"When we first started looking at rental properties in the Jensen Beach/Stuart area, we became frustrated by the lack of owner response. This property was not on our original list, mostly because it didn't have any reviews. Owner Chris has been incredibly responsive to our inquiries, as well as providing us with numerous links of things to do in the area. He and his brother, who lives next door, have promptly attended to any issues that we've had.
The 'cottage' is very nice, and much larger than a typical cottage (1600 sq. ft.) The kitchen, dining room, and living room are designed as an 'open concept', and the rooms are bright and cheery. The kitchen is well setup with everything needed to prepare many meals at home. The cabinets and countertop appear new, and the appliances are higher end. A new outdoor propane grill completes the food preparation.
The beds are very comfortable with high quality (1200 count) sheets. Each bedroom has a flatscreen TV to complement the 55" TV in the living room.
The master bathroom is a generous size with a large walk-in shower. The second bathroom is conveniently located and also has a walk-in shower.
One of the best features of the cottage is a large screened in porch with a great view (and Breeze!) of the Indian River Lagoon. There is also a 300' dock that has excellent fishing, as well as a hoist to raise or lower a kayak or canoe for access to the river. The Indian River Lagoon hosts a wide range of wildlife, from pelicans and dolphins to osprey and manatees. We've also seen tortoises, armadillos, blue herons ... two sandhill cranes actually walked by me in the driveway!
The owner has supplied many vacation items, including 2 beach cruiser bikes, 2 new 'backpack' beach chairs, 4 beachtowels, and a beach umbrella.
If the Jensen Beach/Stuart area is your destination, this cottage is highly recommended... we have been here for two weeks and are looking forward to another four! And if we come to this area again, we will defintely stay here!
A couple of things to note regarding the Jensen Beach area: there is a freight train which travels North-South through town mainly during nighttime hours. We cannot see the train from here, but it certainly is active! Also, be sure to heed the 'no-see-um' warning ... deet is not very effective with these tiny sandflies, and they're found in moist, sandy areas, which is basically the State of Florida."
