  • Good place to stay

"We enjoyed the space of the condo. It was clean overall and well equipped. I loved the garage for my XL SUV. Plenty of room for ingris and egress. It could be improved by the following: Key instructions said they were behind the Grill. The key is located on the door-facing at the 2nd set of doors, not behind the grill. The condo needs to be sprayed for insects. (Inside and Outside) Spiders and webs are everywhere on the stairs. The stairs need sweeping. (Remember, everything on the stairs shows up in the condo eventually.) Found one live spider in the Master tub and a live bug in the dishwasher. So we had to wash all of the dishes that we would be using before we used them, which we did. There are 2 lights out in the Master Bath. 3 lights out in the kitchen/living room. A handyman needs to do the following: - Secure the dishwasher at the top. It moves when the door is opened. - The Master shower door needs adjusting. It has to be slammed to shut water tight. - The Master shower has signs of black mold in 3 or 4 places. - The light under the microwave is out. Makes it hard to see the range top. The ice dispenser on the refrigerator was frozen. I unstopped it and it appears to be working. The top of the ice tray needs to be installed by the handyman. The kitchen water faucet is loose and needs tightening. The plug-in wires on the clock in bedroom #2 were pulled out of the socket and hence was unplugged when we got there. I did not fix it. The blinds inside the front door need to be adjusted. (They will not close fully). There are 2 or 3 blind adjustment rods missing in the Master Bedrm and Living Area. Both chairs in the living area are absolutely worn out and need replacing. The large skillet is worn out and needs replacing. The spatula for the grill is wonderful for a large grill, but it was hard to use on the small grill. Need a smaller spatula for this grill. We tried to leave the condo in a better and cleaner condition than when we found it, since that is our traveling policy. We ran the dishwasher as requested and washed all the towels. Incidently, there were only 4 useable washcloths and 1 dish towel. We went and bought us 4 new dish towels and 18 new wash clothes. I realize that you didn't expect this amount of things wrong with the condo, but I was a chief engineer and I maintain 3 homes, so I have an eye for detail that most people don't and don't care about. Fix these and get a 5 star rating"

  • Beautiful place to enjoy Little Red River

"My husband and I recently stayed here and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay, Everything you could possibly need was supplied. The cabin was very comfortable and in an excellent location. Even though the fish were not biting we had a wonderful time. I got early every morning to sit on the back porch, drink my coffee, and watch the changing river. We will definitely be back many more times. If you are older like us don't be discouraged by all the steps down to the river.....there is a drive down the hill!!"

  • Awesome trip

"Great home and location. Heather was very responsive and very nice. We had everything we needed. Loved being in such a small quiet community. Very peaceful. Would definitely stay here again. The house is just beautiful."

  • Nice place for two who get along

"We really enjoyed our stay. Be aware, however, that the house is not suitable for wheelchairs or, for that matter, for people who need space. It is small, though perhaps a bit larger than a hotel room with a kitchenette: at least the bedroom is separate from the combined kitchen/living room. What was really nice is that my husband could easily walk to the conference he was attending at the University, and I could easily spend time visiting the fabulous used bookstore on Dickson Street or using the nearby 35 mile bicycle path (we brought ours with us, though the nearby bicycle shop would probably rent one). This rental unit is attached to a much larger rental home which we were able to take a quick look at--it was beautiful but more expensive (nice, perhaps for a group or very large family). The house was clean and secure, and the neighborhood fairly quiet despite this being a neighborhood with lots of students. We enjoyed a few breakfasts out on the back patio. The window air conditioner got quite a workout in the ninety-plus temperature days: we appreciated the ceiling fans. All the appliances worked. It's not luxurious, but then neither was the price. We both liked the Hog House. I visited the Clinton House (the student working there was much too young to answer most of my questions) and the Prairie Grove Battlefield (Civil War) State Park ."
