  • Outstanding Stay

"My family likes to take a trip each year and we have stayed at a lot of vacation rentals in several countries. This was one of my all-time favorites. The house is clean, comfortable, and just as shown in the pictures. We appreciated having the washer and dryer in the unit so we we could pack fewer outfits. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay but what made it outstanding was the owner, Stefano! He was very helpful (and entertaining). Stefano called places to help us book our activities, which made things so easy. Two of our very favorite activities in all our stay in Costa Rica came from his recommendations. If you plan on staying in this area, book this property right away!"

  • Wonderful place to relax

"My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Encantada Guest House. Nita did a wonderful job of providing directions and "things to do Information" prior to our arrival. The property manager, Juan, is super nice & helped us set up a private hike with a local naturalist. We also loved visiting the Butterfly Conservatory. My favorite spot was the hammock each afternoon!"

  • Secluded, peaceful, and magical stay!

"We stayed at Casa Cielo for 2 nights--it was not enough time! Perched on a hillside with a magnificent view toward the gulf, this cabin feels like it's in it's own world. It's a unique location and a really special place--do yourself a favor and book a stay here! On our way up, we stopped by the Sustainability Demonstration Center to meet Veronica, and would strongly encourage everyone to do the same--she's so wonderful and they're doing great work there! We also got to visit the farmers market across the street which was lovely. When we arrived at Casa Cielo, Giselle met us, showed us around, and provided delicious, farm-fresh, homemade refreshments! The cabin has everything you need, and is comfy and cozy. We had some dog and cat visitors, strays or neighbors but all very friendly, so that's a bonus if you love animals! The location is very convenient if you want to visit the cloud forest, and Veronica's recommendation/help with reservations at Selvatura Park was very valuable. Can't say enough good things about this special place, and can't wait to go back! Very highly recommended!"

  • A Splendid Costa Rican get away

"The artisan home was an ideal place to stay. The setting in a lush tropical garden surrounded by exotic wildlife and fruit trees made it seem more like something from the Garden of Eden than Costa Rica. The short 30-45 minute drive to Monteverde made it an ideal location. I only wish I had read the directions to the home better. Ken's recommended route to the home and Monteverde beats what you've been told on YouTube or other sources. If you go, you'll want to follow his directions rather than assume that you know the best way there. Each morning we enjoyed watching the purple hummingbirds, parrots and other exotic birds starting their mornings in Costa Rica as we were. Since we visited during rainy season, we enjoyed watching the tropical light show and showers every evening as well, while sipping mojitos made with fresh limes from trees on the property. Sitting on the porch, sipping fresh Costa Rican coffee in the fresh mountain mornings while surrounded by tropical flora on the high altitude coffee plantation was an experience we'll long remember and cherish. Being greeted each morning by the friendly tail wag of Estella and raucous greetings from Coco the Parrot added to the homey feel of the home. Alex and his sidekick 'Estella' provided an informative tour of the coffee plantation, including samples of the various tropical fruits that were in season. Having run a coffee shop before, we especially enjoyed learning many of the intricacies involved in growing coffee. He also assisted us with some of our other needs we encountered during our stay. The recommendations on restaurants never disappointed, including the one for the coffee shop. The customer service we received was good. The home was everything it was advertised to be, although the pictures do not do justice to the colorful and lush surroundings. It's definitely a rental that we would stay at again. We have no reservations about recommending it to others for an enjoyable experience in the Costa Rican countryside."
