  • Attractive, comfortable house on quiet street

"My husband and I stayed at this lovely house in late August, 2015. B/c it was just the two of us, we only used the first floor and master bedroom. The photos are very representative of how the house is (including the 2nd floor, but we didn’t use and is not part of this review). We enjoyed our stay immensely for a variety of reasons in no particular order: • Very attractive mountain décor (exposed beams, rich leather furniture, stone fireplace, etc.) • Very comfortable living room to relax and watch TV after a long day of activity. • Modern updates in all the right places (kitchen appliances, flat-screens, electronics, bathrooms, reliable WiFi, etc.) • Large, well-laid out kitchen that *seemed* well stocked. (Full disclosure: we didn’t cook while there, but the kitchen seemed to have plenty.) • Large table for larger group/family (comfortably sit 8, could squeeze in more chairs if needed) • Tons of storage in the kitchen, master bathroom (including “real” hairdryer – ladies will know what I mean by this) and master closet. • Excellent water pressure in the master shower. • Good privacy (b/c of how the house is situated with mature trees/plantings, the house felt very private as we roamed around the first floor and master bedroom, especially at night with the lights on). • Charming, private back deck/patio with portable firepit and tiki torches. • Well-maintained landscaping w/ timed sprinkler system. • Situated on a quiet street (corner of Teocalli and Second Street). • Great view of Mt. Crested Butte as you enter/leave the house each time. • Easy walk to Elk Avenue (at least in the summer, never stayed in town during the winter). While we found the house on VRBO, we actually worked with a property management company – Crested Butte Property Management (www.cbprop.com) – to reserve the property. Tracy is very reliable and easy to work with. While we didn’t meet the on-site property manager, Meghan, she was easily available and responsive via phone and text if we needed her. I highly recommend this property if you are looking for an authentic in-town experience while in Crested Butte. And I also highly recommend Crested Butte Property Management. I should note that we have been coming to Crested Butte for quite a few years and have tried everything – from being up at the mountain (ski season) to being in town (summer) and out in the boondocks on acreage (summer). Of all the places we have stayed, this is one of our favorites. I should note"

  • We look forward to staying here again!

"This too was our first visit to Crested Butte. The location is perfect! We were able to walk to the main street (Elk) to shop and grab a bite to eat, in a matter of minutes....it's even a shorter walk to the bus stop to catch the shuttle to the base of the mountain. The house is set up so no one was on top of anyone, it comfortably accommodated 5 adults and dog. The hot tub was the perfect way to end each evening."

  • Family and Friends Get Together

"Out of six home rentals in down town Crested Butte the Red Poppy was the best we have ever had. We love being right in the middle of town everyone, can just go and do their thing. We love to watch baseball, hop on the bus, ride our bikes, hike, shop right from the house w/o having to drive anywhere. The home is fit perfectly for a family of four plus a few friends. I love the high end touches: steam shower, large bath tub, Wolf stove etc. Thank You so much for the great service we have received at Alpine Getaways in Crested Butte."

  • Incredible Crested Butte Enhanced By These Accomodations

"My annual Ski/Ride trip strayed from Summit County this year to incredible Crested Butte. As the coordinator of this annual, indulgent affair, it is always my responsibility to find our accommodations and make it happen. I think I got lucky with the opportunity to work with Kimberly when booking. She spent several minutes on the phone with me walking me through the layout of the house, the town, the mountain. I felt like i knew her and was very appreciative of her time. And then I think I got lucky with the place. The house was perfect for a larger group of ski-clicking, snowboard riding, snow-surfing. knuckle-dragging, back bowl drawn adults who tend not to spend too much time sleeping or in our accommodations. This trip we didn't stray far from that, but the house made it nice to come back to and for a very comfortable stay. The location couldn't be beat--basically on the same block as the bus stop to Mt. CB and then just blocks from the world famous Elk Street. The house was perfect size and exceeding all expectations with how nice it was (maybe too nice for this crew). And Crested Butte..... I could take another 1500 words on the trip, the people, the mountain, the food.... and how I got lucky in Kimberly, in 620 Maroon, in CB....but then I realized about day two...It's CB! and it's what you should expect in what really is a gem in the Rockies. So instead of taking 1500 words, I'll simply sum it up...I can't wait to get back!"
