  • Absolutely beautiful place and Jane is an outstanding host !

"I cannot recommend this place more ! Firstly we had a very disastrous start to our holiday, the hire car company didn't take debit cardswhen we went to pick up the car, we were devastated as we knew we needed this car to get to the villa. So there we were me and my girlfriend at 10 o'clock at night stranded after a days travel, I rang Jane the host not expected much more than "I'm sorry to hear but ...." That didn't happen, Jane was absolutely lovely on the phone and emailed us with directions from the airport to the centre of Florence, where we would catch a train and meet her at the Pontassieve station. Bearing in mind this was very late at night I cannot overstate how Jane basically saved our holiday. After all of drama and we got to the villa it was beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. There was a helpful guide in our room with suggestions of restaurants and places to visit nearby. The wine tasting at the Castle just above the villa was a highlight of the trip, a great location and was very welcoming of a complete wine novice such as myself. To sum up the hosts are lovely, the location is brilliant, a variety of things to do close-by and remember to correctly book when getting a hire car! Tom and Lola"

  • Good location...close to tramline...15 to Firenze city centee

"The owner was quite helpful..kept city maps handy in the room. Nice cozy place with most kitchen utensils included. Only downside is that the residential street can be slightly noisy even after midnight but then that is somewhat to be expected as it is close to city centre and conveniently close to the tram line going to Santa Maria Novella. Overall a reasonably pleasant experience!"

  • Breathtaking getaway with spectacular views

"Borgo di Cassagrande tucked away in the Tuscany countryside, is a fantastic place to stay. The views from every vantage point on the lush, well maintained grounds are spectacular. My wife and I along with my daughter and two close friends stayed in one of the 2 bedroom, 2 bath, 2nd floor apartments with a large living/dining/ kitchen area. It was beautiful with old world charm, high ceilings, exposed beams and terrazzo tiled floors. Yet it had very modern conveniences; WiFi, kitchen with all the amenities and 2 modern fully tiled bathrooms with showers. The place was immaculately clean and with the windows open the breeze and the views were amazing. The weather the week we stayed was beautiful and not until the last night did we need the air conditioning which worked great. Simone, the owner along with his wife and children live in one of the buildings on the property. He speaks English very well among other languages and is the perfect host, friendly, hospitable and very accommodating. His young kids, by the way, are very cute and well behaved and will interact if you so desire (as we chose to do). The built in pool, lounging patio and umbrellas along with a wonderful bottle of Simone's own Cassagrande wine provided the perfect relaxing end to a busy day. There is much to see and do nearby. The town of Rignano Sull'Arno, with it's quaint charm, hillside homes, trattorias, gelato shop and even a modern supermarket is a 15 minute drive. Hop the local train there and in a half hour you are in iconic, historic, Florence. There are villas, more wineries, fashion malls and the Cassagrand Hotel with authentic Italian cooking classes, short drives away. Be sure to allow time for a stroll around the grounds and through the vineyards to truly appreciate the aromas and breathtaking views that is the Tuscany valley. It is truly a slice of Heaven. You will love staying at Borgo di Cassagrande, we surely did. The OConnors from New Jersey, USA"
