  • Perfect House for the perfect Winter family vacation

"My family and I stayed here in January and we had the best experience on our family winter weekend vacation. I'm so grateful that we found the perfect house for our family that was a mix of grandparents, adult children, and little toddler grandchildren . Lisa the owner and the property manager Lysa were both so friendly and accomodating, and any communication we shared was very smooth. Our favorite part of this house was the main floor where the spacious kitchen and living room were open to each other and allowed all the family members to have ample space and to be doing different activities at times, but still being the same space and coming together at certain times for family time and fun. The backyard very large and we were able to do some fun sledding just a few steps out the back door. I can't say enough about this house and how wonderful every inch this warm, family-friendly, perfect winter retreat of a house this rental was. Thank you so much!"

  • Couldn't be closer to the slopes!

"We had a great time at this house. It is walking distance to Bear Mountain with beautiful views of the slopes and it sleeps a ton of people. The hot tub was great. We used it a lot. The owner was on premises in a small apartment attached to the house. It was nice to have him there for a few questions but also took away a bit of our ease because we were always hoping we weren't being too loud, etc. Kitchen has no basics like spices, foil, oil, sugar, etc. so come prepared to have all that. (There was salt and pepper.) Bring games if you want them. Layout of the cabin is kinda funky but it does the job for a big group. Overall, we had a great time. We were a group of kids and grown ups and we really enjoyed our time there. And, again, it couldn't be closer to the slopes!! That (and the hot tub) are the magic of this place! Enjoy!"

  • Cozy, Quiet Weekend

"My family and I stayed at Apple Jacks cabin on Memorial Day Weekend and had a lovely time. The property was very cozy and had all the amenities. There were 6 of us (4 adults and 2 children) and there was sleeping space for everyone. The cabin is close to everything (it's only walking distance to the zoo), but far enough from the hustle and bustle in town to appreciate some peace and quiet. We also took a soothing dip in the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking!"

  • Extremely convenient to Bear Mountain Ski Resort

"We stayed during Spring Break in the Lower Unit and had a fabulous time. There is a large back yard for children to play and the Local Zoo is an easy walk although it is moving further down the hill soon. The lower unit is well equipped with everything you need to feel like it is home away from home and the WiFi is adequate for streaming TV so bring you ROKU or Apple TV. There is only television in the livingroom so we set up streaming in the bedrooms for the kids. You can hear the upper duplex downstairs, basically walking, showers and flushing but it became white noise to us during the week we stayed in the lower unit. Straight down Moonridge or Goldmine is Bear Belly Cafe, coffee shops and a Walgreens. The trash sight is just past Walgreens straight down Moonridge. To stock your fridge, there are two grocery stores down Moonridge and make a right on Big Bear Blvd. For skiing, you can walk to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit is a 5 minutes drive. The property managers were very responsive during our stay and always got back to us same day. We were never able to start a fire but there is a fireplace for those more experienced with getting a fire started. There is no patio furniture in back but perhaps that was just because we were there during ski season. It snowed twice during our stay in late March so if you stay in summer, perhaps there will be patio furniture in back for BBQ's. Parking is tight so 2 cars for lower and 2 cars for the upper unit is as good as it gets. There is no street parking."
