  • Great house in the jungle with plenty of privacy and solitude.

"We had a great time at this house and enjoying the amenities of Rancho Santana. Very relaxed vibe, great weather, fantastic beaches and surfing. Roger was responsive to any needs/concerns, but we did not have many as everything fell into place so nicely. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning to the Pacific Surf House."

  • Big house; lots of breeze

"We had a great time at the house. Unfortunately we didn't use the kitchen much, but I'm sure if we had, everything would have worked. We did appreciate that there were trash bags and coffee filters provided, lots of dishes and glasses, silverware, and a cover maker (which we used every day). The AC was great in the rooms but didn't really spread to the rest of the place. Fortunately, the wind was so strong that we were able to just leave the windows open and have the breeze keep the place somewhat cool. The house is located in Surf Sanctuary, which is pretty cool because you get use of the ammenities: pool, hammocks, restaurant, covered game area, yoga twice a week. Also, the people working there are friendly and nice to talk to. Below were our only complaints: 1) When we had friends come over just for an hour or so we were told they could stay at the house but not use any of the Surf Sanctuary ammenities. While I get this, in concept, we were also only 2 people staying in a house that could have housed 5, so we felt like it should have been okay for our friends to use the ammenities while there for just a few hours. (Eventually while the guys went surfing, me and the other girl--a friend of ours--was able to use the pool and hammocks.) 2) The house is located pretty far from the beach (and by that it's really just a 7-10 minute walk), but when you're going out to surf multiple times a day it gets a bit long. Otherwise, you're really close to 2 delicious pizza places and only probably 20 minutes away from a local market. 3) You can't get wireless internet in the house itself; you have to go to the pool area at the Surf Sanctuary to be able to use it. 4) There is no tv in the house. (This is INCREDIBLY MINOR, but something to mention.) Generally speaking though, we would definitely consider staying here again :)"

  • Experience of a Lifetime

"We cannot say enough about our wonderful stay at Villa Suenos! It was easy to get to with a driver pre arranged to take us from the airport in Managua to Leon to get groceries at the western grocery store and then to the doors of the Villa. It is a beautiful accommodation with everything you need this far from home. The main living area and kitchen was spacious and supplied with all you need to make your stay stress free. The Rancho and pool area was gorgeous and the perfect place to spend your hot vacation days. From naps in the hammocks to pool fun this is the place for just that. The large bedrooms had queen beds and spacious bathrooms with hot showers. Each room had its separate entrance so if you're with a group you never disturb anyone as you come and go. Gorgeous views of the ocean right from your doorway. There were 4 couples on our recent trip to Nicaragua and it was the perfect accommodations. You are steps away from a large beach and ocean. The location of the Villa was easy access to Leon or Las Penitas by local bus and taxis home. There were plenty of local food stores and restaurants within walking distance. The people in the village were kind and friendly, we always felt safe here. You can spend your days doing nothing but soaking up the warm sun, having a massage right on the property or going on tours of the rum factory or the adrenalin boosting volcano boarding! Antonio and Kenai the caretakers are so kind and very accommodating to anything you need or want to do. They were the most gracious hosts and we loved having conversations with them even though we didn't speak spanish. They go above and beyond! We had Kenai's mom Flor cook us a delicious supper one evening. We highly recommend you choosing Villa Suenos for your Experience of a Lifetime vacation in the beautiful country of Nicaragua"

  • Overall good time!

"This property is really nice! Very clean and right on the beach. The pool is great as well. As someone who didn't know much about Nicaragua before arriving, I just wanted to comment that Hacienda Iguana is a resort village and there is really not much inside of it. You'll need to rent a car if you want to go explore anywhere else or to go to town to get groceries to cook. It's really a place for relaxing by the pool and surfing the massive waves. The owner is great at helping organize rides however you can definitely find cheaper ones if you just ask around (we were going to pay $150 USD for 5 people to San Juan Del Sur and ended up paying $60 USD). Overall had a great stay here though, really relaxing!"
