  • Profesionally managed yet personal home in the perfect location.

"Two adults and our daughter throughly enjoyed a week at Casa Pocito. Pamela the manager we dealt with while in Merida was professional and a pleasure to work with as was Jim the owner stateside, both offered tips and info that helped us enjoy a smooth week in a city we had never visited previously. The property itself was clearly designed for more than just a vacation rental and has design touches and art that surpasses many of the rental only type accommodation we have seen in the past. This place reads like a great place a friend has let you use and as such is instantly comfortable and relaxing. The location is excellent and on a quiet street considering Merida's traffic which is a huge plus, yet an easy walk to any of the Centro you wish to explore. The pool is quite cold this time of year but that didn't deter our daughter from using it several times as much as it did us. Great bar next door for adults with live music and a great lively social scene each night, they stop the music by 10pm so it never disturbs you, on the contrary siting in the courtyard listening to it makes for a nice after dinner cocktail time. Highly recommended both for the quality of accommodation ease of booking and professional management."

  • Perfect House!

"We are finishing almost 10 nights in Casa Rosita. This is our second stay at the house and once again Casa Rosita was perfect! Perfect location, perfectly maintained, and perfectly furnished! We would highly recommend this house to anyone. Jo, the owner, is very responsive and obviously takes great pride in making sure her house is and remains the perfect place for her visitors to stay in Centro. We look forward to future visits!"

  • Very pleasant home in the midst of Merida

"Casa Claire is as beautiful in person as it is in the online photos. Coming from the Pacific Northwest in the US where a building from 1900 is considered old, it was a privilege to stay in a place that had so much history. The accommodations were plenty spacious for the two of us and it was nice to have a little elbow room. The main centro is within easy walking distance as are a couple of other squares. There is nightly music, dancing, and street activity plus good and affordable food everywhere. We found ourselves happily engaged every evening. It was difficult to go out in the heat of mid-day so we often took a siesta and/or read our books from the noon to 5:00 PM period. Perfect for vacation! The two bedrooms in Casa Claire have air conditioning which we kept going around the clock in one room. This allowed us an immediate respite from the heat and humidity whenever desired. Mornings we spent visiting museums or exploring the neighborhood. On a couple of occasions we headed out to the beach to "beat the heat". Neil was a good host . . . he was responsive to emails and made himself available as needed while also giving us our privacy. We needed one repair while we were there and he did it within just a few hours. Being there for more than three weeks, we rented a car. This wasn't necessary within Merida but it did allow us to get to the beach, explore the surrounding towns, swim in some cenotes, and get to the ruins easily. The area seemed quite safe. It wasn't exactly quiet but the noise was not troublesome when we retreated inside. We would be happy to stay in Casa Claire again and recommend it to anyone who would like to feel that they are a part of the old city."

  • Incredible home with an incredible view

"The 6 of us (my wife and I, my parents and my two pre-teen daughters) spent our March Break at this beach house and can't wait to go back! It never felt like we were in each other's space due to the fact that it was so big. It was out first time going on an off-resort vacation and I think we've been converted. It was nice not having to fight over deck chairs or line up for average buffets. We all loved the satellite TV and high speed wifi which took care of any boredom we have experienced. Yes we had to shop and prepare meals, but if you have a vehicle there are many local spots to eat. I'd definitely rent a car for the week as you can't really get anywhere by foot. If we ran out of food items (or alcohol) the town of Chelem was 5 minutes away where we could hit Willy's grocery store and other shops in the area. We ate twice at Taco Maya which is also in Chelem. It's owned by a Canadian couple and felt like you were relaxing in their back yard rather than a restaurant. Progreso and Merida aren't too far and are easy drives (even for people like me who have never driven in Mexico before). They're both beautiful places to explore and our family never felt more safe. **Tip** Be sure to have Mexican pesos as it's difficult to find places that accept American money. You won't find bank machines anywhere near the beach house so take care of your business beforehand. Again, it was a beautiful vacation and we can't wait to return over the Christmas holidays. The owners are amazing and checked in on us throughout our stay to make sure all was was🙂. I've already referred many friends to this property and many have contacted me after seeing pictures I have posed. I promise you won't be sorry if you rent this place. See you soon Chuburna!"
