  • Perfect for Family Gatherings

"The property has many great features, including a large kitchen, a pool, close proximity to the beach (about a 10-15 minute walk) and, our family's favorite, a fantastic covered porch overlooking the canal, where we spent many hours conversing, reading and simply chilling. A large dining room table made it easy for all 12 of us to sit down at the table and dine together. There were a couple of minor issues when we arrived that the owner resolved quickly. We had a tremendous time and I certainly would recommend."

  • Wonderful! Charming, clean, relaxing

"This is a FANTASTIC place for an idyllic week at the beach. We took our two girls, 5 and 3, for their first beach vacation, and they're already bugging us to back. We sadly told them they'd have to wait until next summer, but we're planning on making an annual pilgrimage, and can't imagine a better place to stay than this house. The property is a block to the pool, and two blocks to a wonderfully uncrowded and unspoiled private beach. Our little kids had no trouble walking it. The pool is wonderful, and even has a diving board. The neighborhood is quiet and the people friendly. It's also an easy bike into town. The ride is just over a mile and totally flat. So you have easy access to the Boardwalk, Funland, and everything else Rehoboth has to offer, without the noise, crowds, or parking problems. We fell in love with this house, which has interesting mid-century modern architecture, and a huge breezy screen porch for passing the summer evenings. The house is well appointed. It doesn't have a hot tub, theater room, or elevator, but has everything you actually need, such as dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer, coffee maker, microwave, etc. There's a huge brand new gas grill on the porch, outdoor shower, etc. The first day we got there the temps were over 100, and the window AC units struggled a bit to keep up, but it was still quite tolerable. The rest of the time they were more than sufficient to keep it cool. We neglected to bring our own linens, which was our own fault for not reading the rental agreement closely enough. Not related to the house directly, but if you want to avoid the hassle of bringing and setting up your own beach umbrellas, you can arrange rentals at the office of the pool, which is just a block from this house. A truck full of strapping young men drives along the beach every morning at 9:30, securelly installing umbrellas and chairs. You can arrange for one or more to be waiting for you with your name on it. We cannot recommend this property highly enough."

  • Perfect for my wife's birthday "week".

"This great home was perfect in every way, including the location on a South Bethany canal. It was bright and cheery, functional and efficient. Both major and small appliances were great. We loved Bethany Beach to begin with, but this home really sold us on South Bethany and the canals. Bring or rent a kayak for hours of fun on the bay side. And, the beach was a short walk or even shorter drive if you have seniors! Working with the owner was a breeze and she was always available for emails and texts. We've been vacationing in the Outer Banks, Lewes, Saint Michaels, Ocean City, Virginia Beach and Myrtle, but none compare to our week at the Henlopen House!"

  • First experience with renting a condo

"Our family of 5 rented from June 4-11 and we had a great time! Before this, we had always stayed in hotels. Now that our kids are getting bigger we need more room. Sonya made us feel right at home! The condo was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals. We loved the washer and dryer being right inside the condo. The neighbors were friendly and the grounds were very well maintained. We went to Lewes Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park almost everyday. The beaches were clean and not crowded at all. In the evening we swam in the pool at the condo and relaxed on the screened in porch. It was so peaceful. We did go to the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach once. We parked at the bus terminal and rode the bus to the boardwalk. It was much easier than worrying about paying the meters every hour. We look forward to coming back to DE in the future and staying here again."
