  • Just what we needed!

"My wife and I just spent 6 days at Paula's 2 bedroom ground floor condo near San Jose Del Cabo. The grounds for El Zalate were very well maintained and the staff on property were very friendly. The ground floor setting was perfect for being able to just wander out and sit by the pool for half an hour in the sun and then wander back to sit on the patio in the shade and read a book when the heat got too much. The condo is very well appointed and has pretty much anything you could want. The town is a quick cab ride away and there is an OXXO convenience store (like a 7-11) right at the top of the drive. Paula was very available by email and answered any questions in very short order. We forgot a couple of items of clothing in a closet and the property manager happened to be coming to Vancouver the next week and brought them along with her. Above and Beyond! Very relaxing and would highly recommend a stay."

  • Better than advertised!

"My family of 5 stayed in Samapnquita Villa 6 for a week in June 2016. We were excited based on the pictures in the listing, but the real thing was even better than we imagined. The villa was spacious, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The furnishings were all in good condition and the villa was wonderfully clean. The kitchen was well appointed. That along with the full-size Weber grill made preparing meals a snap. There were plenty of bath towels and beach towels available for our use, and some great beach toys as well. We got a lot of use from the boogie boards. I cannot explain to you how lovely the outdoor area is. The landscaping is gorgeous and gardeners maintained it daily. The pool is gorgeous and a great refresher after the beach. The views from the villa are simply gorgeous with the beautiful pool and tropical gardens in the foreground, the sea in the background. The beach is very clean and uncrowded. The surf is quite rough with a strong undertow, so don't plan on swimming. But it's lots of fun to stand in the shallows and play in the waves. There are many lovely coves within a short driving distance for swimming. There is a larger grocery store with everything you might need about a three minute walk away. In addition, a big community park is right across the road from the villas with a playground, basketball and futsal. My 17 year old son went over every evening and found a pick up soccer game to join. It was helpful having a rental car, and we will rent one next time. We rented from Alamo at the airport and it was convenient. Frank, the property manager, met us when we arrived at the villa. He made sure everything was just right for us, and offered great suggestions for restaurants and activities - all winners, particularly El Toro Guero and The Tropicana. He checked in with us a couple of times during the week to make sure all was well. We had prebooked a snorkeling excursion that took us near the arch in Cabo San Lucas. I think we would have been better off visiting one of Frank's recs with our own snorkel gear - just something to keep in mind if you want to snorkel. We booked the villa with pretty short notice, and Garfield, the owner made sure everything was in order for us in a timely manner. His communication was great and the info provided was thorough and helpful. In short, we loved staying in Villa 6 and will definitely be making a return trip , and we highly recommend it for anyone traveling to Los Cabos."

  • Beautiful property above and beyond happy with our stay and would definitely come back again!

"El Zalate is my favorite property to stay at when visiting San Jose. This unit was by far my favorite. It was nicely appointed with everything you would need on your trip (including all beach chairs, toys and towels), right down to the citrus press for margaritas!! The patio was so beautiful and quiet with a perfect view of the ocean. The beds in both bedrooms were extremely comfortable and the shower in the master bathroom! I wish I could take that water pressure home with me!! It is close to everything and within walking distance to the Mega grocery store that is huge and clean. Everyone is so friendly here and the restaurants are all delicious! Bill and Nonie make you feel right at home with their welcome book of favorite restaurants and things to do and see. I would definitely stay in this unit again and recommend it to anyone going to San Jose. There may be newer units to stay in in San Jose but El Zalate takes pride in their property and is constantly maintaining it and keeping it lush and beautiful. IF you want to stay somewhere with a lot of action, this is not the place for you. If you want a place that you can thoroughly relax and know you are surrounded by friendly neighbors and you are safe, I would suggest El Zalate!!"

  • Condo on the Beach, San Jose del Cabo

"We stayed for a week in September at this beautiful 2 br/2 ba condo, right on the beach. The rooms were comfortable, the ac provided a nice oasis from the intense heat and humidity this time of year, and the large wrap-around deck was amazing. The kitchen was fully equipped, but we only bothered with light breakfasts and lunches at "home", and ate out for dinner. The surf is rough, not safe to swim, but the condo complex has two large pools, one adjacent to the G-unit, the other just a few steps beyond. There was an Oxxo store just out at the road for basics such as water, milk, eggs, etc, and a larger grocery (locally known as the "Mega") about a mile toward San Jose del Cabo. There were several bank ATMs in a nearby strip mall, along with a Starbucks and some really good restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the food and service at La Marea (The Tide, or Tides?). There's a bus stop right at the road to get to Cabo San Lucas, about 30 min and about 35 pesos per person, paid as you enter the bus, or about 600-650 pesos by taxi. We walked into the San Jose del Cabo old town square a few times, about 3 mi/5 km one way, and really enjoyed the French Bakery restaurant there. We were there also for Mexican Independence Day, and enjoyed the festivities and fireworks in the town square. Henry was very responsive to texts and email, and was very easy to work with. We chose to pay an additional fee to activate the in-condo laundry, and he was able to coordinate that on very short notice (external laundry service is available at I think 70 pesos/load). We were very happy with the condo facilities and location, and would not hesitate to stay there on a return visit."
