  • Amazing!

"We spent an unforgettable holiday at Villa il Vecchio Fienile. The place was better than possible, clean and welcoming. The owners were kind and friendly. The Villa is well furnished and everything was even better than we expected…The swimming pool is amazing and the villa is perfectly located near San Gimignano. We strongly recommend Villa il Vecchio Fienile. We can’t wait to come back!"

"Casa Valerio in Montisi is a very special place that gives you the opportunity to experience a stay in Tuscany about which novels have been written and the travel industry salivates. Casa Valerio was ‘rebuilt’ from a 15th Century shell into a lovely home with all the modern amenities, including air conditioning and a plunge pool, by the lovely owner, Ann, with three bathrooms and bedrooms plus overflow into the attic to sleep up to eight people. Being located in the centre of Montisi village, with Casa Valerio front door opening onto the main street, you have a little general store next door, a wine cellar only steps away, the ‘local village bar’ a couple of hundred metres away and four restaurants within a few minutes walk. However, open your living room or bedroom windows and you look across a kilometre of Tuscany countryside to the next village. As Montisi has a number of English speaking, ‘part time’ residents, including Ann, you are not seriously troubled by inability to speak Italian and the friendly, relaxed and welcoming attitude to Casa Valerio guests provides a wonderful ‘temporary home’ for your Tuscan visit and if you are fortunate enough to be in Montisi mid August, you will almost become a local participating in the Montisi Festival. Also, whether Ann is in Montisi or back in England, she is readily available to advise her guest’s on any aspect of ‘Tuscany Touring’ and, if requested make arrangement for you. Providing you can handle the steps to the four (plus attic) levels, it is difficult to imagine any guest not being delighted with their stay at Casa Valerio. Thank you Ann for making such a significant contribution to our magical three week Tuscan Holiday. SUZI & JOHN - HELEN & BOB"

  • Lovely landscape, fun vacation, great hosts

"We did a three generations trip to Tuscany so my husband and I, who live in the US, could have a fun vacation with our London son, daughter-in-law and their three children. The castle turned out to be perfect for us. The location in Tuscany is both remote, so you really feel like you are living as lords and ladies of another era, and yet just a short drive to a first-class restaurant down the hill, and fascinating towns around. Our favorite was Rampolano Terme. The castle provides well for a romantic stay, and at the same time was perfect for our family's needs, offering us a tennis court complete with balls and rackets, badminton also with rackets etc, bocci, bikes, ping pong and fuse ball. The pool looked lovely as well, but since we were there in late October the weather was too cool to swim. The owner, Diana, invited us for tea, which was a highlight of our stay. Chiara, who manages the property was consistently warm and helpful, as was also the young man from Sri Lanka who manages the grounds. The layout of the three-bedroom Guardia (guard house) unit was perfect for us, with a bedroom for each generation, plus a homey living room and a very large eat-in kitchen. In short, the castle was totally terrific."

  • Our Magical, Memorable Winter Trip 2016-17

"Villa Baiocco was fantastic. We spent 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years with extended family and this villa was perfect for our big group! We enjoyed their breakfasts they prepared, we took advantages of massages, rode bikes and relaxed by the fire. The dinners they prepared for us were delicious too! Jacopo and his team communicated everything clearly and made us feel like cherished guests for two amazing weeks. This experience was an opportunity to immerse ourselves in a beautiful and quaint town. Yet we were very close to Assisi, Orvieto, Firenze, Montepulciano, and more! Though we loved hanging out in our own Città della Pieve, our most cherished times were truly the long, relaxed dinners when we could get caught up with family and share stories (over delicious Italian food and wine!!) We can't recommend this villa highly enough!"
