  • We had a wonderful time! It felt like paradise.

"Donna's home was perfect. We felt comfortable and at home. Each morning we had coffee on the deck above the house where we could see the Gulf. We ate our breakfasts on the screened in porch, which was so relaxing in the breeze. There were blow dryers in each bathroom. Donna and Carolyn communicated well with us, so we knew exactly what to do to get food, get to the island, etc. The island was easy to acclimate to. We loved going to the end of the road to see the waves. We enjoyed watching dolphins at the end of the air strip. The key lime pie at Barnacles was delicious. My friends loved their fresh shrimp, except the night they got it blackened, it was too hot. The shrimp meal with a drink and tip was about $36. I just got pie for $6. We went to the pool and hot tub daily over by Mango's. They serve drinks and food there also. You can get a chicken taco for $10 which is about the cheapest meal on the island. Add a drink and tip that's included and you're up to over $20. Drinks run about $10. We never ate at the other two places. We read the reviews and bought plenty, actually too much, food. Mostly we ate at the house. There was salt, pepper, and other staple items already there. We went to the preserve one day and found tons of shells. Bring your sunscreen and a bright tie to mark the place you exit the trail to go to the beach. It was a dream vacation. I don't think it can be topped."

  • An amazing stay at Las Olas

"I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said. Las Olas is a phenomenal property in a phenomenal location. It's well known amongst the homeowners on the island. I know this because I was asked several times how we like Las Olas and every time, the answer was the same. We love it. The property is fantastic in every way. We've been to North Captiva five times now and we've stayed in a different property each time. Some were good and some were not so good but none of them compared to Las Olas. Steve, the owner, keeps the property in very nice shape. It's well appointed and beautifully decorated and Steve was very responsive any time I contacted him before and during our stay. The property managers, Helen and Mark, were awesome as well. They met us at Barnacle Phil's and took our luggage and groceries to the house and showed us around. It was extremely helpful and very much appreciated. They came back the day we left and took our luggage back to the ferry. Five star service for five star accommodations. We will be back on North Captiva next Christmas and we're hoping Las Olas is available because I'm not sure we can find a better place to stay."

  • Wonderful experience!!

"My husband and I stayed at Blue Mango for our 40th wedding anniversary--it was an experience we will cherish forever! Unfortunately we were unable to meet Diane, but John was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. For those concerned about the logistics getting to/from N. Captiva and groceries--don't be. It was a breeze! Blue Mango is perfect in every way and we would (& have!) recommended it to our friends. We have been reminiscing all week and can't wait to return!"
