  • Highly recommend!

"We stayed 4 nights in June, as we were in the area for a family wedding. We were impressed with the extra condiments and spices, plenty of towels/washcloths, even toiletries! The unexpected extras were a plus! This home was very clean, comfortable, and inviting. Unfortunately, the blinds in the two story living were left open (with the good intentions of greeting us with a beautiful view upon arrival) but the unexpected warm temperatures outside heated up the inside. With no A/C, we were unable to cool the house down until well into the night. The managers have since acknowledged that they will keep that in mind in the future so it doesn't happen to future guests in the warm months. I was encouraged by the managers' concern for addressing anything that could further improve their rentals. I would definitely rent this home again as well as work with these managers again. Oh, and we really enjoyed being so close to some hiking trails! The trail head was maybe a block from our driveway!"

  • Great venue for our Family Reunion

"Our family just finished our 6 days - 5 nights at the Walton Mountain Lodge; we had the lodge and the cottage to accommodate 26 of us! It was perfect and the Walton's were great and gracious hosts - they left us alone and we only saw them when we had questions. The lodge kitchen was well supplied and had everything we needed including large cookware and plenty of dishes to handle our large group. We were very happy with the situation; all our needs were met. We gathered and BBQed on the deck, WIFI was sufficient for work-at-home folks, everything was clean, enough beds for everyone, and we never ran out of hot water for showers!! 'Not sure about the large TV - we never turned it on! The Manitou Springs area offers so many opportunities; our group did horseback riding and archery, an ATV trip at Lone Duck Campground; The Incline, Pikes Peak, Cave of the Winds, Garden of the Gods, Cave Dwellings, Zip Lining, golfing, hiking, fishing at Spinney Reservoir, antiquing and more. It was perfect for us!"

  • Quiet & Peaceful

"Our family of 8 so much enjoyed WPR. So quiet and peaceful, spacious, clean and well maintained. Had an easy time booking and the property manager Susan was very nice and helpful. We saw more wildlife here than anywhere we traveled. A doe with her spotted fawn stopped by one morning and several mornings we were visited by four or five mule deer bucks with their velvet antlers. They rested on the east side of the house and one right under the window of the east bedroom. We also saw chipmonks and heard the wolves nearby every evening. It was nearby to all the places we visited, Garden of the Gods, Cog Railway, Cliff Dwellings, Seven Falls and Focus on the Family. We drove to Victor and the Phantom Canyon road all the way to Canon City and the Royal Gorge. The last day we went west to St. Elmo ghost town. Woodland Park Retreat was centrally located and only 8 miles north of Woodland Park, a beautiful little town that has anything you need. The days and nights were cool and such a relief from the heat and humidity of Oklahoma. My family all agreed this was the best vacation ever and would like to return again next year. Thank you so much for making our vacation a wonderful time!"

  • Amazing place

"This place is amazing! Probably the nicest VRBO we have stayed in. There is plenty of room in the house, the views are priceless, and the location was secluded but not too far out of town. Stunning sunsets on the deck and from inside the house. We hiked around the lake and around the property. No doubt, better than we expected. Initially, I was concerned about the location and distance from the city, but it was not bad at all. When we come back to C Springs, we will most certainly stay at this house again."
