Summers in Valencia, and especially June and July, are the most popular time to visit, thanks to plenty of beaches to combat the heat. Keep in mind that, like much of Spain, the city empties out in August, and many places close for the month. Spring and fall are particularly vibrant in Valencia, with warm temps and an influx in cultural events to keep your whole crew occupied. Winters in Valencia are mild, meaning many of the city's outdoor dining terraces stay open during the day, even in January and February.
From the bottom of a riverbed to the top of the mountains
Set on the Mediterranean, Valencia is bordered by Catalonia to the north and Murcia to the south. Running the length of the city is the Jardins de Turia, an urban park set in the former Turia riverbed. Here, you'll share the trails with other naturelovers, hikers, and cyclists, passing fields of flowers, lush trees, and fountains. If you prefer to travel by train, Valencia North Station, Valencia (YJV-Valencia-Joaquin Sorolla Train Station) and Valencia Joaquín Sorolla Station are the main stations in the area. It's easy to get around Valencia by catching a ride on the metro at Xativa Station, Colon Station or Pl. Espanya Station.
