  • Great apartment in Siena

"The Apartment was beautiful and the Hostess was great. Great location within walking distance to everything. The manager Cori was very helpful and the owners, Mrs. Maria Teresa and Mrs. Francesca were outstanding. They spent a great deal of time with us explaining the history of this magnificent old building and apartment. The apartment is full of antiques, some ancient, and the terrace was great for sitting and viewing parts of Sienna over the rooftops. Highly recommended and would stay there again."

  • Wonderful base to visit Tuscany

"We really enjoyed our stay in this delightful property. It was decorated with care, comfortable and everything worked perfectly (including the Wi-Fi). The kitchen was well equipped for holiday cooking and the local supermarket (2 mins drive away) had plenty of choice. Each apartment has its own garden - ours had lovely views over the Tuscan countryside and up to San Gimignano and the option to sit in the sun or shade. The medieval village of San Gimignano, is delightful with plenty of restaurants and bars and just a short walk away along a quiet dirt road with wonderful views. The major sites are an easy drive away for a day trip (and there are public transport links to to Florence and Sienna from neighbouring towns if you don't like driving in Italian city centres). Roberto and Nadine were charming - with a very warm welcome and send off. Definitely a place to return to - and to recommend to our friends and family"

  • A stunning location, extremely welcoming hosts and a beautiful apartment in a medieval street, wow!

"We had a wonderful time, cooking fresh food with a view to die for, walking two minutes through the private woods to the pool, which we had to ourselves, and enjoying the amazing scenery and beautiful hilltop towns in the area. The Grossi family welcomed us with open arms, including a cookery lesson and family meal at the big house for a true Italian experience."

  • Explore Siena from this fabulous hillside oasis

"Santa Chiara was exactly as described, well equipped, the perfect location from which to explore Siena - just 15 minutes walk to the Piazza del Campo, and a little further to the bus station. The spectacular pool and accommodation were wonderful to retreat to at the end of a full day, or a lovely tranquil place to relax or take a walk through the olive groves, while enjoying views of the ancient city and its walls. It is the best of both worlds, having close pedestrian access to Siena and the peace and quiet of the countryside. Anna and her daughter, Claudia, were very welcoming and helpful. Be sure to take Claudia's free tour of the Duomo and city, and learn more about the art, history and customs of Sienna. We can't imagine a better place to stay and hope to return one day."
