  • The condo definitely is old and there are a lot of stains in the carpet, otherwise it was pretty

"The condo definitely is old and there are a lot of stains in the carpet, otherwise it was pretty clean. The noise hasn't been mentioned by other reviewers and I recommend finding lodging elsewhere if you're sensitive to noise at all. There's a few bars behind the condo and the walls are thin. Location is excellent and host was moderately easy to get a hold of. I think it's a "get what you pay for" kind of place. I wouldn't stay here again but it's because of the noise issue."

  • Pictures don't do this condo justice!

"Everything about this condo was great! It was extremely clean which is a huge plus in my book! Noel was amazing and was easily reached via text if I had any concerns or questions. The view was amazing and because the condo is not directly next to the street it was perfectly quiet inside with the door closed. This will definitely be my first choice if I come back to San Diego."

  • A Nifty Apartment in a sweet spot

"My wife and I were very comfortable in this apartment. The information in the listing and the comments of previous guests proved to be quite accurate. Tovik was very businesslike, responsive and forthright in all our dealings with him, something that is not in our experience always the case with hosts. We enjoyed taking in the afternoon rays on the balcony or else sitting on a bench in the small park in front of the building, watching skateboarders, dog walkers and joggers pass by. It's a 5-minute walk to the harbor, which was always a fun place to stroll or go for a drink or meal. A block or two the other direction takes you into the Gaslamp District, with its many restaurants and nightspots. Ralph's, a reliable supermarket, is a walk of a few blocks, as is a Starbucks. However, it is good to have a car for excursions further afield; especially inasmuch as driving in this neighborhood, and in San Diego generally, is a piece of cake compared to navigating the congestion of most cities. A secure parking spot is provided in the building. If you are sensitive to external sounds you should consider that the San Diego Trolley (the Green Line) runs regularly on tracks which pass within 50 yards or so of the apartment; as does the commuter rail service ("The Coaster") and an occasional freight train. We felt that this medley of recurring clickety-clacks and whistles added a nice urban touch, but others might feel differently. We occasionally took the trolley (very clean and comfortable), so it was convenient to have a stop so near. There are some homeless men who sleep overnight in a couple of spots on 4th near the Starbucks, but we were never accosted by any of them, and they had usually moved on by mid morning. Their presence came to seem normal even if sad. They seem to have an accepted niche among the neighborhood's workers, hotel guests and condo owners. It is a phenomenon that exists throughout the city, and is much more prevalent in the East Village."

  • Great apt, great host

"We loved staying in Greg's place. The apt is very comfortable and true to photos. The pool and hot tub were a lovely bonus and it's an easy walk to Little Italy or the Gaslamp. Greg is a wonderful and gracious host. He was quick to respond to any questions we had and made sure we had a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!"
