  • Wonderful apartment in beautiful Anghiari

"Firstly, I would like very much to return, both to Anghiari and to this comfortable apartment in the 'Renaissance' part of town. Anghiari is small enough that we were able to get to know parts of the community we met on almost a daily basis - the lovely butcher and his family, the newsagent and the people running 'our' caffe, the Caffe Garibaldi, where we had good coffee and a pastry every morning and sometimes an aperitif in the evening. With a big bedroom downstairs and another upstairs, each with its own bathroom, the high-ceilinged apartment was spacious enough for four of us to share our holiday comfortably. We cooked together in the well-stocked kitchen upstairs and relaxed in the tastefully furnished lounge room most evenings. We enjoyed day trips out to go for long walks in the Tuscan hills and to visit other charming towns such as Monterchi and Citta de Castella. But Anghiari, with its medieval walled section and wonderful vistas, remains the gem. As I said, I would love to return, but for three months instead of three weeks."

  • Taste of heaven

"What a special place - impressive views, pure nature and great customer service. I met a dear american friend there and I have to say: That was my best Tuscany experience. Many historical sights and delicious food just near by. And the cottage itself is historical, very authentic and shows the owners appreciation of beauty. Thank you for sharing this place with guests!"

  • Mark

"My family and I have just returned from a delightful week at Borghetto Calcinaia. We enjoyed the beautiful setting and views, the lovely swimming pool and the friendly hospitality of Dennis and Gilly. The area was delightful and we were able to visit local restaurants recommended by our hosts. The villa was well equipped and spacious."

  • Tuscan tranquility in style

"We booked the villa for two weeks in August. It was hard to leave. The house is located in a very scenic countryside area, on top of the hill, which even in August always has a comfortable breeze. In fact, we did not even consider once to turn on the brand new air conditioning. We loved the pool with its stunning views. The bbq was used frequently, as well as the outdoor tables. The house is exceptionally well renovated and decorated. Done in real taste and with comfort in mind. And don't bother to bring books - there's tons here. I finally got to read Under the Tuscan Sun. The closest village, Anghiari, is straight from a fairytale. What I also loved about it is that it's not overrun by tourists. The restaurants are wonderful, as are the local food shops. True Tuscan experience. During our stay the cleaning service stopped by, as well as the pool service. The property is very well maintained. Wifi connection is wonderful (unfortunately the 2 weeks required some working). Our favorite non-local outing and highly recommended was to Assisi. Otherwise all the villages in the area are stunning. And most of the time we didn't really feel like leaving the property, as it was so relaxing. Thank you Edward and Cheryl for giving us an opportunity to stay in your lovely villa. We will remember this vacation forever."
