  • Great family vacation rental!

"My family and I had a wonderful time at the Cochran House! It is very secluded and quiet. It is a wonderful place to wind down and relax. The weather was phenomenal the whole time. The house was very clean and spacious and filled with tons of household items that are available for you to use. The screened in porch was one of our family's favorite features of this house. It is huge with lots of comfortable furniture and a big hammock. Great place for early morning coffee. The ocean is right out the back door. It is filled with marine life. We saw sting rays and dolphins every day and some of the dolphins swam within 5 feet from us! The waves are not rough, so it is a great area for small kids to swim. We paddle boarded and kayaked several times and loved it! There is a sand bar, and every night at low tide we would go out to it and search for sea shells - most of which are inhabited by crabs and snails. There are great local seafood restaurants in the area. We went to Coastal Cafe and Mad Anthony's Waterfront Grille and enjoyed both of them. We also visited St. George Island a couple days while there and climbed the lighthouse. Blue Parrot Cafe is a nice place to eat if you visit St. George, and if you have a sweet tooth Aunt Ebby's Ice Cream is a great place to visit as well. All in all, we had a great time on our vacation to St. Teresa Beach. The caretakers were very helpful and kind to us throughout our stay. We would love to come back again in the future. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us! The Bailey Family"

  • Fantastic!

"We loved the house, it was everything we were hoping for! The beach was great, and having the boardwalk from the house to the beach was perfect with younger kids. We loved the open living area, it was big enough to let both of our kids have their own space as well as the adults. The kitchen had everything we needed, which was wonderful. The bedrooms were nice, had comfortable beds. Bathrooms also worked well with 2 young kids. Great location on the beach, loved being able to lounge in the hammock at night too. Can't wait to go back next year!"

  • Wow! Found our vacation house for years to come!

"This was the first house my family has rented, and were a bit nervous about the whole process. Jim, the owner, took the time to email and call us and answer any and all our questions. The rental process went very smoothly. The pictures don't lie! This house was just as the pictures look on the website (no unpleasant surprises). Ok, the house is actually better than the pictures. House - the house is open concept at it's best. The living room, dinning room and kitchen are one big room, yet cleverly separated (this is where everyone hung out when inside and there was plenty of seating). There is also a big room upstairs that's another great place to hang out (this is where our kids hung out with each other). The house has such an open feeling to it with all the windows. On one side you look out into the bay (where dolphins could be seen every morning) and on the other side you're looking at the ocean. The bedrooms are decent size and no one felt crowded (we had six kids with us). Bathrooms were roomy (enough for mom to change and bath/shower kids with another kid brushing their teeth). The front deck (facing ocean) is like a room itself. Lots of conversation/bonding took place on it. The back deck was used to view the bay. The house is next to other houses, but you couldn't tell when you were in the house (quiet neighborhood). House was very clean and comfortable. Beach - Literally footsteps away. We felt like we had our own private beach. You could look down yonder and see a group of people that was a public beach, but no one was near us. This was nice for we could let the kids spread out on the beach with their stuff/toys and not worry about anyone taking anything. There were crabs, starfish, fish, hermit crabs, and such that could be found during the day. Yet not too many that any of the kids were afraid to swim in the ocean. At night the kids liked to walk the beach with a flashlight and see all the fiddle crabs - like all hundreds of them! We found shells, built sand castles, took walks, flew kites, and just hung out on the beach. The first night at the house, while sitting out on the beach watching the sun set, my husband asked me, "How much do you think Jim wants for the place?" Needless to stay, we love the house! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and reluctantly recommend it to others (who may take it the week we want to come back :) Seriously, this house is a treasure."

  • This was the perfect house for us

"The title says it all. The location is awesome and the folks at Collins we're fantastic. The house was plenty large enough to accommodate 12 of us. We loved the layout of the house and the child accessories we're well used considering our first 19 month old grandbaby was with us. The only complaint that I have worth typing is that the pool pump definitely needs replaced. I'm booking next years trip as of right now. The island itself is a perfect get away with lots of friendly locals and places to checkout."
