have thought of everything to make us comfortable. The cottage is very clean, arranged perfectly, and the view is amazing. There's also an assortment of Mary's gorgeous quilts on display that give the cottage a wonderfully homey touch. The drive up to their property is unbelievable and we had to laugh the first time because it's so steep up the initial hill that it's comical, as are a lot of the roads on the island, and we highly recommend that you rent a Jeep. Driving on these steep roads (on the left side) does take a bit of getting used to but it honestly doesn't take long. We even followed a small herd of goats up their street one time. The property is at the end of a dead end so it's very quiet except for the tropical sounds of the outdoors at night. It's such a wonderful place to wake up, that outrageous view is there every morning to greet you. The deck is the most popular place to hang out, it has an overhead fan to keep any flying pests at bay and they also supply one of those racket bug zappers that work great when necessary. We didn't need to use that much because the overhead fan works well, but it did come in handy a few times. The drive down their hilly road to the main drag is also only a minute or two, just mind any goats you may come across. The nearest restaurants and food stores are only a few minutes away around the corner once you're on the main road with the gorgeous coastal view. If you're like me and your phone service is Verizon you can pretty much forget about picking up a satellite signal anywhere on the island. AT&T seems to be the cell service that works on island, and Sprint works in Cruz Bay, however I didn't miss the use of my phone at all, and I used WiFi for browsing wherever it was available upon request. Our beach visits included Maho, Jumbie, and Francis Bays, with Maho being our favorite. We even snorkeled with sea turtles at Maho Bay, they're just out there feeding on the bottom grasses and they just do their thing as you watch. The guidebook "Feet, Fins and Four Wheel Drive" by Pam Gaffin (provided at the cottage) was a great help the entire time we were there, she covers the island thoroughly and her Jeep tour narratives were spot on."

  • Amazing property! Fantastic hosts!

"Little Lagoon was the perfect place for us and our longtime friends to spend a week! We rented both units. We prefer a kick-back type of vacation in a rustic/rural location right on the beach. Little Lagoon filled our needs and exceeded our expectations! What we hadn't fully realized is how wonderful it is to have the perfect hosts living right upstairs. Donna and Ernest never interfered with our lives, but would magically appear at polite times of the morning or late afternoon and inquire about our day's activities, offering suggestions as needed. The quiet house is beautifully appointed, with excellent beds and a full kitchen. We were surprised to find it was never uncomfortably warm, with only the ceiling fans occasionally running. Everything is top notch and we're looking forward to returning in the near future."

  • Another Amazing Week in St. John

"We just returned from our second consecutive stay at Sunrise Villa and it was even more amazing than the first time. The house, obviously has amazing views. What the pictures don't show is how quiet and secluded it is, yet convenient to the great snorkelling of Salt Pond and Lameshur Bay. The local management company is great to work with. We had an issue with our flight to St. Thomas. Instead of getting in at 6 PM as planned, we got in at midnight. The management team went above and beyond. Since we knew where the villa was located, they simply left the house unlocked and the keys waiting for us. On top of this, they contacted our Jeep rental company and negotiated with them to leave the Jeep waiting for us with the keys in it. This was amazing service on their part. In addition to all of this, the owner, Mike, is great to work with. If you have any issues during your stay, he is willing to address them. We hope to stay at Sunrise Villa again in the future!"
