  • Delightful Woodland Retreat!!

"First timers, not knowing what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. Cabin had plenty of space for all 7 of us, included 77 year old active grandma! Enjoyed having coffee and a bagel on the rear deck every morning, actually had the privilege of seeing a dear pass through the property one morning. Kitchen was fully stocked with plates, pots, pans, coffee machines, everything you use at home for daily living. Having 3 kids and spending lots of time at the river produces lots of dirty clothes but it was a breeze because I was able to do my laundry at the cabin. We had dinner together every night which was wonderful because when we vacation at hotels you tend to eat out a lot which can be very expensive. Also, hotel continental breakfasts are during certain hours, at the cabin, after a long night playing games and just enjoying family time, it did not matter what time we woke up, we were able to have our coffee and bagel at our time! Trust me, our family has done it all, camping in tents, hotels, motels, rv's....this has it all beat!!! You want a real restful vacation away from the crazy city life, looking for peace or a place to unwind.....look no further...you have just stumbled on to a little peace of heaven!"

  • Major Wow of a Vacation!

"Major WOW of a vacation! We stayed for 6 nights, and would like to have stayed more if we had the time. My wife and two teen age boys shared the 500 acres with my brother and sister in law, plus our two German Short Haired Pointers and their four “ankle bitters” (Chihuahuas) as cow boy Bill called them . The property reminded me of how the Wild West probably was 100 years ago, but with plenty of rustic luxury. My boys Loved running wild in the woods with Buddy and Hazel, the two GSPs helping them scare up jack rabbits, ground squirrels and tree squirrels, while I attempted to hone my fly-fishing skills, and my wife and Bros. and Sis- in law lazed around the lawn with the ankle Biter-Chihuahuas to protect them. It was a doggy paradise as well as a perfectly relaxing, week -long get-a-way from the City/work rat race that is the Bay Area. During the day we took afternoon excursions now known as “escape the heat adventures” to various high country lakes. At night we grilled up very late dinners followed by campfires until the early morning hours, while gazing up at the limitless stars and famous Milky Way, never seen in town. Thanks Bill for an awesome vacation!"

  • Extraordinary!

"WOW! PERFECT! AWESOME! These were just a few of the initial comments from our family of three generations who take frequent vacations together. The "Lake Almanor Getaway” surpassed all of our expectations from the initial contact with the owners, Christina and Wyatt, to our very reluctant departure. We kayaked, fished, swam, read on the dock, played cards, relaxed in the hot tub, enjoyed awesome meals on the porch/deck. The views are spectacular, the gourmet kitchen was fully stocked, the barbecue fantastic and every meal was complete with smores around the fire pit. To support all of our adventures, the property is complete with kayak’s, a canoe, games, deck chairs for the dock, a nearby launch for our boat and our grandson’s (age 7 & 4) enjoyed the rare opportunity of late night movies in their “awesome” bunk room! We shopped at the local Paradise Market which has a fabulous butcher, deli and all our food/beverage needs. Topping off our hosts amazing support was a heads up that there was a Wine and Art Festival at Lasson National Park during our visit. This was a wonderful side trip to complete our magical time together. The entire family plans to return next year and without a doubt we will once again enjoy a wonderful “Getaway” thanks to the attention to detail of Christina and Wyatt."
