  • Wonderful winter experience

"The location of the cabin was perfect - only 9 miles off the main road up the scenic mountain and conveniently close to more cabins where other members of our holiday group stayed. My family of 4 shared this cabin with our friends who also are a family of 4 and there was plenty of room for everyone. The cabin is made of beautiful wood and had excellent amenities (tv, fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer, plenty of hot water, towels, showers, and nice bathrooms). Even with the cold temperatures outside, it was always lovely and toasty inside the cabin where there were plenty of heaters and a cozy fireplace. To top our wonderful experience off, Jimmy the caretaker was extremely friendly and very helpful. I would stay here again on a heartbeat and I would highly recommend this vacation cabin to anyone thinking of needing to get away from it all."

  • Awesome time at Treehouse in Pagosa Springs

"What an awesome place to stay, especially with large group of people. My family and our friends stayed the first week of June in the Treehouse. This was our friends' first time to Treehouse & Colorado. They walked in the door & liked the layout, decor and basically everything about the house. The house was clean, well maintained, owners very easy to deal with. With a total of 10 people, adults (old & young) and a 6 yr old, we had plenty of room. Common area (kitchen, dining area) was big enough that we were able to move around with ease. The bedrooms, were very accommodating and had room for everyone to spread out. With 7 females and 3 males, the 3 bathrooms were plenty. The view is awesome when looking out any window or sitting on the deck. We were lucky enough to see deer walk right past the property fence every morning (if up early enough) and every night. The birds were great to see and hear everyday. There is plenty of towels and sheets. With the huge washer/dryer, you could wash if you ran out (we never did). We used the hot tub a couple of nights and what a great way to relax after hiking, riding in car or riding horses. It felt the best after our 2 day drive (25 hrs, 1560 miles) to Colorado. Speaking of driving there - we used the address and Google maps which lead us right to the gate. We used descriptions in write-up to verify Google Maps. Coming from Georgia - my husband first looked for A/C - it was warm upstairs from being closed up a day or 2 before we arrived. Once we opened windows and let the breeze cool it down, it was comfortable (& from Georgia heat/humidity that is saying something). It was cooler downstairs (not as many windows in the direct sun). There is a couple of fans to help upstairs if you are like my husband and need to have the air constantly moving around you. While there we enjoyed downtown Pagosa Springs, Durango, Mesa Verde and long day trip to Ouray & Silverton (there was road work so expect some delays). The 6 year old loved the horseback riding at Wilderness Wildlife park. She went 2 days - got same horse both days. This was her first time riding totally by herself (no one hold lead rope or walking her). She had the best time. The 2 guides were awesome with her and safety was number 1. They both chose to ride sideways in saddle so they could keep close eye on her while watching the trail. I would recommend this place for beginners or young children."

  • Wonderful accomadations with great hikes right out the back door

"Rich took care of us and it was a pleasure to stay at his place. We stayed in the Juniper unit (up top) and the views were incredible. Every morning I would brew a pot of coffee and watch the sun rise over the mountains in the distance. At night, we had a nice little fire out back with a starry night that was nothing short of incredible. Plenty of great hiking directly behind the rental. This stay exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend it for a group looking to get outside of town a little ways. Kitchen had everything as we did a lot of cooking in."

  • Excellent if had A/C

"My family of 5 adults and 5 children spent 6 nights at this beautiful home with lots of amenities except a/c. We were able to figure out the putting up windows, putting down Windows and pulling shades so that we were comfortable 95%of the time. Besides that dutton dream is a dream house. A beautiful kitchen, with plenty of dinnerware and cookware, a wonderful dishwasher and lots of spices. There are two living areas so adults and kids could be separate or lots of room to hang out together. We had several game nights, a movie night and could then retire to our own rooms. We loved the back deck and saw deer pass thru as we listened to a baseball game. Although we are in a neighborhood it feels very private with all the trees. Lovely vacation home base!"
