  • Loved the Aframe ~ rustic & clean.

"We enjoyed staying in the chalet overlooking the lake through the trees. It had a very quiet neighborhood , we enjoyed our stay ! The kitchen was equipped with everything you'd need for a weekend .Bedrooms & bathroom very simple & clean. The shower worked amazingly well , hot water & great pressure ! We stayed for Thanksgiving weekend and explored local State parks Lovers Leap & Kent Falls . I would go back with my family , it felt like a home away from home ."

  • A Relaxing Shoreline Vacation.

"Mary's home is lovely, clean, and comfortable! It has everything you need to whip up a delicious local seafood dinner, as well as plenty of linens, a washer and dryer, and a backyard where I ate breakfast every morning. The location is excellent for a shoreline getaway, quiet but with many nearby attractions. The Owenego Beach Club is about a half block away and offers reasonable casual waterfront dining....lobster roll anyone? There is also a lovely path along the Sound for strolling after dinner. You can walk down Linden Avenue and get to several beach options....pleasantly deserted during the week. Yes, the Thimble Islands cruise is a must.....local flavor, beautiful views. Mary's house has AC, but I was comfortable with all the windows open, enjoying the fresh breezes and scents of the nearby salt marshes, where osprey and other shore birds cavort. Mary is close by if needed, and quick to answer questions. She also provided me with a list of nearby restaurants and suggestions on seafood markets. The nearby shoreline towns are charming and worth a visit. Branford is hopping with breweries and restaurants, and do not miss my favorite shop, Taken for Granite in Stony Creek! Altogether a relaxing stay...would highly recommend!"

  • Even in the Rain...

"My Family and I have been fortunate enough to have enjoyed this Mason's Island Home over many Sunny Columbus Day Weekends. This year we had rain instead of sun but this gracious Home still provided the cozy, comfortable space for our Family to enjoy each other's company! From the small to the tall, from the Sunday Brunch Chefs, to the Bridge players, there was a well equipped kitchen and a quiet corner to enjoy the game! Keeping up with the Baseball and Football games was also no problem with the two TVs! This Home kept us Comfortable & Cozy! Plenty of Clean, Comfortable Space to be together or to take that afternoon nap! However, even in the rain and wind, you are drawn to the ever changing vista, right outside your windows, wonderful to observe from within this sturdy Home! No, we didn't get to take our Family Walk around Mason's Island but we enjoyed a Wonderful Weekend truly enjoying each others' company!"

  • A joyful relaxing respite

"The cottage is just the perfect place to stay for a relaxing, quiet retreat. We really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor space immensely. in the early evening we were able to sit and watch an osprey as it surveyed the landscape below from a tree on the edge of the property. We loved the marsh and water views. Made me pine of my younger days growing up back east. We will be back for sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay. The cottage is delightful!"
