  • Wonderful home

"My family of 6 rented the Dusty Rose for our week long stay in Cripple Creek, Co. The home was perfect for our needs. Centrally located to area sight seeing opportunities, near to downtown, but not so close to be bothersome and excellent amenities! The owners were very accommodating as well. We had two vehicles, one of which was a truck camper and 2 trailers. We asked in advance and the owners were fine with us parking all of them on the property. The home was supplied with linens and towels as well as dishes and pots n pans. Having access to a washer and dryer was a huge plus! The hot tub was well kept, clean and the perfect temperature! We were in the hot tub within 30 minutes of our arrival. There is a guest book in the home that was fun to read and to add to. By reviewing the guest book, we obtained some good ideas for places to dine. At one point, we locked ourselves out of the house and the neighbors - who are also the care takers - were kind enough to let us in. Our stay at the Dusty Rose was our first vacation rental, but will not be our last! The price and convenience of a vacation rental is so much better than staying at a hotel. Having access to a kitchen ensures that a wonderful vacation will not be a budget buster! The entire process, from booking to check out - including a myriad of questions from me (I'm a bit of a control freak) was easy and smooth. Lauren answered all of my questions and never once seemed bothered. I cannot recommend this home - or owners - enough!"

  • A place to unplug and unwind!

"The location of this property is exceptional if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Quiet, serene and the views are amazing and just outside your door. The cabin was clean and quaint, the perfect definition of a mountain cabin. Friendly neighbors in this quiet community. Pikes National Forest offered great ATV trails with easy access to the cabin. Fly fishing on the South Platte river just 15 minutes north in Deckers. Woodland Park is close by and has everything you need. Highly recommend the Pikes Peak Cog Railway and Royal Gorge all within an hour or so. Overall this was one of our favorite vacation spots and large in part to this sweet little home in the hills."

  • Wonderful Christmas Vacation

"My family and I stayed here for Christmas and it was wonderful! We couldn't have asked for a more idyllic white Christmas. Everything about this cabin was cozy and comfortable, and it reminded me of visiting my grandparent's cabin when I was a kid. The views from the porch were beautiful, and the Christmas lights on the cabin added to the festive feel. There was plenty of space for everyone to do their own thing if they wanted, and plenty of activities to occupy our time. By the end of our trip, no one wanted to leave! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful mountain getaway. My only recommendation would be to make sure you take a 4-wheel drive or AWD vehicle when visiting the cabin in the winter; getting up the driveway in the snow will be impossible if you don't have 4-wheel or AWD. My husband and I are already making plans to come back to this cabin when the weather is a bit warmer."

  • great family vacation rental

"We rented this house for our family vacation before school started. We had 2 adults and three kids, ages 10, 8, & 6. We all loved it! There were deer in the yard every day and the house was tucked into a nice neighborhood with woods all around. When we arrived, we noticed it was quite warm in the house, about 85 degrees. We found out there was no air conditioning and the house had been closed up with sun beating in the windows, so that made it heat up. Luckily, there were plenty of fans and we were able to stay plenty cool during the week. The house is completely stocked with plenty of towels, kitchen items, food items such as jelly, spaghetti sauce, ice cream toppings, etc. The movie and game selection is extensive, in the basement. The location was plenty close to Pikes Peak, NorthPole amusement park, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cave of the Winds, Royal Gorge (1.5 hours drive), Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (feeding the giraffes is a once in a lifetime experience!), & shopping in Manitou Springs. There was plenty to keep us busy and out and about all week long! Such a fun and memorable trip. Our kids will never forget it!"
