  • Perfect place in paradise!

"Loved the house, pool & all the amenities. Charm thought of everything. It was great to have the kayaks we got to hang with the dolphins & manatees. It really was a terrific vacation couldn't get the kids out of the pool. So peaceful & quiet -no cars! And the most beautiful sunsets & sunrises! We definitely will be back!!!"

  • Blissful and Relaxing Escape in an Exquisite Home

"Walking into this home was akin to arriving at a small yet expensive resort. The layout is commodious and perfect for large and intimate gatherings. The furnishings are comfortable and tasteful. The wrap around porch with doors opening onto it from two bedrooms as well as the great room makes you feel as if you are in a large well appointed cabana perched in the perfect location. Our kids had the most amazing time kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkeling. Dolphins and manatees come to visit several times a day. I will remember my week in this home with friends and family forever. And, I plan to return."

  • Slice of Heaven

"My husband recently returned from a 6 mth deployment overseas and I was researching areas to visit for a week to decompress when I stumbled upon the Island of Upper Captiva, more specifically "Rum Cove". We feel incredibly lucky to have discovered both! Upper Captiva is a rare jewel of an environment that sets you at ease from the moment you see it. Upper Captiva is stunning in its natural beauty, the wilderness and wildlife, the trees, beaches, the sunsets and stars...it's simply captivating. The people who live/work/visit the island cherish it and take great pride in their island. The fact that there are no cars and you explore via golf carts, bikes, kayaks, and your own two feet is more refreshing than words can describe. And Rum Cove is a paradise. The home hovers beautifully over a private canal and makes you smile as soon as you see it! Rum Cove is wonderfully laid out whether you are visiting as a small or large group and whether you are there to relax or play and find adventure. Plenty of comfortable areas to relax and enjoy the outdoor views, the heated pool is spectacular, the bedrooms are very comfortable, and the kitchen is stocked with everything possibly needed to prepare your meals. Everywhere you turn it is apparent that Rum Cove is taken care of a team of people that respect and care for the home very much. One morning by chance I ran into Joe, he and his wife, Barbara, are the owners of Rum Cove. I learned that Joe discovered Upper Captiva back in the 60's due to the fact it has a landing strip and he is a pilot. He instantly fell in love with the island and Upper Captiva soon became their home. You will enjoy their discovery, hands down! Sarah, the realtor representing Rum Cove, is instrumental in making your visit possible. Captain Emily was spectacular in getting us to and from Rum Cove (even brought my brother and his family out for the weekend, late at night!). She gave us the history of Upper Captiva and the surrounding islands and made the journey very enjoyable. Tom, the property manager, met us at the dock of Rum Cove. The smile never left his face as he helped us with our things and introduced us to the house. He's only a call away if you need anything during your stay and we valued his kind heart and easy going personality. Beaulah, who keeps the home spotless, emailed us to introduce herself as well and let us know she would help us with anything desired. The absolute best experience from start to finish!"

  • Peaceful, Pristine, and Perfect

"This was our second trip to North Captiva and it was just as wonderful as the first. The Morganite Nest was a key factor in why our trip was so great. The house was super clean and shiny and the water didn't smell like eggs (a problem with our previous trip to N. Captiva). They pretty much thought of everything, from the cooking utensils to the pool toys to the electric tea kettle! Another thing that we liked was that the front porch opened to the pool deck. Our previous rental (as with others on the island) had us walking down the stairs in the front to get to the pool on the side of the house. Also, the pool was very private, backing up to trees as opposed to having the other houses' terraces looking straight into it like we had noticed with other pools. Alex and Delphine were very responsive and helpful prior to our trip and Duncan and Laurie, the property managers, were on top of everything once we arrived. One interesting thing to note is that, although we knew that there was a house full of college kids at the end of the lane, we actually only saw them a couple of times while driving around on the golf cart and at the beach and never heard them once. This leads me to two conclusions: 1. The water must absorb a lot of noise; and 2. Even while partying on spring break, they have respect for the beauty and peace that is North Captiva Island."
