  • Perfect Vacation For Our Family of Four

"My family of four enjoyed a week's stay at Cinco de Mayo in February 2017 and couldn't have had a better time! To start with, if you are debating on giving North Captiva Island a try, we can not speak highly enough! This was our third time and the best weather yet! Even when weather hasn't cooperated 100%, my family has loved this little slice of paradise. You can literally feel your body let down and relax. Our kids, love the lack of cars and feel they have found a little secret! As for Cinco de Mayo itself, we could not have asked for more. Despite having access to the pool at the nearby Island club, our kids just loved having a pool right at the house. I think our son may have grown gills! We love to cook and rarely left the house to eat. As someone who likes grilling, it was fantastic to have access to both a charcoal and gas grill. One of the items we greatly appreciated was the amount of glad ware for all the leftovers! You don't realize how much you appreciate storage until you need it :). This was also the first time we have had reverse osmosis which was greatly appreciated. As for the space, we absolutely LOVED sitting on the screened in porch off the telescoping doors. It was such a wonderful way to start the day. Plus, if you don't feel like making it to the beach at sunset, just jump up the circular stairs and watch it from the roof! I can honestly say that Sarah and Mike could not have been better hosts. In closing, we could not recommend No. Captiva Island and Cinco de Mayo any more! It was a fantastic experience and will probably not be our last."

  • relaxing, quiet and perfect for our stay

"Alicia, This is a beautiful home and we loved it..we will definitely be back within the next year (hopefully). We loved the deck, the short walk to the beach and that we were on the "edge" and not in the tree's. There are only two little minor things that are more like requests rather than complaints: It would be great if you had a canoe or 2 in the storage room so we can play out front of our place.. We did go down to town and "rent" for a few hours but we didn't have time to go around the island and back.. The other request is that you have some food containers such as gladware to put leftovers in..We had a tough time figuring out how to keep everything fresh in the fridge.. Thank you for the lovely space, Mary"

  • We had a wonderful time! It felt like paradise.

"Donna's home was perfect. We felt comfortable and at home. Each morning we had coffee on the deck above the house where we could see the Gulf. We ate our breakfasts on the screened in porch, which was so relaxing in the breeze. There were blow dryers in each bathroom. Donna and Carolyn communicated well with us, so we knew exactly what to do to get food, get to the island, etc. The island was easy to acclimate to. We loved going to the end of the road to see the waves. We enjoyed watching dolphins at the end of the air strip. The key lime pie at Barnacles was delicious. My friends loved their fresh shrimp, except the night they got it blackened, it was too hot. The shrimp meal with a drink and tip was about $36. I just got pie for $6. We went to the pool and hot tub daily over by Mango's. They serve drinks and food there also. You can get a chicken taco for $10 which is about the cheapest meal on the island. Add a drink and tip that's included and you're up to over $20. Drinks run about $10. We never ate at the other two places. We read the reviews and bought plenty, actually too much, food. Mostly we ate at the house. There was salt, pepper, and other staple items already there. We went to the preserve one day and found tons of shells. Bring your sunscreen and a bright tie to mark the place you exit the trail to go to the beach. It was a dream vacation. I don't think it can be topped."
