  • Loved Everything!

"Spent 3/20-3/27 at Jim's wonderful place in Goodland, Fl. If you want to be close to the water you can't get any better than this. This cozy, well equipped home away from home literally "sits" on the water. We were fishing 10 feet from the couch in the living area. The views were incredible, saw lots of different species of birds that visited the inlet every morning, watched dolphins play and Mullet hopping through the water right outside our door. This is a simple, clean, very comfortable place. Nothing "elaborate", but then again everything you need. There are two units one downstairs and one up, so it's perfect for friends to rent together, or for a larger family to have extra sleeping and kitchen space. We stayed downstairs just because it was easier, and we arrived late. The beds downstairs are twins (2), and are very comfortable. There is another smaller, maybe child size bed in the living area. There is also a golf cart to use for the week which is really great for exploring the little town and getting to dinner and the marinas. There are a few restaurants right in Goodland. We can HIGHLY recommend the Little Bar. We had probably the best fresh Tuna and Mahi Mahi we have ever had there. Went to the Old Marco Lodge one night, husband loved the Grouper but I was not a fan of the scallops. Coming home from Kayaking through Naples one evening stopped at Iguana Mia. Excellent Mexican food and they give you huge portions! If you are there to fish or Kayak a few recommendations. Hubby used a guide out of the Calusa Marina named Matt Hoover. Actually Jim (homeowner) had used him before and told us about him. He is a very good guide and comes highly recommended by others too. There is a very good spot to launch Kayaks in the Collier-Seminole State park. Not far from Jim's place and the launch from there gives you a perfect place to paddle among the mangroves. I ama beginner so it was perfect spot for me. Jim was wonderful to work with, he gives you all the information on the area you need, and responds very quickly to any questions you may have. We can't wait to go back and visit. It was a wonderful, relaxing 8 days on the water."

  • Clean, modern, and relaxing.

"Was the listing description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc ? Yes Was the property clean and well-maintained ? Yes Did the owner provide good customer service ? The reservation process was smooth. They answered all of our questions and when a severe storm came through and the city experienced a power outage for about 90 minutes, Paul came over and visited with us until the power was restored, just to insure everything was working properly. This was no fault of Paul's mind you and it was early on a Sunday morning. Amazing! Would you recommend this property to your friends or relatives ? Yes What activities, attractions and restaurants did you like or dislike near by ? Local advice was to go to Marco Island for a good meal, and we did. Being the off season a lot of the local businesses were closed. The dock was great for fishing and relaxing, nearby pool was a nice place for a nap, www.EvergladesFishingAdventures.com is Captain Dan Dixon's website for fishing charters, and Wooten's was a great place for an airboat ride, alligator show, etc. We used the condo as a home base for several day trips and a few days of just relaxing on the property. It worked great. The only downside is the backyard was not real tidy due to some construction of some sort that is in progress. There was never any activity while we were there, so noise or dust was never an issue. The lakeside is beautiful, quiet and well maintained. This is a great spot and would recommend it highly."
