  • Private and Quiet

"Our family of 4 (including two teen boys) stayed at Mark's quaint carriage house 3 nights. Great experience! Even though you're in a residential neighborhood, we never heard any neighbors and the layout is extremely private. Easy, ample parking. Deer were right outside the kitchen window every morning. This little home lives big due to there being two stories, and it's well-stocked/equipped. Mark and his son Chris (who filled in when Mark was away) were both a pleasure to deal with. Couldn't get the DVD player to work, and it was fixed immediately after a phone call. Chris was spot-on with his recommendations for good, casual, family restaurants----both Front Range Barbecue (Southern BBQ with a great vibe-about 12 minutes away in Old Colorado City) and Panino's nearby for Italian. We already knew about Jake and Telly's (Greek) in Old Colorado City and had a great "date night" one night. (Their sauteed calamari is a must try!) We enjoyed the close proximity to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, hiking in Stratton Open Space, and taking a tour of historic Glen Eyrie Castle. Only downside was the master bedroom has a curtain instead of a solid door to close for privacy, but it really wasn't an issue for us. I actually liked the curtain! The side garden must be stunning in summer!"

  • Family Time

"We had a great time with family. The house was very fitting to our needs and the yard was wonderful. There were 16 of us that stayed there---11 adults (ages 21-80) and 5 kids (ages 1 month to 14 yrs). It worked well with the large table for all to eat at in the greenhouse and play cards. The outside patio area was great with the beautiful weather. Definitely a memorable trip for all as we celebrated my dad's 80th birthday. Thank you so much!"

  • Comfortable stay with scope of few improvements

"It was a nice experience overall, though it didn't begin well. Joanne couldn't be reached through phone or email on the evening we arrived and this caused a lot of trouble for us and our two toddlers. We had to check in a hotel for the night. We understand these things happen but we expected a better arrangement of things when it was known that we will be arriving. Joanne did refund the one night charges. Other than this, it is a nice clean big house. Beds are quite comfortable. However, the rooms and area at the other end from kitchen doesn't heat up very well. Clean bathrooms, though addition of shower gel & shampoo, maybe just travel size, would be really helpful. Having Roku is great, though the TV is very very old and mounted very high, so we couldn't really enjoy the benefits of Roku. It was nice to see few toys for little ones. There are lots of board games upstairs, so big kids and adults can really enjoy. But some had missing pieces. Kitchen is awesome! Big with a nice big dining table. The plates, bowls and cups need an upgrade though. They were pretty heavy. Nice and sufficient pans and pots for cooking. Location of the house is very convenient. Joanne was easily reachable, apart from the first night, and helped us with any questions we had about the area."
