  • Everything we had hoped for and more

"After sightseeing in the bustling cities of Venezia, Milano, Ferrara, and Firenze, we were eager to arrive in Vivo d'Orcia, our oasis, where we could take in the lucious sights, smells, tastes, and sounds of the Tuscan countryside. "Eremo", the hermitage, was everything we had hoped for and more! As promised when we called to confirm our arrival, Jonathan was here to welcome us and show us Casa di Petro; Vincent, the French dog, and Tobias, the black cat, joined in the welcome party, all maing us feel instantly at home and certain that ti was where we needed to be in our journey. We cooked a simple but elegant meal of pasta con funghi, insalata, and vino (of course!) and finished with a small bit of chocolate and fresh "melone" before retiring; having the best night's sleep of our trip, waking up to the early Tuscan sunlight and the singing of birds, we were off to Siena for the day. We have treasured every day of adventures and the joy of returning to our haven. Our garden, so obviously tended with care, has been a particular pleasure for our meals, "al fresco", and to come out and just be... Grazie, grazie mille for every detail! This place will always be a happy memory for us in our Italian experience! Post Note: The beds were heavenly, by the way! The Casa had a very nicely prepared book on recommended sights and restaurants in the area."

  • Wonderful escape in the Tuscan hills

"From the moment we saw the photographs and then details of our stay from the hosts, we hoped Chiusarella would be special and we weren't let down. We were greeted at the property and shown around the house and grounds and really, nothing had been to left to chance. From the large pristine kitchen to the well presented bedrooms and bathrooms, the house is a 5 star treat. The walk up to the pool, although steep, took us to the most amazing views of all. Trust us, looking at the view from the poolside with a cool drink never gets old. A welcome basket and wine was a lovely touch to see us through our first weekend, the supermarkets are relatively close and well stocked, and the tiny village of San Gusmé is just a short walk through the woods. (don't wear open shoes though...it's very rocky!) The onsite phone was a great touch meaning help was never far away. The wood burning barbecues take a bit of getting used to but cook up a storm once mastered. The wifi meant we could always get online and board games meant we never got bored. We enjoyed the wine and bar too.... We'll be back - amazing property and an amazing estate!"

  • A Dream Come True

"We had the great pleasure of staying at El Bolli with family and friends for a week and loved every minute of it. Pierangelo has done a remarkable job of restoring this 14th century villa while also adding all the necessary amenities. He and his assistant/interpreter Sara were a joy to work with, from booking right through our stay. They made us at home, assuring us that the villa was our home for the week. And the little hill town of Radicondoli was a wonderful home base, close to everything we wanted to see while in Tuscany. Pierangelo is an excellent cook as well, and created many memorable meals for our group. My dream now is to return and bring our whole family. Thank you, Pierangelo! Cyndie B."

  • Review for stay from 18 September 2016 to 30 September 2016

"The Villa is a beautiful property, ideally located on the Piazza Della Fortezza. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed. Exterior spaces are inviting and provide great venues for conversation, food, and wine. The owners and overseers are very friendly, generous, and helpful. All in all, it was one of our best vacations sites ever."
