  • Paradise on St. Thomas!

"We are a family of 4 who stayed at Beachtops for 5 nights. This place is wonderful! It is technically a 3 bedroom unit, but we only used 2 of the bedrooms and closed off the upstairs bedroom, and she prices depending on how many bedrooms will be needed. This unit had everything we needed, was very clean and nicely furnished, and the owner was wonderful to deal with. There are plenty of bath and beach towels. There is a washer and dryer, a dishwasher, and a grill on the porch (electric). There is also an area to eat and relax out on the porch, as well as plenty of room to hang towels and wet bathing suits at the end of the day. There is also snorkel gear, although 2 of the masks had broken straps (which I forgot to mention to June) but we made one of them work for one of the kids, floats, beach chairs and coolers/ice packs. The views from this unit overlooking Cowpet Bay are beautiful, and it is literally less than a 1 minute walk to the beach. You also have rights to the pool at the Elysian, which is the property right next door, and the pool is probably a 2 minute walk from this unit. The pool is very nice, big and has a hot tub and beach bar for the adults, and my kids loved the iguana that lives there! There are also 2 restaurants on the property. Cowpet Bay is about a 5 minute drive from Red Hook where there are more restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. Red Hook is also where you can catch the ferry over to St. John (but the parking lot fills up quickly in the morning so you may need to park across the street). This condo is a 10 min drive to Coki Beach or Lindquist Beach, about 30 min to Magens Bay, about 30 min to the Ziplines, and about 30 min to Charlotte Amalie. We did have a car which was very convenient, but you certainly don't need one if you want to just relax on the property or walk over to the Ritz. Overall, this place was great. June was lovely, very helpful in making recommendations for restaurants, stores, etc., and she even brought us a plant from a tree in her yard that blooms every night at 7:07. It wasn't much to look at before it blooms, sort of looks like a ripe banana, but watching it bloom and the flower that emerges is amazing! It was sweet of her to share that with us:) I would recommend this condo to anyone coming to St. Thomas, it was great for our family, but would work for 2 or 3 couples as well."

  • Fantastic home away from home on St Thomas

"Great condo in a great location on St Thomas right on the beach (150 steps to get there) and the owner, Sherri, is fantastic to boot. We stayed with our two young boys (2.5 yrs and 7 mos) and had a great time. The unit is set up so that it can be wide open and flowing from one room to the next, or the bedrooms can be closed off to make it a more traditional two bedroom unit. It worked great for us and we'd definitely stay here again if we return to St Thomas and others don't figure out that this is the place to stay."

  • Had what we were looking for at a great price!

"We wanted more modest and casual vacation lodging than we had at the Ritz Carlton three years before. We found it at more than 1/2 the price and we saved more money having a kitchen and front load washer and dryer. The kitchen had what we needed to prepare breakfast and a few simple meals. The beach view from the screened deck was beautiful and the beach was small, clean and not busy. We never swam at that beach nor the pool because we were busy touring throughout the island, BVI and St. John. We booked two boat trips at the sport shack on the beach and both were reasonably priced and professional. We never used the fitness center or hot tub at the Elysian but saw there was access available. We ate at two of the beach restaurants and as usual found the service to be very nice. Mr. Miller was friendly and helpful and even carried our trash away. He was very helpful with giving us logistical information during our stay. I would defiantly recommend renting a car if you stay here. Red Hook is 5 minutes away for grocery shopping, restaurants, and ferry."

  • Cowpet Bay West Condo

"We loved our stay in Carla's beautiful condo. The beds were super comfortable and the furnishings were great. Loved the architectural details of the building with the arched doors and the big solid bedroom doors. The balcony was super big with the best view. We had a wonderful dinner on the balcony one evening. Did not get to use the bbq grill but would have loved to grill out if we had the time. Marcella the housekeeper was very friendly and accomodating as well. The restaurants in the complex were awesome. The grocery store in Redhook had everything you could want probably twice the cost of the US though. There was another food store west on 32 heading to the airport that I heard was less expensive. The grounds were beautiful the only drawback is they don't have privileges to the pool at the Elysian although our sister was staying there so we piggybacked into the pool with her key. Great pool bar and the bartender David was very informative. The ferry to St John was convenient and well worth the price to visit the island. We took the car ferry and the only caveat is returning you may have to wait since the ferry gets busy at around 4 pm. Would highly recommend Carla's condo and she was very responsive by email if we had any questions, we would love to return if we have the opportunity."
