  • Affordable Get Away

"We enjoyed our stay here. The owners were very friendly and attentive. The dome house is unique, peaceful in a beautiful rural landscape. Everything you need is there and the place is tidy. Some things could use an eventual upgrade, but all the essentials were there and for the price, its a good place to retreat to after a day at Yosemite."

  • Far from the crowd but amongst the stars

"A wonderful place to escape to, if you love nature and enjoy nights under the stars viewed from the comfort of the perfect house, this location is for you. There is plenty of information available from the owners and supplied in the house about nearby attractions - Yosemite Park being one of the main attractions. The house is very comfortable, welcoming and wonderful cooking facilities are all you could need - particularly if you enjoy doing BBQs overlooking a gorgeous sunset in the valley. Bedrooms are lovely too, choose either one and you will have wonderful views to wake up to in the morning. I highly recommend staying and I would love to come back and visit any season of the year."

  • Perfect!

"What a great place! Everything was clean, working properly and so comfortable. Mike was great with his email and attachments giving any all instructions needed to work the telescopes/observatory. We had two crystal clear nights and were able to see many sights including Jupiter! All in all, great home, great host and we would highly recommend it to anyone. THANKS!"

  • Rustic Cabin near Mariposa

"We spent 3 days here and enjoyed the convenience to restaurants in Mariposa (and the AMAZING food at the Yosemite Bug Hostel in Midpines). Our 2 year old son loved playing Foosball and the fun vintage toys in the toy chest upstairs. Having our own space to spread out and our own kitchen to use was definitely preferable to staying in a hotel. The downstairs king bed was indulgently comfortable, and the collection of true adventure books greatly added to my reading list. The drive to Yosemite (45 minutes to gate, but 1 hr 15 minutes to most places in the valley) was quite doable, but with a small child, I wish we had stayed closer. Also disappointing was that this was advertised as a 2 bedroom, but was actually 1 bedroom with a loft room (no door). Not a big deal for most people, but we had to be really quiet when putting our toddler to bed since there was no door to block the noise. Finally there was a lot of brush in the yard due to dead pine trees, so there wasn't a lot of room for playing outside (owner did advise us about this prior to check-in). We ended up playing at Mariposa and Midpines playgrounds which were close by. Thanks for letting us stay!"
