  • Great adventure for kids and dogs

"We had two families there; 4 adults and 6 kids (ages 7 - 15), plus 3 dogs (2 stayed in the garage/stable). The best feature for us was the large acreage, with interesting terrain (trees, hills & valleys), a creek with beaver pond, various trails, and the stone fort. The kids made up an imaginative game involving pirates and gold mines, and had a great time! The adults enjoyed the scenery (first-rate), the picnic tables, grilling, horseshoes, and the tired kids. Very relaxing and a lot of fun. The cabin is well furnished and comfortable. The owners were very helpful and available, though we didn't need anything. We recommend it highly, especially for people with kids who want some outdoor adventure without roughing it!"

  • A true Rockies experience, complete with the jaw-dropping view!

"This beautiful cabin is nestled between the mountains, on a lake, at the end of a quiet, dead-end road - it doesn't get much better! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the peaceful, cozy cabin. The view of the mountains reflecting in the lake on a clear day is nothing short of incredible! The owners are quick to reply and give very thorough directions and helpful tips for the cabin and surrounding areas. My wife and I loved that we were able to bring our dog at no extra charge. We were very pleased with this place for our first Colorado visit. You won't regret choosing to stay here!"

  • Quiet & Peaceful

"Our family of 8 so much enjoyed WPR. So quiet and peaceful, spacious, clean and well maintained. Had an easy time booking and the property manager Susan was very nice and helpful. We saw more wildlife here than anywhere we traveled. A doe with her spotted fawn stopped by one morning and several mornings we were visited by four or five mule deer bucks with their velvet antlers. They rested on the east side of the house and one right under the window of the east bedroom. We also saw chipmonks and heard the wolves nearby every evening. It was nearby to all the places we visited, Garden of the Gods, Cog Railway, Cliff Dwellings, Seven Falls and Focus on the Family. We drove to Victor and the Phantom Canyon road all the way to Canon City and the Royal Gorge. The last day we went west to St. Elmo ghost town. Woodland Park Retreat was centrally located and only 8 miles north of Woodland Park, a beautiful little town that has anything you need. The days and nights were cool and such a relief from the heat and humidity of Oklahoma. My family all agreed this was the best vacation ever and would like to return again next year. Thank you so much for making our vacation a wonderful time!"
