  • Second time around.

"Second visit for our family to Condo # 4. Great location, short drive to town (supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.), very well equipped from kitchen to bedroom, A/C worked great in July Samara heat, gorgeous pool in what you would feel is the middle of the jungle."

  • Wonderful Stay in Tamarindo

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Matapalo 502 was clean and had a great view. Only issue was that power was out the day we left, but that had noting to do with the property or the management."

  • Fantastic Family Getaway

"We are are family of 5 who are just finishing up our stay at this wonderful vacation rental. The villa is very well appointed, with a well equipped kitchen, plenty of beach towels and games, puzzles and beach toys. We have rented properties for many years, and frankly this has been the most well appointed thus far and we have lacked nothing. The resort is quiet, and the views are beautiful. The quiet secluded beach has wonderful snorkelling and gentle waves that will be great for young kids as well. The office staff have been friendly and a resourceful, and there is snorkel gear that you can borrow at any time. The owners have paid for "concierge service" so this rental has all the conveniences of home with the benefit of hotel type service like a restaurant, outings coordination, and cleaning services if you want it. The location of the property is tucked away, but only a 10 min drive to great restaurants and modern grocery store that can even accommodate gluten and dairy allergies. Surfing beaches, and adventures like zip lining, hiking, waterfalls, atv, national parks etc are an easy 1-1.5 hours drive on well marked paved roads. The airport is about 40 min. away. Although it isn't necessary, I would highly suggest a car so that you can access all of these activities without having to hire a guide. Lastly, I wanted to mention how wonderfully responsive the owner has been. Mary was quick to respond to all my inquiries, payment via paypal (that can adjust to your local currency) is a breeze, and the welcome package that included directions, tips about the property itself, as well as a wonderfully detailed description of things to do in the area was well thought out and thorough. We would highly recommend this property for all ages and honestly have nothing but wonderful things to report."

  • Beautiful Home with Great Property Managers

"My family and I had a great time at Villa Aurelia. The home is beautiful, the kitchen is great, and we all loved the pool. We spent our mornings at the beach and the afternoons at the pool - can't ask for a better vacation. The property managers were also great in helping us arrange for a personal chef to come to the house (who was wonderful!), book excursions, book our rental car and just navigate around the city. But there were a couple of things I wish we had known before we arrived. The home sits on a hill, which allows for a great view of Playa Hermosa. But the drive up to the house isn't ideal. Only the part right by the house is paved, and the rest is a steep, uneven dirt road. A rental car is a must, and you won't really be able to walk anywhere from the house because of the hill. Especially if you have young children, like we did. The other item we wished we had known about was the water. We were told about two days before our trip that there were severe water restrictions in place, but they shouldn't impact our vacation as long as we limited the length of our showers. Not a big deal. When we arrived the water tank was about 1/3 full, which was enough to last us a few days. But because of the above mentioned road, the water truck didn't fill the tank on Monday like they were supposed to. We went a day and a half without running water at the house, which was frustrating. The property managers were very helpful in fixing the pipe down to the road and getting trucks to come out as quickly as the could to refill the tank. Hopefully the pipe they installed prevents this from happening to anyone else, but just wanted to share our experience. And although it was frustrating, we still had a wonderful vacation."
